Chapter 1

第一章
Su Xiaomi's friends followed her gaze, and they saw a tall and slender man as he strolled toward them. He looked about 1.9 meters in height!

His most prominent feature seemed to be his ponytail at the back of his head. It was pretty long, but it did not lessen his masculinity as he still looked clean and handsome. His intense eyes were far more beautiful than the stars in the sky. He had a tall caucasian nose bridge and sexy thin lips that were as red and as luscious as jelly.

There was a beauty mole at the corner of his eye, but it was not very noticeable due to the color of his skin. However, its subtle looming had caught many's attention.

The top two buttons on his shirt were unbuttoned. He had a wild and sexy appearance, but he did not look frivolous. Even if he was a lavish person, he was equally charming and handsome. No woman would mind it if he had his way with them! His appearance took Gu Anran's breath away too. That man looked more beautiful than a woman, and yet he was not feminine. His entire presence exuded a strong wave of male hormones.

Since it was already very late, he did not only attract attention from their table, but he had probably turned many heads as he passed by them. Why was he so brave to wander the street at night? There had been many cases... Eww, yuck! She should get that filthy thought out of her head! Gu Anran pulled herself together and slapped the back of Su Xiaomi's head.

"Have you never seen a handsome guy? Is Yang Yi not handsome enough for you? What about Tianyou? What are you looking at?"

"Ouch! What are you doing? How can Yang Yi compare with him? Tianyou is so rigid. Well... Ahem!"

Shocked by what had escaped from her mouth, Su Xiaomi hurriedly lowered her head to sip her drink and stopped talking at once. However, she could stop stealing a few looks at that guy discreetly, and he had taken the table next to theirs. He had such handsome facial features, a slender frame, and such graceful temperament. Why would he eat at a roadside stall?

Gu Anran glanced at Mu Tianyou. She had a feeling that the guy was not someone who would dine at such a place. He was not luxuriously dressed; he wore a very low-profile outfit. However, it was clear that he had the air of an affluent young master. Mu Tianyou shook his head. He could sense that the man posed no harm to them.

Gu Anran bit her lower lip. Since Tianyou affirmed that there was no immediate danger, she would not worry about it. She found the original sketch of Liu Shang's work on her mobile phone and showed it to everyone.

"This is the draft. I don't know how you found it, but these lines are rough, and they look awful."

"I stumbled upon it online. I thought that since it was only an assessment and not for commercial purposes, I could just use that instead."

Liu Shang felt a little guilty. He did not intend to plagiarise other people's work. He had only used it as a reference for his coloring task.

"I am not accusing you of anything. Stop being so nervous."

Gu Anran smiled and further explained, "I asked you that day if you completed the rest of the work on your own besides the sketch."

"Of course, I did!" He had only taken the draft from someone else, and he had painted all the colors by himself!

"That's why I think you should not do coloring anymore."

Just as Liu Shang's face was about to collapse again, Gu Anran continued, "For this project, I think you can be a sketcher to outline the lines of a rough sketch."

"Outline lines?" He was good at it, but had she not noticed their chief sketcher's exceptional skill?

Qin Zhizhou's drawing was so precise that he did not need someone to define his sketch. He was not only quick at drawing, but he could also produce an almost flawless sketch! It was superfluous to outline Qin Zhizhou's sketches. The person who would color his sketches could easily fix the minimal flaws with a few simple strokes of colors. Would that not make it unnecessary to outline the sketches?

Liu Shang looked at Qin Zhizhou, but the latter only bowed his head to eat. He did not say a single word all night long. That was his personality; he was an extremely quiet person. Fortunately, he was still willing to mingle with everyone else. Even though He Lingzhi knew nothing about painting, she was the one who evaluated his work, and she was probably the most familiar with his potential.

"Ranran, with Zhizhou's skill, we do not need someone to outline the lines."

"If Qin Zhizhou were to draw two chapters a day, would he not need someone to help him with the lines?"

"Two chapters a day? Forty-block chapter?" Su Xiaomi almost spat her drink everywhere.

She had choked on her drink!

"Ranran, are you...kidding me?" Su Xiaomi sputtered as she choked.

Even the most outstanding sketcher could probably complete three chapters per week, and that was already a fantastic speed. Gu Anran had mentioned two chapters per day, and that was simply crazy! Even Qin Zhizhou stared at Gu Anran. Although he was confident with his abilities, he knew that it was near-impossible for him to draw two chapters a day.

Qin Zhizhou said plainly, "Even if I sacrifice my sleep and the hours for my classes, I could only draw one chapter a day, and not a chapter more."

Even Qin Zhizhou had told her so. Two chapters per day was an impossible feat.

"You told me that you drew five pages in three hours. I checked the hottest comic platform, and each of their chapters had about forty blocks, which would equal 12 or 13 pages."

"That's right. I may not even be able to finish a chapter in a day..."

Gu Anran interrupted him with a confident smile.

"Now, if you were to only draw rough sketches without defining the lines, then we could get someone to help you with the outlines. With two people to help with coloring, I believe that we could achieve two chapters in a day."

If it was just a draft and not a defined sketch, then two chapters per day...

Qin Zhizhou thought about that very carefully before he looked at Gu Anran. "Are you planning to finish a medium-length comic before the preliminary round?"

"Well, it's a comic with a long storyline. I reckoned that we could finish the first part and continue to work on the second part if we get good results."

As long as they could complete the ending for the first part, then it was considered a finished work on its own. They could then use that to qualify for the preliminary round.

