When We Smiled
Author: Leilani JacksonTwo years prior
Ava threw her shoulders back and tilted her head. She was sporting a smirk slicker than an old cat from Augusta. Her freshly painted stiletto nails scratched against her paralegal's large pinky ring as she snatched her new promotion detail memo from his bony fingers. Looking him dead in the eye -with the help of her actual stilettos- she cockily blurted out "But I'm always going to be a nobody. Right Shaun?"
Due to her age the skeptism she received from everyone within the company was constant. Especially from the older lawyers and paralegals. His irritation was apparent and Ava took delight in it.
Before the homely man could respond she bounded through her new office doors and plopped down into her leather seat.
She would be the new head of the board of directors for Atlanta's most successful legal agency. B&R's affirmative action was a criminal defense firm that only took clients with deep pockets and only employed lawyers with flawless resumes. Astonishingly Ava was only seventeen when she was hired. The first African American teenager to successfully obtain a PHD and pass the state bar. Even more surprising to her employers that she had just graduated not only from Georgia State University but Stephenson high school simultaneously.
She had been involved in the dual enrollment program since she was 10 years old, completing middle and high school courses along with her college courses with ease.
A small knock on her door pulled her from her internalized gloating.
"Ms.Smith , there's a Mr.Jackson here to see you."
That's all Ava needed to hear. She jumped up from her seat and walked towards the double doors of the Congressional meeting room. Yanking open the oak fixture she drank in the sight of her fiance, Damien Jackson. 6'1, dark as vanilla, with eyes green enough to mistake for water. His full lips curved into a sarcastic and knowing smirk of his own, flashing the shallow dimples under his high cheekbones.
Her knees felt non existent and those "teenage hormones" were in full effect.
"Why are you here?" She heard herself whine. She sounded nothing like the "Sword tongue devil" they called her in the courtroom. She click clacked her way over to the seat he was leaning on and propped her feet on the mahogany table.
"Your momma asked me to come remind you that we are expected at her house tonight, since you don't know how to answer your phone." His deep voice wrapped around her spine sending waves of heat to her clit. Her hands got clammy and she averted her eyes.
Sure enough her Galaxy S8 was laying on her desk in her office with less life than a corpse. With a childlike pout and sigh she bent over to plug up the phone and Damien's own smirk disappeared. He felt himself stiffen and couldn't resist the want to taste her. He'd be lying to himself and anyone else if he said this woman didn't turn him on just by...being.
At almost nineteen years old her body was a slim yet curvy attention grabber. Her soft pink pencil skirt hugged her hips and waist, stopping just above her defined calves. The beige blouse she wore was undone by two buttons, exposing her almond colored skin and the top of her breast. The white bra she wore and her cleavage peaked at him as he stood over her. Her dark hair was styled in a pixie cut, accentuating her heart shaped face. Those already pouty, rose colored lips were drawn in a deeper pout and he wanted nothing more than to take her bottom lip in between his teeth.
Finally she looked up at him and he almost lost it. Those hazel eyes and thick lashes were begging him to do whatever he wanted.
Ava opened her mouth completely intending on giving him a sassy reply for him to relay to her mother when she found herself being lifted off of her feet.
"Damien PUT ME DOWN!" She squeaked.
Ignoring her request he pushed the fabric up to her mid thigh and wrapped her legs around his waist. Holding her by her thighs he strode over and cracked open the door with one hand peaking around the corner to see if anyone was there. Of course with it being six thirty, the only people crazy or unlucky enough to still be there would be interns and paralegals. Damien shifted Ava's body, carrying her bridal style. He quickly turned back and closed the door to her office, seriously debating weather or not to throw her over his shoulder cave man style with all the fussing she was doing.
"Damien we're not gonna do what you think we're gonna do, we're gonna be laaaate!" Ava chirped as she wiggled her way to freedom and ran behind her desk.
He pushed switch controlling the tint of the window facing the inside of the main floor, turning them pitch black. The windows facing the city on the other hand were crystal clear. 285 was lit up with headlights of working ATLiens making their way home. The sun was sitting low and he was positive nobody cared what was going on in the large office sitting twenty two levels above ground.
He grinned mischievously at his wife to be. "Just give me five minutes?"
"Nope!" She giggled as he chased her around the desk.
"Okay two minutes?!"
Now Ava was in a full out cackle, "Now you know and I know that you know two minutes ain't even a thing with you!"
Damien slid over her desk landing squarely in front of her, stopping her in her tracks.
"Uh oh" she breathed.
He quickly lifted her up, setting her on the very edge of her desk, simultaneously pushing her skirt up to sit on her hips.
Ava blushed deeply. Not being able to slap his hands away since hers were holding his shoulders to keep her from falling backwards. Besides it was quite obvious that that wasn't what she wanted anyway. Her white lace boy shorts were practically soaked with her excitement.
Damien bent his head down into the crook of her neck, biting and kissing his way down. Even peppering her collarbones until he reached her cleavage. Her breathing became heavy and her well manicured nails dug into his shirt. She slid her hands down to his belt quietly snatching his handcuffs from their place in his utility belt. His own hands were now holding her by the little of her back. Quickly she reached behind her and snapped a cuff around each wrist. Sliding under his arm and off the desk she danced out of his reach and began to fix her clothes.
