CHAPTER 7
Author: Nathan FrostEmmie felt it was going to be easier for Krist to settle in if he knew that his father was going to be nearby him. Having that said, she personally wished for the caregiver’s house to be the one nearest to her home. Her wish was granted as the caregiver’s house was only four miles far from her house. Given the gap between the two places, it solely takes roughly fifteen minutes to get there by car. Of course, Krist had no intention of using his mom’s car, primarily because he loves traveling on foot. So, for him it'll take more or less an hour or so to arrive. He loves going on walks or runs since it permits him to clear his head and get off from individuals. So, he didn’t mind it at all though.
Krist walked out from his mother’s house, and began to walk in a very steady pace with music blasting in his eardrums. It appeared like he’s enjoying the calm nature that encircled him. There was a cold breeze from the wind, which evened out the extreme heat coming from the sun. Krist extremely appreciates plain things that he finds himself drawn to when days like this, wherever the skies are clear and also the air is clean. He never really takes time to consider it, although he does get moments of joy once he’s alone.
Since he doesn’t have to be compelled to worry regarding having to talk and attempt to be kind to others, it makes him feel more relaxed. Krist is fully aware that he isn’t the foremost pleasant person to hang around and partially, he desires that he wasn’t like this. However regardless of how many times he tries, he continuously goes back to his ways. Perhaps he simply hasn’t met somebody that make him need to be different or change the way he's. Everybody he comes across is simply a waste of time, they're rude, solely do things for themselves and says one thing, but does one thing to contradict everything that they aforementioned before.
In Krist’s opinion, people simply can’t be trustworthy in his mind. Not even family. So, he doesn’t bother making an attempt once nothing good comes out of it. And with that note, he desires to meet somebody who can amend his mind. Perhaps he already has met them, who knows?
Singto hasn’t moved yet from the position that he was once roughly two hours has passed. Since he felt a bit flooded by all of the amendment he has gone through over the short amount of time, he didn’t actually need to try and do something. He stayed at the hospital yesterday as he watched the doctors and nurses carry his father on a stretcher full of speed over to the emergency room. At that moment, Singto couldn’t breathe, speak, or extremely think about what was happening. His father has a severely weak hear, which he passed on to his son. Indeed, Singto was already fully informed about his father’s condition. And in spite of that, he kept working hard over time and never allowed himself to catch a day-offs from his work. Of course, this results for him not to sleep or even rest, which resulted to situation like this.
Jansen, Singto’s father, was working double earlier that day when he got up too quick and all of the sudden came crashing to the ground. The person working together with him acted quickly and demanded for help. Shortly enough, Singto received an unexpected call and was brought over to the hospital with news that no son desired to listen to. His body felt cold and also the scent of the hospital provide him goose bumps all down his arms when he sat within the waiting area, along with his knees pulled up to his chin. He simply sat there waiting to hear some news, any news; however nobody came for the longest time. He didn’t sleep, he barely blinked. All of the employees were gentle and kind with him though, which let him feel slightly better.
Singto either was too lost in his thoughts that he didn’t reply, or he simply shook his head to decline something that they were giving to him ‘cause the hospital folks offered him anything or everything he might needed. As the hours went on, somebody came to him and delivered him the news. He couldn’t gather his words together as the shock of it had been prohibiting him from speaking. He could still recall the man’s voice as he started asking him queries. His eyes went icy-cold and his body felt dazed.
“I’m curious if you have somebody you wish to call by any chance? Or is any of your family around? Or did your father have any close friends who live in the area?”
Singto’s throat felt like it was burning and his heart was barely beating. Nothing came out from his mouth at that point. He suddenly felt the man’s huge hands on his shoulders, however Singto shook him off. He’s currently an orphan without a home to come back to as a switch flipped inside him at the conclusion that each of his parents is now dead. “I don’t extremely recognize anyone else close to me since my mother is already dead, except this one guy. He was a close friend with my father a-and he may know about my family background over I do.” Finally, Singto said once feeling his body shut down.
“That’s great somehow, please tell me his name and that we can contact him for you.”
Deep inside, Singto didn’t feel like he deserve all of this as he never would’ve thought that by following day he’d have home with kind individuals allowing him in with open arms, since these individuals hardly even recognize him.
Singto’s flashbacking has been interrupted when there was a knock on the door.
“Come in, please.” He softly spoke.
With a genuine smile plastered onto his face, Harvey entered the sleeping room as to where Singto was in. “Hey, I… uhmm… thought perhaps you’d like a snack?”
Singto looked to the various foods he was holding on his hands. His heart started beating so quick at the sight of it all. There was a bowl of fruit, a bag of chips and a bottle of water. Singto just smiled, attempting his hardest to look off from all the calories. “Thank you, Harvey.”
“No worries at all, Singto. Anyways, I’ll just leave it here for you and that I can return to let you know once dinner is prepared.” Before going away from the sleeping room, Harvey gave him one last smile and closed the door behind him after.
When Harvey shut the door, Singto was feeling glad about it, since he will currently do what he does when he’s forced to eat. He forced out a little notebook that he carries in his saggy pants wherever he goes.
