Chapter 5: Human Umbrella.

Alyia's POV. 

I spent my rest day inside my condo. I didn’t want to show up at people. I'm sure that all of them are just going to stare at me until I melt. 

I rolled my eyes and turned off the television. When I stood up and took little steps to my room, I caught Cosmos staring at me.

“Quit staring. It's weird.”, I said that made him turn his gaze to the television and back at me again.

“What? It's 8 pm already. Aren’t you going home?”, I asked him.

I saw him turn his attention to the wall clock. 

“Uhm I don't really have a uhm..”, I raised a brow when I heard him stuttering.

“You don't have a what?”, I asked and went to the kitchen. 

He followed me there.

“Ma'am, Can I stay here? I didn't bought a house.”, he said as he slightly scratched the back of his neck. 

I sighed in disbelief. 

“Where will you sleep, then? In my room? Hell no!”, I exclaimed and opened the fridge. 

“U-uhm… I can sleep there. If it's okay?”, he asked while pointing at the sofa. 

I got a box of fresh milk and nodded at him. I translated the fresh milk in a glass. 

“You can sleep there. Just make yourself comfortable, then.”, I said and took steps towards my room. 

When I got in my room, I put the glass of fresh milk on my side table. 

I did my skin care and changed my clothes in a red velvet pajamas. 

After I did those stuffs, I quickly laid on my bed. I stared at the ceiling for a couple of minutes. When I felt a little sleepy, I drank the glass of milk, closed my eyes and I expected that I can sleep peacefully. 

Minutes passed, I felt irritated because I couldn’t sleep! For God's sake! 

I stood up, grabbed a pillow and blanket. I didn’t notice that my feet took me to my living room.

Staring at people while sleeping isn't really my thing but I'm doing it now to Cosmos. 

I slightly slapped myself. I am being weird just like this guy! Argh! 

Holding the blanket and a pillow, I went near him. I can't take my eyes off of his calm face. 

He didn’t look like irritating and weird while he's sleeping, though. Who would've thought that his calm face while his asleep, can be the most irritating face when he's awake. 

I stared at his face. From his weeping eyes, his well-defined nose, his kissable lips and also his pinkish cheeks. This moment, I know he's not unattractive. He can be accepted in any job but why being my bodyguard was the one he chose? 

I covered him in the blanket and put the pillow by his side. After I did those, I quickly took steps back to my room. 

When I laid on my bed, I fell asleep quickly.

I woke up because of a loud alarm. I softly rubbed my eyes and turned my gaze to my phone that was so loud. 

The moment I got my phone, I stared at it. I red the title of the alarm. 

“M-mom and D-dad's Death Anniversary.”, my voice was stuttering. 

I stood up, not minding the alarm. I grabbed my robe and went inside the bathroom. 

My whole body shook when I remembered what day it is. The title of the alarm sinked in my mind. It's my parents' death anniversary! 

Am I that bad to forget that? My mind has been occupied because of the happenings lately. 

I took a long bath, brushed my teeth and came out from the bathroom with my robe that's covering my whole body. 

I was inside my walk in closet when I heard three continuous knocks.

“Yes?”, I shouted and went out from my walk in closet holding my clothes. 

“Ma'am, Ma'am Iya called and she needs us to be at your shoot at exactly 9 am. Are you up already?”, Cosmos' voice shouted from outside. 

“Of course I'm already up! Who do you think answered you? A ghost? Stupid.”, I said in a irritated tone of voice. 

I heard a chuckle from him that made me roll my eyes. 

“I'm getting ready! I will go downstairs if I'm done so go away!”, I shouted again and heard footsteps walking away. 

I picked a peach marie sleeve, paired with a white skinny and white stilettos. I applied a very light makeup and stared at myself at the mirror. When I got contented with my look, I grabbed my clutch. 

I took steps downstairs and saw Cosmos in his uniform.

“Let’s go.”, I said and led the way.

“Where are you going, darling?”, Mommy Iya asked when she saw me grabbed my clutch and stood up.

I just finished my schedule for this day and it's past 5 pm. I have to go to the cemetery. I won't let this day pass without visiting my parents. 

“Something important.”, I said and quickly took steps out of the room. 

I didn’t let Cosmos to go with me. I'll just cry and cry in front of my parents' grave and I don't want him to see that side of me. 

I wore my aviators and got a taxi to drive me to the cemetery. 

When I arrived, I walked towards my parents' grave and felt my heart beat fastened. 

After one year, I'm going to visit the grave of my parents' again. I had this ritual that every year, I'll visit them and tell them what happened to me in a year. 

“Hi, mommy and daddy. I'm here again. Sorry if I almost forgot about your death anniversary. You can be mad at me, I'll understand.”, I let out a weak chuckle.

“Mom, did you know that I won the best actress of the year at your favorite awarding? I fulfilled my promise so you should be proud of me there.”

“Dad, what really happened to you? Is the article about your death true? Please, answer me. I'm really confused.”, I said and started to pour tears from my eyes. 

I wiped the tears that escaped from my eyes and let out a deep sigh. 

“Am I really a bad daughter for not having an investigation about your death. I didn't know what to do back then. I was just 19 years old. I need guidance. Please, forgive me for not being a perfect daughter you want me to be. Forgive me, daddy.”, 

I can't stop my eyes from crying so I let it all out. I stood there like that, holding a bouquet of white flowers. 

When I felt a droplet of rain hit my face. A sign that a rain is coming. 

I stayed there like that. 

A light rain started to pour but that didn’t make me leave. I want to stay here longer. I miss my parents so bad. 

The light rain became a heavy one. Raindrops hit my face but later on, I didn’t felt one that made my brows furrowed and turned my gaze at the umbrella that is currently protecting me from the rain.

“I can be your umbrella when you just can't stand the rain anymore.”, Cosmos smiled that made me hug him and cried while I'm wrapped in his arms. 

“Hush. Everything's going to be okay.”, he said while caressing my back. 

I felt comfort while embracing his arms that day that I've been searching for a long time.