"Let's go big head, I'm positive my momma is waiting on us and growing more upset by the second."
Damien grunted in frustration, cursing as struggled to get the key out of his belt and free himself.
Ava grabbed her purse and phone, "You know, I think some restraint would do you some good. Think about it, you chasing me with that man sausage is exactly why we're pregnant now."
Damien brought both hands up to his face and groaned see loudly. "Look we can make as many babies as you want, especially when you look like that!"
Ava laughed hysterically "You're twenty years old. We have careers, I cannot be barefoot and pregnant cause of your hot tail. Now come on!"
It was true, with Ava's support Damien graduated high school and saved seventy thousand dollars. His Junior year he'd join the Army reserves and completed training over the course of two summers as an 11Bravo. As soon as he was done with school he took his newly gained licencees and opened his own PI and security company. Together the both of them brought in over $250,000 annually. Of course he was still young and almost lost Ava and everything she helped him gained by letting the avoidable happen. Never again.
Ava was skipping out of the doors and leaving him clear behind. She was always ahead of him. He stood up and paced after her. Hands still handcuffed he grabbed hers and danced around thinking about her and her momma's cooking.
"So I guess I'm driving?" Ava said smirking up at him.
"I guess so" he smiled back.

Toxic Love My Man Is My Man
Ava pulled up a chair in front of Ally."Tell me something Ally...Why is it no one is ever sorry until they get caught?" Ally's screaming was barely muffled by the rag in her mouth. "Yea that's what I thought..It must not be as entertaining when everyone knows you're ruining families for fun." Ava placed a foot in the space between Ally's legs, balancing her own chair on one. "You know what's crazy...I remember when you asked me to come to my wedding. I begged my Nana to allow me to invite just one more person. But she wouldn't budge. She doesn't like strangers." Ava moved her foot, the chair falling on all four legs. "Do you remember when you told me he told you t

Cause I keep burning out at top speed."Ava lay on the couch she fidgeted with the black string tied around her ankle as she got lost in the music drifting through her headphones. The string was a symbol of love given to her by Damien. When he was born his mother tied a string around his ankle due to his lack of a birth mark. For four years she wore it lovingly. She remembered the night he have it to her. Four years ago Ava turned her back to Damien, pulling her hair to the side. He reached and undid the button on her red silk mermaid dress. Placing soft kisses on her shoulders, his clammy hands moved to the zi
Toxic Love Do You Remember
Ava stared out of the bedroom window, she was lost. Lost in her marriage. Lost in thought. Lost in memories. She remembered her hero. They had just began dating. Damien waited outside the College Park train station, bouncing from foot to foot in the freezing October wind. The weather had been a little off this year. Ava hopped off of the bus, sprinting into his arms. He buried his fingers in her hair as she balled into his chest. It was his Senior year in highschool and her Junior. Ava was in every group available at Banneker High School to avoid being at "home". Participating in all ROTC groups and events, track and f
Toxic Love For Everybody
Five months laterAva's back arched off of the bed as he pulled in and out of her. His mouth crushing hers, swallowing her moans. It was a slow and maddening type of love they were making. Her legs shook and her nails dug into her palms as she held on for dear life. Ava felt the world around her melt. As he climaxed he pushed himself deep inside her. He rolled off of her kissing her on her neck, biting and sucking on her waist and hips. Leaving a trail of hickies on her inner thighs. Ava pulled at the handcuffs that kept her tethered to the bed. He kissed her calves and her feet, taking a toe in mouth one after another."I love you" he said taking all of her womanhood in her mouth. "I love you. I need you. I feel like I'm dying when I'm not with you." He rolled her clit on his tongue, taking it in between his teeth and sticking his finge
Toxic Love You Hurt Me, I Hurt You
Ava sat at her desk, stretching and yawning. Her computer screen a list of digits and cases. The two most important were concerning medical malpractice and a serial rapist on a college campus in North Georgia. A small knock on her door was her saving grace. "Mrs.Jackson you have a call on line one." "Who is it?" "A Mr. Eric, he didn't give a last name ma'am." Ava heart began pounding. "That's fine, put him through." Ava picked up the phone, "Hello Tyler."
Toxic Love Y.A.S.
Ava held baby Faith in her arms. Her small face was puckered, ready to eat. A tiny sigh escaped her little lips. Ava placed Faith on her left breast and struggled for twenty minutes to get her to latch. Faith's tiny sighs and huffs turned into large screams. "Well I guess I won't be breastfeeding" Ava muttered. She fixed the pre-made bottle of formula and gave it to Faith. Damien held his hands out, he and Faith would be inseparable in the few hours he would be home. It was like this everyday. He'd be at "work" for the better part of the day or sometimes night, then he'd be home for an even smaller portion. He would always give an excuse to leave. That was fine, Ava wasn't in the business of chasing, even if it's her husband. He cradled her head and body in his large hands, drawing her in towards his chest as always. "Hey sugarfoot" he cooed to her. Faith paused her eating
