Chapter 3

“So why are you looking for a house mate then?” I asked. “Are you one of those psychopath who lures in people with your big house, nice neighborhood almost non-existent rental payment cause if you are, I might have to let you know, I have a friend the size of a fucking tank. He’s huge and could crush you and he knows I’m here.” I said in an annoyingly honest way to warm him and to let him know that I can outlive scams. I’ve done it before, just so you know. No matter how handsome a stranger is, you don’t trust them.

“How I wish—if I am a psychopath, I would be smarter than that.“ He smugly smirked at me and crossed his arms. “This whole thing isn’t actually my idea. My friend, who probably knows your friend that told you this place is up for a renter said I could probably use a roomie. I was looking for one back then but no one would approach, they probably think it’s a fraud or some bullshit like that. Just like exactly how you thought.”

I simply looked at him with a dumbfounded expression. So he was sort of set up? “Oh.”

“You find that weird?”

“No! I mean… a little bit. I feel like I’m intruding now—are you sure you’re okay with having a flat-mate here?” I cautiously asked.

“I’m hardly home anyway, dude I’m 27 years old, I have a life outside home like a normal dude since I didn’t get to party when I was in college.” Trent chuckled and leaned.

“Ouch, I’m 27 yet my life only revolves around work and well—home.”

“That’s alright. Some people doesn’t really like going out.” He assured and led me back to the kitchen. “Would you like something to drink? I have several options here.”

“Water is fine.” I said and he handed me a bottle from the fridge. “I hope you’re okay with tortoises. I have one.”

“I’m cool with anything that doesn’t poop anywhere and doesn’t destroy my furniture.” He said with a laugh and helped himself to some juice. “Let’s have a toast to a beautiful friendship that’s about to happen?”

“To a wonderful friendship.” I said and raised my bottle.

Little did I know, this would be the start of my life’s turning point.

---

Did you ever had that feeling where you are so annoyed at something that you want to probably—just probably want to poison their food? And then set their laundry to fire, as well as their fucking Reventon and their thousands of dollar shoes collection?

Cause living with a 27 year old messy—no not just messy, extremely and to the high heavens messy, what do I even call this one, a man? Too mature for how he’s acting. A child? Too innocent to be a comparison. Let’s just label him as an animal.

A really fucking messy animal that puts road kill to shame.

“Is this underwear that I find in the sink or is this April fool’s in June?” I call out sarcastically to the animal who is eating by the counter while I am decked on my fucking apron and cleaning equipment in a weekend that was supposed to be spent in my bedroom while I watch Netflix while bingeing on ice cream.

Trent just fucking looked at me apologetically before snickering as if he’s enjoying whatever hell I am in.

I moved in with Trent Fucking Easton three months ago. As you can see, the man did offer me a really questionably low amount to be paid each month when I inquired here and since I want to live in this neighborhood so bad, I accepted it with the condition that I clean and cook for him—not at all times, but some other time.

It’s only have been three months and I fucking curse like a sailor with how he drives me up to the wall.

I passed him another glare and he laughed before placing his plate on the sink. “You know, Trent, I’m hiring a maid.”

“Aww, sweetheart, you are supposed to look after our home like the good wife you are, great breakfast by the way. I really love… sausages.” He said, whispering the last parts into my ear hotly making me blush.

There. Another reason for me to kill this guy. The flirting.

I am gay, incredibly gay that I make Barney straight. And living with a 6’2 foot of pure, pulsing beautifully sculpted man that god took his time making just infuriated the gay out of me given that he’s totally my type—physically anyways, the man is a pig.

He’s really messy that makes me question his way of living but he has a great personality—not that great actually but still. I’m sure this guy sold his soul to a devil to get this looks and being flirted by a guy like this—just makes my cookie crumble and my heart flutter in the wrong times.

I am not looking for this right now.

“Stop it.” I glared and rubbed my ear. “I’m serious Trent, with the mess you’re making every day, I’m impressed this hasn’t turned to a pigsty yet.” I said with my hands on my hips. “Even Popcorn’s tank isn’t this messy.” I said, referring to my turtle.

“That’s because you make your friend look after it, besides, when are you taking your little tortoise home?” He asked, leaning by the counter as he watched me clean the dishes and pots.

“If you start cleaning up, I can’t look after two pets at the same time.” I said and Trent snorted.

“What happened to the timid little Ashley from the last three months? Where did that cute little Ash go?” He teased and I just rolled my eyes.

If this guy is not as bad as how he keeps his room, I would consider pursuing him. Then again, I don’t have much time anymore.

“That Ashley got buried in trash.” I deadpanned. “Anyway, I’m going to clean your room after I get groceries so leave and do something useful by then, honey.” I said, teasingly adding the endearment.

Trent just smirked at the playfulness as I got around to throwing the rubber gloves to dry before proceeding to dry the dishes off and arranging them neatly by the racks and drawers.

“Actually, let me come with you to the grocery store, I have to grab a few things too.” He said and opened the fridge. “Damn we need more sprite.”

“You and your obsession with sprite and last time we went to the store together you flirted with half the staff.” I pointed out before checking the pantry on what to buy.

“It’s not my fault I’m handsome, blame it on the genes.” Trent smirked and threw a shirt on.

“Damn you and your genes.” I threw the apron back at the rack before grabbing my wallet and keys.

“Goodbye.” I deadpanned and he laughed before following me.

I smiled and took his hand to mine with a gentle squeeze as if to say ‘nothing will change’.“I want to know.” I said and sighed. “You… you matter to me more than you think you do, my darling.”He does and I want to know what’s going on. Chapter 43“Darling, please, talk to me. Get angry.” Ashley pursed his lip as he looked at me with watery eyes. “Don’t look at me with that gaze. I… It hurts. I feel like I’d rather see you lashing out in anger than you looking at me like you’re disappointed at yourself. Darling, Trent…you should be disappointed at me!” He begged, pearly tears falling down his cheeks.Silence occupied the room. Only the sound of the machines—the whirring of the air condition and my own heartbeat is the only thing I can hear—along with Ashley’s sniffles.I am upset. Of course. That would be a given. I was so worried and I am so fucking angry that I am not a person Ashl

The little boy sniffled yet again as he nodded his head, tears falling down his eyes as he wiped the snot in his node with the sleeves of his shirt. The man crouched, not minding his white robes being sullied with dirt as he smiled at the boy and wiped his tear stricken face with a clean handkerchief.“M-my mom told me to grab her sleeve but I let go to see the fishes, now I can’t find her.” The boy said and the man just patted the little boy on the head.
