Chapter 21

Zaria's POVI groaned as I looked through my wardrobe, getting frustrated that I couldn't get something suitable to wear and that's saying a lot because my wardrobes were stocked with fancy and beautiful outfits. My bed and floor were littered with so many cloths, my entire room looked so disorganized and I almost gauged my eyes out. I need something nice enough to wear to Joel's house for decathlon drilling. I looked through the wardrobe again and sighed in frustration. Babe, calm down. It's just a study session. I kept telling myself that, but it wasn't working. Of course it won't work. I'm nervous as hell. Who wouldn't be. I am going to the house of the guy I really like. I have got to dress nicely. Yeah, I know I just admitted I like the guy I used to hate. How cliché is that? Though, if so

Chapter 22

Zaria's POV"Wow! You have a very nice room. You are very neat." I looked around the large room and smiled, nodding my head in approval. I've been to so many guy's room and his topped the neatness list. Charles or Taju's room are equivalent to a dumping ground. Cloths every where and at every corner, washed and unwashed. It was always unsettling and bad. Tyler's room was okay but I've never been to Kelvin's. But this...this was just wow! His room was not exactly a typical boy's room. He had one poster of the rap legend Eminem on his wall and a shelve stacked with motivational and inspiring books and I was sure he must have read them all. Close to his huge king sized bed was a glass door that led to a terrace that gave a rather beautiful view of the estate. "You haven't seen a guys room this neat?

Chapter 23

Zaria's POVAs soon as we were done with the laundry, we moved to the garden to water the flowers. Joel had put off his T-shirt again and I was trying my best not to get distracted like before. I put off my grey sneakers and borrowed a pair of Joel's flip flops that were pretty big for my leg, but I really liked it. We tried to make small conversations after the little moment we had in his room. I was still feeling hot all over and a little giddy. Truth be told, I wanted him to kiss me. I've never really kissed a guy back and I wanted to know how it felt like. My "first kiss" was nothing to write home about so I shoved the disgusting memory down the drain. But now I wanted to share a real first kiss, with Joel. I can already imagine how romantic the kiss would be. Look at you! Nonsense child! I thought to m

Chapter 24

Joel's POV"Do you have cleavers?" She asked. " Yeah. They are up in that cabinet." I pointed, looking at the pot of rice that was still cooking on the gas cooker. I saw that it was done so I put off the burner. I looked back at Zaria and my eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. She was trying to stretch to get the cleaver and that made the jersey she was wearing move up, exposing her beautiful, long and flawless thighs. I sucked in a breath as she still struggled to get the cleaver, the dress moving farther up her thighs. It was like she wasn't even aware of what she was doing. Holy God! What is this girl doing to me? I walked behind her slowly and leaned closer to her. She sensed my presence and stopped trying to get the cleaver. I reached up and took the cleaver, not leaving my position. She tur

Chapter 25

Zaria's POV"I really need someone to talk to right now." I plopped down on a seat beside Lyla and she stared at me warily. "Since when? I have known you to have everything all figured out. Now you want to talk to someone. I can feel my best friend instincts tingling." She said in one breath and I scoffed at her. "I don't think you'd like me so much after I say what I'm about to say." I told her and her forehead creased in confusion. "Alright, out with the dets. I really hope it's worth it o because if it's not, I'd kill you for disturbing..." She rambled and I rolled my eyes. "Joel and I kissed." I whispered out harshly and that stopped her rambling. She looked like a deer caught in headlight, her eye balls almost bulging out of their sockets. "You did w

Chapter 26

Joel's POV For two weeks straight, Zaria didn't speak to me. We agreed that we wouldn't go public yet and leave everyone to their speculations, but this was different. She wasn't even sparing me a glance not to talk of a wave in greeting. She was completely avoiding me and I have no idea why. I tried to speak to her severally but anytime she sees me she will scram like I was a deadly parasite that she shouldn't come in contact with. I was getting frustrated. I thought of giving her the space, maybe she'd come around but there was nothing. Was it something I did? Did I pry too much into her private life? Was I being nosy? No... She kissed me. I tried to call her severally but she wouldn't pick up. It was all too frustrating. I decided I was

Mature and Triggering content. Read at your own risk. ??Flash Back. 5 Years Ago - Zaria's POVIt was Easter break. I was up in my room, playing game on my phone, while settled comfortably on my bed. No one was at home except me the maids. Aisha was in a boarding school and was only at home on Holidays. My parents were always busy so no one was really at home with me. Sam was in the final year in the university but he still made time for me. Of course he would, I was his favourite niece. I smiled at the thought. The sound of the front door opening made me get down from my bed and run down the stairs. I smiled as I saw who was at the door. "Sam!!!" I screamed as I ran into his out stretched arms. He chuckled as he picked me up and turned me around

Chapter 28

Zaria's POVBy the time I was rounding up with my story, Joel had already stood up from his seat in front of me and by the window, staring outside. I saw the death grip he had in the burglary and I gulped inaudibly. He hasn't spoken since I dropped the bombshell and I was terrified of his reaction. "She insulted me and called me horrible names. She wouldn't believe me. To her Sam was a good boy who wouldn't hurt a fly." I gave a sarcastic laugh as tears falling from my eyes."When my dad came home that night, she told him what I had said. He didn't believe me. He even slapped me. He said I should never say a word about it in my entire life. Sam denied blatantly." I looked up a Joel through misty eyes. He had the rods in a death grip, I feared his knuckles would burst any minute. "I still think they know I was telling the truth. They only wa

Chapter 29

Joel's POVI walked back to where Zaria, Lyla and Charles were. Since the show down with Ada, Zaria has been awfully quiet and I was incredibly scared. Scared that Ada's words would have cut too deep. Charles noticed me coming and came to meet him half way. "Where did you go to?" He asked me. "I went to confront a tiny demon." I replied him while looking over his shoulder to Zaria. "She still isn't talking?" I asked Charles who shook his head. "Lyla and I have tried to get her to speak but nothing is working."Charles sighed then looked at me. "How come we didn't know anything about Sam? This is all too confusing." Charles said. I ran my hand through my face in frustration. "Her parents made her not to tell anyone. I guess they were trying to protect their reputation." I chipped in and Charles

Mature and Triggering Scene Ahead. Read at your own risk. ??Zaria's POVI gasped for breath as I woke up with a start, perspiration dripping from my body even with the air conditioning at it's highest. My face was wet but not from sweat. From tears. I took several breaths to calm my racing heart and I allowed my mind to go back to the dream. Suddenly everything became clear; Why I have been having those night mares for a long time and why I couldn't help her when she cried for help. She cried to me for help...I couldn't help all the while because that girl was Me... ...and the man... UNCLE SAM!I looked around frantically and saw it was already dark. I looked at the time and widened my eyes when I saw 8:
