"Can I have my wrist back?" I stared down at her hand that softly clutched my wrist like a bracelet and she released me.

I carried my plate and averted my gaze to Cameron who was silent throughout the entire conversation that I forgot he was even present. I gave him a small nod and my eyes fell on my mother once more.

"I'll be in my room." I croaked, fighting back the welled up tears in my eyes.

After washing my plate, I heaved a sigh of relief when I got into the warm place I called my room. With my back plastered on the already closed door, I rested the back of my head with my eyes shut.

Slowly, a tear trickled down my left cheek and another followed it's path. I couldn't hold it in anymore. It felt like my body was being weighed down by a grand piano, making me feel helpless.

"No..." Maya said softly and my ears picked up the sound of her light footsteps towards where I stood. "Don't do that, please."

She enveloped me in a hug and held me tight like it was going to be our last–my hands hung beside me with my shoulders fallen.

"Everything would be fine," she said softly.

"I doubt." I muffled and hugged her back with my eyes open.

I didn't see why you tie the knot with someone to separate after two kids. To think that I wanted to be like my parents with my significant other. Wasn't marriage for better for worse?

Few hours ago I was upset my father was too busy being chief of police–totally forgetting my parents were filing for a divorce. I cried a little in Maya's arms before she led me to my bed.

"I want you to know that I love you and I'm always here for you." She swiped a tear off my cheek and gave me a small smile, which I tried to mirror but failed.

"Thank you." It came out more like a whisper and I couldn't ask the Lord for a better human diary. Maya was absolutely the best.

"Remember we have a party to attend." She shoved me playfully. "And Bellamy would be there."

I snapped my head up and felt a light tug in my heart. The piano was gradually lifted from my shoulders.

"Shut up!" My eyes widened before I smiled slowly. "Did I tell you he spoke to me on Friday?"

"Shut up!" Maya beamed and amusement flashed in her eyes. She slapped her laps and waited for me to tell her everything.

"I'm dead serious." I nodded my head and laid on my back. "He introduced himself and said he had been seeing me around but never got the chance to say hello."

"Gee!" Maya shouted gleefully with a hand over her mouth. "But-"

She hesitated and I rolled my eyes. Here we go again. She was going to make her distaste for him known to me.

"Listen." She shook me with her hands on both shoulders. "Why is he talking to you all of a sudden?"

"Beats me. I don't care, as long as I got to tell him how much I love him." I smiled with dreamy eyes.

"Are you-" she gasped. "As if! I know you. You're always duhhh duhh dumbo when he's around."

We snickered and there was a light knock on my door, drawing my attention away from Maya who was yapping about not liking Bellamy because he was popular.

"We aren't nerds you know." I pointed a fact to her before getting to my feet.

The door creaked open and my mother peered her head into my room. Her black hair was packed in a messy bun with loose strands plainly laying around her fore head.

She stepped into my room and the air became thick with something I couldn't place my finger on.

"Your father said to tell you he'll be coming around to take you for some ice cream tomorrow." Dry toned my mother and I responded with a nod.

Just as she turned, Maya stepped on my feet and mouthed 'tell her about the party.'

"Mom." I called and she spun immediately like she had been waiting for me to reach out to her.

"Yes?" Her eyes brightened. "You want me to tell your father you can't go?"

"Mum, I and Maya would be going for a project at a friends house," I said,  while looking at my feet. "And I'll go with dad to get some ice cream tomorrow."

"What project?" she questioned, her eyes never leaving my face and I looked at Maya for help.

"We were paired into groups and asked to show the beauty of fashion and arts. We choose paintings and also picture taking." Maya said with confidence.

Wow! What a very stupid reason. I widened my eyes at Maya, but to my surprise mom accepted.

"Ok, but don't be late," she said. "You can tell me if you don't want to go out with your father."

"Mom, I'll be fine." I assured her. With that, she left my room and when we were sure she had gotten into her room–we squealed.

"You see, I'm a genius." Maya praised her self.

"Yeah, in being stupid. It was a very stupid thing to say," I said sharply, while bringing out my cloths from my wardrobe.

"Hey, did you have a better idea?" She asked sarcastically.

Maya picked a golden colored fitted dress for me and a red dress for her.

I put on my dress and just as I was about to look at the mirror she shouted.

"Wait! Don't look yet. I'm not done with you."

"Okay, I wouldn't," I said, confused.

She sat me down in front of my mirror and started doing stuffs to my hair with a curling iron.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed when the iron touched my skin by mistake. "Thank you!" I shouted.

"What, Was I meant to say sorry?" she raised a brow up.

"Off course, bitch!" I stepped on her left foot and she squealed.

"Eureka! I'm done!!" She exclaimed and asked me to turn around.

I saw a total different me. All buttered up in light make up. I had a golden colored fitted dress that etched to my body like a second skin. It was above my knees and brought out my curvy hips. My hair was done in brown beautiful curls that rested on my shoulders.

"Wow!" I said in amusement.

"I know right? You look hot and I am taking full credit for it." She winked.

