It was too late. Or maybe too early. They had been sitting there all night, long after the boys got out of the operation room. Matilda was pale as a ghost and she was tired, barely able to sit up. For the past hour, she had been laying her head on Sarah's lap and coughing.

“Um, excuse me,” a stout woman tried to get her attention. She had a shy smile and two adorably rosy cheeks. Matilda smiled her way. “Are you Matilda Dahl?”

He had stayed all day yesterday with Scott in the hospital. Even though his surgery had been difficult, the man was recovering fast aside from a mild headache that did not seem to be going away any time soon.
