Chapter 16 Nicholas Wolfe’s Girlfriend

Despite her immodest outfit, there was still a stark contrast to her innate personality.

“Is there a difference?” Nicholas eyed Daphne icily. “I recall your skirt hitting right at the knee, just a few days ago. It’s only been less than a few days. Why are you so eager to flash your assets now?”

And just like that, he had made their secret affair public.

Daphne lowered her head even more, balling her dainty hand into a tight fist and biting her lips.

Silence.

Only the sounds of music could be heard in the private room. Daphne could feel eyes on her from every direction.

Nicholas glared at Daphne, and his eyes bore into her exposed flesh. His sharp eyes flashed with dark lust.

“Turn it off! What’s with this music?” Nicholas suddenly roared.

A few slightly timid girls screamed in fright.

The music was quickly turned off. Daphne was still standing in her spot. She had become the center of attention.

Charles eyed Daphne with interest, with a woman in his arms.

‘Did I really give this four-eyed girl to Nick? She’s interesting.’

Master Nicholas had said less than three sentences the entire night until the four-eyes came along, and he had both cursed and flown into a rage…

The manager, who had been standing outside, heard the music stop. Daphne and Cassie had been stuck inside for ages, so he immediately pushed the door open and burst in.

“Master Nicholas—”

Crash!

An alcohol bottle was flung across the room. The manager, unable to avoid it in time, ended up bleeding in the head.

“Get out!” Nicholas roared, eyeing Daphne with a fiery gaze.

Daphne calmly endured Nicholas’s powerful oppressive aura.

It’s not that she wasn’t afraid, but what was the use of being terrified?

The manager ran out with his bloodied head. Soon after, the owner of the bar walked in, bowing and scraping at Nicholas.

Luckily, Nicholas did not smash a liquor bottle on anyone this time. He simply glared at Daphne icily, then looked at the bar owner. “Do you have a kitchen?”

The owner was taken aback, then immediately answered, “Yes, yes, yes! Of course!”

Of course, what bar would have a kitchen? However, if Nicholas Wolfe wanted a kitchen, he would get a kitchen!

Who in G City would dare offend him?

“You, make me a bowl of noodles!”

Nicholas stared at Daphne icily.

Silence.

The room was completely silent. Daphne went into a slight daze before she came to her senses and realized that Nicholas might have been talking to her.

She lifted her head blurrily and stared at Nicholas. “Me?”

“Who else? Me?” Nicholas asked nastily.

‘Make noodles?’ Daphne wondered, shocked.

“Master Nicholas, if you’d like some noodles, I know a nice little noodle shop on the east side of the city. It’s pretty good. I’ll have someone get—”

“Is it your turn to speak?”

Nicholas’s grim voice was akin to a demon, risen from hell.

The owner trembled. He looked at Daphne and instantly understood.

“Please wait here, Master Nicholas. The noodles will be ready at once! At once!”

The owner dragged Daphne out before she could give her reply.

“Master Nicholas wants to have noodles, made by you, so you’d better pull every trick you have! If it’s not up to Master Nicholas’s standards, firing you would be a mild sentence for you! Got it?” the owner said to Daphne with a serious look on his chubby face.

Daphne nodded.

The kitchen utensils were finally delivered after more than ten minutes.

A corner of the fruit section had been emptied, leaving Daphne alone to cook noodles for Master Nicholas, whom no one could afford to annoy.

She filled a pot with water and turned on the fire…

Daphne was left with nothing else to do but wait for the water to boil.

She really never expected to end up cooking noodles on her first day on the job at a bar…

“Excuse me, can I talk to you for a moment?”

Suddenly, she heard a woman’s voice behind her.

Daphne returned to her senses. She turned around and found a woman standing at the doorway, staring at her.

“Who are you?”

Daphne stared at the beautiful woman in front of her. For some reason, this woman looked very familiar to her, as if she had seen her somewhere before.

“Don’t you know me?” Bianca Winters stared at Daphne in surprise.

“Should I know you?” Daphne asked.

This woman may look familiar to her, but she couldn’t place her. However, she was sure that she wasn’t close to her, or she would have remembered her.

‘She doesn’t look like she’s lying. Maybe she really doesn’t remember me?’

Bianca couldn’t be bothered to interrogate any further. She looked at Daphne and said, “We met two days ago. You were standing at the bust stop, waiting for a bus. I was in Master Nicholas’s car. Then, we ended up in the same car. Do you remember now?”

Daphne frowned as she surveyed Bianca. She tried to recall the incidences that Bianca had described and suddenly came to her senses. She stared at Bianca in shock.

‘She’s the woman who sat in between Nicholas and me! And then she…’

Daphne blushed. She lowered her head, cleared her throat, and asked, “What can I do for you?”

She really didn’t think that this beauty was here to reminiscence with her. They had only met once after all.

“Of course there is! Name your price. How much will it take for you to leave Nicholas Wolfe?” Bianca replied, straight away.

“Ah?” Daphne was in shock.

“We’re all here to socialize, so let’s be frank. Master Nicholas is most interested in me at the moment, but your appearance has posed a great risk to me! Master Nicholas is obviously interested in you. Tell me how much money you want, as long as you’ll leave Master Nicholas!” Bianca asked impatiently again.

‘I hate talking to naive-looking little girls like this one! She’s so stupid. How else am I supposed to make her understand?’

“Are you Nicholas Wolfe’s girlfriend?” Bianca asked.

Daphne suddenly heard the water boiling. She looked at Bianca, then turned around and put the noodles into the pot and stirred them with a spoon.

“Hey, woman!” Bianca called out to her.

Daphne jumped. She turned around and stared at Bianca in surprise.

‘Unless I’m mistaken, this pretty woman is trying to find out if I’m Nicholas’s lover?’

“You must be mistaken. There’s nothing between Nicholas and me,” Daphne explained.

‘Although Nicholas has been threatening me and wants me to be his lover. But I don’t want to!’

“Really?” Bianca eyed Daphne suspiciously.

Daphne shrugged before turning around and focusing on the noodles in the pot.

‘It’s up to her if she wants to believe me. My conscience is clear.’

“How about this? I’ll give you some money, and you can move to another city. Don’t ever show your face in front of Master Nicholas again. Stay away for at least half a year!”

Bianca believed that it was much safer to have Daphne stay far, far away. That way, she would have more time to accomplish her goal.

Daphne checked the boiling noodles in the pot and turned to fire off. Then, she turned around, looked at Bianca in the eye, and said, “I will not leave this city. I was born here. I grew up here. I have family here too. I’m not interested in your Master Nicholas. In fact, I’d be ever so grateful to you if you could keep him even closer to you!”

‘That way, I won’t have to resort to forced labor to pay my debt!’
