He frowned and unhappily said, "Gu Anran, my patience has a limit. Must you keep interacting with me like this?"

"I won't play nice with you unless you tell me who you're protecting!"

Mu Zhanbei had a tight grip on her hand, and so she could not break free. She looked away as if she had had enough of his face.

"I advise you to give up."

He kept quiet, but his gaze remained on her wrist.

He did not mean to hurt her when they were at the beach. Since everything had been said and done, he would admit that he did grab her a little too hard.

He opened a drawer and took a first-aid kit that had always been in there. Mu Zhanbei did not say another word. He applied some medicine onto her wrist, and then he began to rub on it gently.

Gu Anran did not understand the man. He was cold with her most of the time, but there were also times when he was kind to her.

In the end, though, all their disagreements were moot. Regardless of whether he was good or bad, their entire relationship was based on an agreement.

"I'm fine. You can go now, Eldest Young Master Mu." More than anyone else, she knew what kind of person he was.

He would not have said anything even if she took a knife to his neck.

Then the door slammed shut with a bang. There was a click, and then the door was locked.

Li Ye's heart clenched when he heard their quarrel, and as he saw Eldest Young Master exit the room with a sunken look.
