His flattering worked like a charm. If others found out that the merciless War God knew how to pick up girls, they would be shocked!

Wendy felt a sense of happiness in her heart. Like any woman, she liked to be praised.

She blushed. It was uncommon for her to have a conversation with men, but she did not have that feeling of dislike toward this security guard.

"Me? Beautiful? My daughter is already five years old. I’m just an old woman."

Wendy shook her head.

James immediately said, "If you’re an old woman, I think those female celebrities should just jump off a bridge. If I can marry a wife like you in the future, I’d be so happy."

Wendy felt very happy but still maintained a stern expression.

She thought about it and suddenly asked, "You’re not married?"

"Divorced, no wife!"

James immediately denied it, his expression a little sad.

After she heard that, Wendy's eyes suddenly brightened. She then walked around the room like she was thinking about something extremely important.

Around ten minutes later, when James could not help but want to open his mouth, Wendy said, "If you want, join my company as a security guard tomorrow. Remember to bring your household registration documents and ID card..."

At this point, Wendy was blushing inexplicably. Her attitude toward him changed once more. She pointed at the door and said unceremoniously, "Please leave now, I want to rest!"

James was stunned for a moment. Women were confusing. She was fine just now, but she suddenly did a 360.

‘Why do I need to bring my household registration documents to be a security guard for her company?’

Of course, James would not stay where he was not wanted. As soon as he walked out of the door, he heard the door slamming hard behind him.

He shook his head. It seemed that there was a long way to go to get his wife's forgiveness.

He had come to the Pyrus district to work as a security guard for Wendy. James called to resign that night itself and walked off without his last salary.

James did not sleep well all night. He arrived at Canning Tower early the next morning.

Just as James reached the building entrance, a Buick car drove over and stopped beside him.

When the car window was wound down, Wendy's beautiful but indifferent face greeted him.

"Get in!"

"Oh."

When James got in the car, Wendy asked coldly, "Have you brought your ID card and household registration documents?"

"I have. You want to see them?"

James was about to take the documents out, but Wendy rolled her eyes at him. "I don't have so much idle time to waste with you. I’m just making sure that you have all the necessary documents."

Wendy stepped on the accelerator and drove away from Canning Tower.

Now, James was curious. "Didn't you say that you’re hiring me as a security guard? Where are we going?"

"Shut up, you'll know when we get there."

Wendy was a woman with a temper.

What was her plan?

James had no clue what was going on.

Soon, the car stopped in front of the marriage registration office. When James saw the big red sign of the marriage registration office, he was taken aback. He asked, "What are we doing here?"

"You don’t have a wife, yes? Do you want a wife? Let’s get married!"

Wendy blushed and glared at him.

"Get married? Yes! I want a wife!"

James was really overjoyed. If he had not worn his seat belt, he would have jumped out of the car from the excitement

"Calm down, it’s nothing but a fake marriage. We would be a nominal couple, sleeping in different rooms and different beds. I just think that you’re not too bad for a man, and I don't want my daughter to not have a father. Moving forward, you’ll be working as a security guard in my company. You can choose not to go to work if you don't want to work. I'll give you 10,000 dollars every month. As long as you treat my daughter with sincerity, I can increase your pay. What do you think?"

Wendy was quite satisfied with James' character.

Now that Bella was older, the little girl clamored for her father every day. In her kindergarten, Bella was being bullied and looked down upon for not having a father.

It did not matter if Wendy was wronged. She did not want to see her daughter hiding in the room crying every time she came back from kindergarten.

Moreover, the issue of her daughter's registration had yet to be resolved.

After being rescued by James last night, Wendy decided to engage in a fake marriage with him.

"Yes, I want a wife! Yes please!"

James nodded like a chicken pecking at rice.

It really was a pie in the sky. He had those two bastards last night to thank. James was very excited.

He did not expect to be able to be married to his wife so soon. In no time, he would have all the rights in the world to see his daughter.

Wendy’s mood was very complicated, which was a stark contrast to James who was ecstatic.

‘I didn't expect that my life would be so bitter. I was raped and am now marrying a random just like that. There’s not even a wedding.’

She sighed softly and said, "Remember, my daughter's name is Bella Summer."

"Where’s her father?"

James could not help but ask.

Hearing James' question, Wendy's face immediately turned pale. There was a trace of anger and fear in her teary eyes.

"Shut up!"

She was beyond furious. "Get this in your head! This is a fake marriage. Don't ask questions that you shouldn't ask. Just focus on what you need to get done."

After a long silence, James nodded slowly and said, "Okay, I see."

At that moment, he felt extremely bitter.

It seemed that Wendy really hated her ‘rapist’.

The initial joy in James' heart was gone. He had mixed feelings about what just happened.

"This is a prenuptial agreement. Check it out and sign it if you have no issue with it."

Wendy handed the agreement to James.

After a cursory look, James could only smile bitterly. The contract outlined that they could not share a room, and he must listen to her and follow all her rules. Otherwise, he would have to pay a penalty of ten million dollars.

Ten million dollars was nothing to James.

Wendy breathed a sigh of relief after she saw James sign the agreement without any hesitation and fingerprinted it. "It’s just in case. I don't want to end up with a wolf in my house. Don't worry, as long as you keep to your end of the bargain, I will increase your salary."

Soon, they got out of the car and walked into the marriage registration office.

After the two got their marriage certificate, they returned to Canning Tower. The whole thing took about an hour.

When James and Wendy walked into the building elevator, they unexpectedly bumped into Yvette Fuller who was coming out of the elevator. She looked pale.

Since the celebration dinner, everyone from the Fuller family and Zack Larson had been vomiting and having diarrhea for three full days in the hospital. That was why, Yvette, who was just discharged from the hospital, looked haggard.

However, no one believed that it was James’ doing. They all thought that it was food poisoning.

"It's you?"

She looked at the security uniform on James and said in contempt, "You think we won’t know that you paid for some extras that day?"

"I didn't expect you to come here to be a security guard. I thought you had something good going on and that’s why you divorced me. Haha, you’re still trash."

‘This is James' ex-wife?’

When Wendy heard Yvette's mocking tone, she immediately felt disgusted by her.
