CHAPTER 9

Since all Singto may do was feel the stress forming in his chest and spreading itself throughout his body, he couldn’t even truly concentrate on what was happening.

“Singto?” But he didn’t respond at all. He couldn’t get his eyes off of the ample quantity of dishes encompassing him, although it’s not that he wished to deliberately ignore them. He felt like he was drowning.

“Singto?” Krist repeatedly called him out, but still Singto couldn’t respond. Suddenly, he felt a foot kick him gently on his ankles bringing him back to the reality. With that, he saw Krist starting intensely towards him.

“Are you okay? Are you feeling sick because you simply haven’t touched something and that I was wondering?” He was asked by Emmie along with her voice filled with concern.

“Wh-what? I-I’m just… tired I guess. I haven’t extremely slept well, and that I guess, I’m feeling a bit out of it. I’m very sorry for that. But of course I’m not sick.” Even though he feared that he was creating things too obvious, he hoped that was convincing enough for them to believe him.

“Oh, no… that’s not really a problem! Uhmm... I’ll wrap up the food for you to eat at any time tomorrow, so why don’t you go change posture? Don’t worry about a thing though.” Singto courteously excused himself from the eating area table, and with that Emmie’s smile calmed his nerves that he was feeling. Instantly, he ran up the stairs and shut the sleeping room door behind him, not desperate to see or smell the food any longer than he already has.

From Krist’s perspective, he found Singto’s behavior a bit strange. Before asking Harvey and Emmie queries, he picked at his food first. “Did he eat at all while I was gone?”

Harvey cocked his head towards the facet, shocked at his line of questioning. “Hmmm… I brought him earlier some snacks, like chips and fruit just in case he got hungry before dinner.”

It had been odd for both Harvey and Emmie to envision Krist acted this manner towards somebody he has recently met and clearly, he was fazed by one thing. “Yeah, why did you ask?”

As Krist started obtaining negative thoughts in his mind, he answered. “No reason, I’m just wondering though.”

Before shrugging their shoulders, Harvey and Emmie shared a look first. It had been odd for them to envision Krist like this, even though they didn’t wish to go figuring this boy out since his ways are confusing at it is.

Right after exhaling out a large breath of air, Singto ran straight to the rest room and splashed some water on his face. Urgently, he required himself do this to cool down and also it seems like that the cold water was helping him get to wherever he required to be, mentally.

He stared at his own reflection within the mirror after patting his face dry. While facing the mirror, all he may notice was countless imperfection by simply staring right back at him with nothing in his eyes. He took off his saggy shirt slowly to reveal his brittle body along. How was he created it let him come back to the current he thought to himself, as he disgracefully left the rest room and grabbed an amendment of clothes before returning to take a hot shower.

He turned the shower handle and stepped in, feeling the rush of hot water beating his lifeless body. Having a big amount of hope that this may clear his mind and make him remains positive as he aims to try and do. Once cleansing his body and washing his hair, he decided to stand there for a number of additional minutes, desiring that he was somebody else for a change. Then perhaps he would be happy, and he wouldn’t perpetually notice new things to criticize, or maybe then he would truly love who he is because presently, he completely loathes himself.

Singto finally turned off the shower and stepped out, after a few minutes. He was glad that he didn’t have to see himself now as the mirror right now was foggy. He dried himself using the towel that he grabbed from the shelves close to the sink. Once he has made sure that he was semi-dry already, he placed on a fresh set of saggy clothes and ran a hand through his pitch-black hair. The air felt dry and his body was beginning to shiver. He brushed his teeth and washed his face once more, while not wasting any longer time. Before stepping out of the wet rest room, he first released a deep sigh that he was holding for quite a while, and finally made his approach towards his bed.

Immediately after putting his damp towel and his dirty clothes in a bin, he went beneath the covers and forces it up right over his head. He felt so disgraced and embarrassed by his own self to even expose his body to anyone, particularly Krist. He didn’t wish to be seen by anyone any longer. Singto curled his body up to the very top of the bed. He wished to be alone, because then at least he wouldn’t feel like he was bothering anyone along with his presence.

Singto instinctively shut his eyes tight when he heard the sleeping room’s door opened, and begged that Krist wouldn’t speak to him. It frightened him to assume that he may be confronted when he noticed how he was staring at him earlier. However, Krist didn’t say something. He went to rest room and shut the door behind him to take a shower. With that, Singto set free again the breath he was holding and tried to clear his mind.
