Hannah was filled with resentment toward Lady Wilson as she followed the Wilson family into the dining room.

Lady Wilson directly sat at the main seat at the dining table. When she glanced at the food that Hannah had cooked, she was very dissatisfied and frowned as she said, “Why did you prepare all these home-cooked dishes? Why aren’t there any dishes with a lot of meat? Don’t you know that I’m already old and would need to replenish and build up my body?”

Hannah was a little aggrieved as she said, “Mom, you can’t blame me for this. You’re holding onto all of the family’s money, so I only have a few hundred dollars on hand. How can I possibly afford to buy a lot of fish and meat then?”

Lady Wilson snorted coldly and said, “You’re always full of excuses. Can’t you even buy a chicken if you have a few hundred dollars? One free range chicken costs less than a hundred dollars. Can’t you even afford that?”

Hannah felt very angry and she said, “Mom, there are five of us eating in this family, while you aren’t giving any money for our living expenses at all. Even the cleverest housewife wouldn’t be able to cook a meal without any rice. At least we’re still having some pork for this meal today, but we might not even be able to have any meat for the next meal.”

Lady Wilson glared at Hannah before she said, “It’s fine if you want me to give you some living expenses. However, you’ll only be reimbursed for the actual expenses. In the future, you’ll buy all the groceries from a regular supermarket and you can claim reimbursement from me by presenting the receipts.”

Hannah knew that the old lady was simply afraid that she would misappropriate the money given to her and that she would keep some money for herself.

Hannah felt a little disgusted when she thought about how she would have to use a receipt to get a few hundred dollars’ reimbursement from the old lady every day.

However, she did not express her dissatisfaction. She simply replied casually, “Okay then, Mom. If you don’t find it too troublesome, then we can just tally the account every day from now on.”

Lady Wilson smiled as she said satirically, “I don’t find it troublesome at all. I am feeling very energetic for an old woman.”

Hannah did not continue bickering with her, but instead, she simply picked up her bowl and took a couple mouthfuls of food.

At this time, Wendy, who was sitting at the side, was looking through her cell phone as she took small bites of her food. After that, she asked Lady Wilson, “Grandma, can I apply for an ‘image fee’ from you?”

Lady Wilson rolled her eyes at Wendy as she said, “You don’t have to beat around the bush here. Just get to the point and tell me what you are asking for.”

Wendy said, “Grandma, I’d like to request for one hundred thousand dollars from the company to buy a bag, some new clothes, as well as some cosmetics and skincare products.”

“One hundred thousand dollars?” Lady Wilson snorted coldly and said, “Do you really think that money grows on trees?”

Wendy replied in an aggrieved manner, “Grandma, didn’t Mr. Webb give us tens of millions of dollars? The funds in the company’s account are also quite abundant now. One hundred thousand dollars is nothing to us!”

Lady Wilson replied angrily, “It’s nothing to us? Let me tell you something—in the past, Wilson Group’s funds got depleted slowly precisely because we had always felt that one hundred thousand dollars was nothing, two hundred thousand dollars was nothing and even one million dollars wasn’t much to us! So, from now on, we have to seize this opportunity that we have to make a comeback and we shouldn’t repeat the same mistakes that we previously made!”