"The first part would have about forty chapters. The preliminary round is in the middle of the month, so we still have about half a month to go."

"With only half a month to go, two chapters a day is not enough..."

"Well, he would have to complete at least three chapters a day on the weekends."

Three chapters a day! It was absolutely crazy! Even a god could not make that happen!

Gu Anran filled a bowl with porridge and pushed it toward Qin Zhizhou with a wide grin. Everyone thought that her smile looked more like a death note.

"Come on, eat a bit more. Tonight is your last day of indulgence. Starting tomorrow, you will have to work hard."

It sounded like he was bound for hell after that night.

Su Xiaomi shook her head. "Forty chapters in half a month. That's impossible. We're too late..."

"If you cannot catch up to Yang Yi's pace in coloring, I will kill you."

Gu Anran smiled, but it was a terrifying grin.

Su Xiaomi shuddered. "Ranran, you...you are so terrible! Why is your gaze so horrible!"

"How am I terrible? I'm so gentle and lovely."

Gu Anran patted her face and did not feel guilty at all.

"Yes!" Su Xiaomi insisted. "Since you have been with that terrible man, you have become as horrible as him! He had influenced you, somehow!"

"Nonsense!" Gu Anran was reluctant to admit it. "I am not influenced by that demon!"

"Ahem!" The incredibly handsome guy from the next table chuckled.

So Eldest Young Master Mu was equivalent to a demon in the eyes of his beautiful little wife?

"Hmmph!"The man turned around and showed her his cold and distant back. Gu Anran felt dismayed and helpless. Was he offended because she called him 'old rascal'? It looked like he was still angry! He had been in that mood for about one and a half-hour. He had ignored her when she tried to talk to her, and when she did not speak with him, he would sulk and snort at her!Gu Anran wondered if the Young Master Mu she saw that night was a clone. How had he suddenly become so...childish? She tried to ignore his presence, but…"Hmmph!" Mu Dashao snorted coldly. The girl in his bed panicked. He had managed to display his fury with his attitude alone. It was as if he was so angry that he could not sleep. Gu Anran was afraid that if his anger persisted all night long, then they would not be able to sleep a wink."Eldest Young Master Mu...""Hmmph!" All she saw was his cold, sad back, and she almost gave up in despair. It would have been great if they would sleep in peace like that on the

Gu Anran figured that she had offended Eldest Young Master Mu again, but she did not know what she had said wrong. The man's heart was like a needle under the sea. He was so hard to read that there was no use to ponder about it.After she unpacked her things, she put her laptop on the coffee table before she sat on the floor to get a headstart on her work. The man immediately frowned. "Do you have to look so miserable?""Huh?" Gu Anran looked up at him. Miserable? No, she was not pitiful at all."Come here.""But I have work to do...""I said, come here." Mu Zhanbei was a little impatient, and he stared at her irritably. "Bring your laptop."Gu Anran was in a daze, but still, she took her laptop and walked toward him obediently. "Sit here." Mu Zhanbei pointed to the seat next to him. Then, he dialed a number on the phone. A few moments later, a maid was at the room with a matching chair for the desk.It seemed like they would be working together side by side in the future. W

Was it D-day for Gu Anran that night? She was so upset that she kicked the room door after she finished with her packing."Ouch..." She forgot that she only had a pair of slippers that offered no protection for her miserable toes. She yelped in pain when her toes hit the door frame. "Young madam, what's wrong?" Qin Yi was shocked when he saw Gu Anran in pain as he went to help her with the suitcase.Did she kick the door? Was she unhappy with the eldest young master?"Young madam, I'll help you with the suitcases. Don't worry about it."Gu Anran was not worried at all. Instead, she feared that they would clear out her room. Eldest Young Master Mu's room was about 300 square feet in size, so it could easily fit a couple more wardrobes. If they were to move all of her clothes into his room, would that mean she were to 'stay with him' for a long time?"Young Madam, let's go." Qin Yi urged her earnestly. Gu Anran sighed and followed him as she held a soft toy in her arms. Mu Z

The old madam's condition had finally stabilized, so she was transferred to the intensive care unit. Only one family member was allowed to visit at any one time. Gu Anran had already been in there, so the next person to go in next was Old Master Mu.The old man took up most of the visiting time slots. The others who stayed there had no chance to see the old madam at all. The doctor advised everyone to head home first to rest. Most of them had left after they approached the old butler. Mu Zhanbei stared at the entrance to the intensive care unit. A few moments later, he finally decided to leave the hospital as well.Li Ye walked up to Gu Anran and whispered, "Young Madam, let's head home."Gu Anran had already seen the old madam, and she knew that it was futile to remain there at that time. When she saw Mu Zhanbei's stiff back moved further away, she nodded as she tried to keep up with his pace. Then Li Ye drove the two of them home. Again, they were quiet along the journey home. W

Gu Anran did not know when Mu Zhanbei had returned. As soon as she heard the news that his grandmother was seriously ill, she immediately dashed toward the school gate. The old madam had been unwell, and she was admitted to the emergency room. Everyone from the Mu family had rushed to the hospital

Had it been torn before the incident? The two girls exchanged a look. One of them raised her voice sharply after half a second of hesitation."Nonsense! Ning Zi and I have been guarding this painting carefully. It was in perfect condition, and your friend ruined it!"Ning Zi also pointed at Su Xia

All the comic clubs were told to send their representatives to her talk because Shu Lei would be attending the Comic and Animation Exhibition as a judge.