"It's my turn." She took her dress to the bathroom and did all her make up shits in it.

"Tada! How do I look?" she walked out of the bathroom and did a three sixty for me to see.

She wore a red, sweet heart neckline, fitted dress and black flats just like mine. Well, they were mine. She had this pretty ear rings that made her light blue eyes to sparkle.

She tossed her long loose curls and sent them cascading down her back. Okay, to be honest she looked stunning.

"Do you think Cammie would like this?" She pointed to her outfit.

"Maybe." I answered, showing no sign of interest with a slight roll of my eyes.

My brother looked like a duck so what did she find so amusing in him?

"You think he'll ever notice me?"

"ER, have you forgotten he's my brother and we hate each other?" I furrowed my brows. We didn't hate each other, we just fought like every brother and sister.

"You don't have a problem with me liking him right?" She stared at my marble floor.

"Nope, I don't even care about him." I laughed hysterically.

My phone vibrated on the table, hinting at a message.

Unexpected rebound.    Chapter 84

We reached the hospital in good health and got down in front of the building as usual. Tristan parked and made his way to us so we could go in together. I got into Cameron's room with Tristan behind me and Maya waiting outside for us to bring her in. It was my plan to surprise Cameron. "Cammie!" I yelled, running past my mother to hug him on the bed. He looked so weak and appeared like someone that hadn't eaten in weeks. Of course, he hadn't; he had been in a coma, struggling to stay alive and mother had been with him throughout. There was no other human genuine love like that of a mother–cherish her if you still see her everyday. "Hey... Baby sister." He rubbed my head

My brows knitted in a frown and I was more than confused. What the hell was this girl yapping about? "Me?" I pointed at my chest and she removed the pillow from her face. "No, me." She backed me. "What did I do?" I inquired, bumping my brows together. They were already starting to hurt–I had been doing too much of frowning. She ignored me for a while before opening up. "You keep being all mushy mushy around me when you know what happened between me and Cammie." "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel that way." I apologized, reaching out a hand to touch her shoulder. "Stop." She snapped, shoving my hand

Unexpected rebound.    Chapter 82

The warmth of sunlight caressed my skin and I smiled with my eyes closed, enjoying how waking up in the morning to being strong and healthy felt. I turned to face the door and smiled even brighter when I remembered today was the day Cameron would return.Where is Maya? My subconscious asked when I noticed I was alone one the bed.I opened my eyes and raised my head to look around the room. After sighting her body sprawled on the floor, I chuckled and returned my head back to my white pillow.Suddenly, a deafening scream made it's way into my room–I jerked, my heart leapt into my throat. What had happened?"No!" The voice sounded like that of my mother.Instantly, I sat up and wondered what was going on. Were we getting robbed? My hands clutched my duvet close to my chest and I fixed my gaze on the door."How did it happen?" She asked breathl

"Where are we going?" I asked, oblivious about where he was driving this car to. "Tristan?" "My house, baby. Calm down." He finally spoke and I heaved a sigh of relief. "I'm not sure your maid would want to see me again." I voiced and he chuckled softly. "She was only mad at you that day because you made me sad, nothing else. Now I told her we're cool so she's actually eager to see you." He explained and my mind wandered off to a dirty place in my head that reminded me of the nasty things that might have transpired between the both of them. Nah, I shook my head and kicked those thoughts out. She had a big booty didn't mean Tristan would go around feasting on it, did it? "Okay." I m

We were seated in a nice restaurant that Tristan had claimed to be where he used to come with his parents when he was a kid. Cliche much?I sucked the straw that was in my can of coke and continued to chew on my bruschetta. Why didn't he tell me it was a fancy place? I would have dressed up in a nice evening dress she not this."They serve really good meals right?" He questioned and I nodded my head.I stabbed a piece of chicken and stuffed it in his mouth. He chewed and swallowed with a beautiful smile on his face. I raised my can of coke so he could suck on the straw, but he refused."Nah, I got my juice." He shook his head and I noticed this wasn't the first time that he had rejected a can of coke from me."You don't like coke?" I asked, placing the can back on the table."Yeah, because of caffeine.""What about caffeine?""It triggers

He squeezed my butt again and I could feel my inbetween becoming moist. He trailed his hand up my neck and nibbled on it, almost earning a moan from me. "Tristan..." I moaned, trying to resist him. "Chloe is in the house, we can't fool around in the kitchen." "Then let's go to the room." He whispered on my neck, tingling my skin with with his breath. "No, this is not my house. Stop being a hormonal teenager." I gently pushed him away, but Tristan was the devil's advocate. He strolled sexily behind me and gave me one of those my favorite hugs from behind. I rested my head on his arms and enjoyed the moment. "We're not in my house remember?" I snapped my fingers and he sn

I rested my back on the bench that was beside the principal's office and tapped my fingers impatiently on it, waiting for Andre to come out from the place I dreaded. I hated going to the principal's office, my reputation was something I never wanted to spoil. Well, the dare thing tarnished my ima
