Chapter 7: Confusion

Marcus POV

I was walking through the hallway as we just finished our practice, so guys were waiting for me at the cantina while I showered and dressed.

The whole weekend I couldn't get that girl out of my mind since the moment I first saw her.

Shadow, my wolf, was jumping in my head since that day we first started to go here to school.

At first, I wasn't sure why he was acting up so strange, and then when I saw her in the cantina she took my breath away.

I can’t say for sure as Shadow said her inner animal was blocking him out, but when he said she might be our mate, that is when I flipped.

So this weekend I partied with my friends and still, her eyes would pop into my mind, so I did what I do the best, hooked up with a girl to forget the girl.

So here I am now running through the hallway as my heart was beating fast, can't be sure is it due to the fact I was running, to which I am used to and love, or because I will get to see that green-eyed beauty.

Arghh….what am I think?

Stop it!

Shadow was not helping either as he was consumed with the thoughts of the flashing images of her eyes, lips….Fuck

“I’m blocking you out!”

Finally having some peace and quiet in my head, I speed up ahead nearing the corner when it hit me all out of a sudden.

Lilies and dew…

Panicking, I tried to slow down but the next thing that happened, someone crashed into my chest, and I reacted instinctively as I saw her falling down on the floor, so I grabbed her and pulled her up.

Breathing deep and fast, her scent hit me like a bulldozer.

My mind was clouded as I was looking into her mesmerizing pools of green hearing her heartbeat racing the same pace as my own as the sparks flew from our contact.

Shadow's voice that broke the barriers frozen me making my eyes grew wide.

“MATE!”

I heard her breath hitched as I could see it in her eyes, the same realization dawned onto her.

And the next thing I heard, her soft low voice saying the same exact thing.

“Mate.”

Everything happened in a rush and blur after hearing that.

I found myself pressing her against the wall as I slammed my lips down onto hers.

I was feverishly kissing her.

Feeling her hands tug into my hair made my blood boil as lust was creeping inside of me.

Wanting…no, needing to taste her some more, my tongue licked gently over her lower lip as she readily parted her lips for me and I didn't waste any second as I dove right in and kissed her with all the feverish hunger that I had feeling inside of me.

My hands held her hips as my grip was tightening up, leaning my body over hers, slowly not braking up our kiss.

I could hear her heartbeat going erratic in her chest making me smirk into the kiss at how her body was reacting from my touch.

I have no idea how long we were there in the hallway, in school, kissing as we were both starved for each other.

Damn, she tastes so good.

My lips moved to kiss over her jaw and neck as her grip in my hair tightened even more getting me to feel a slight pleasurable pain which in result made me scrap over her collarbone with my teeth making her moan out in pleasure.

The second I heard her little moan, it was as reality came back crashing into me.

I pulled back as my breathing was frantic from our kissing, as my eyes were locked into hers.

I could read the desire in her eyes that was probably the same as in mine.

Fuck…what am I doing?!

Her eyes were wide as she closed them for a moment to try to compose herself.

As we were standing there looking at each other wide-eyed, I couldn't but take a closer look at her features.

Her long silky light brown hair with a little hint of light waves in it, hart faced shape, beautiful and flawless face, small perky nose, and plum pink kissable as fuck lips. But the most intriguing and captivating were those beautiful round pools of emerald color eyes.

I felt as I was under the spell by just looking into them.

“Mark!”

I heard a voice calling me and hurriedly we separated as I took a step back from her not losing eye contact in the process.

“Mark!”

I turned my head for a moment, as to look at who is calling for me and I realized I don’t have much time.

Turning back my head at her I felt my breath hitch in my throat as by seeing her again with her lips little swollen from my kiss.

Clearing my throat I forced myself to speak.

“What is your name?”

Her eyes were inspecting my face closer now as they wondered down over my body slowly.

If she keeps this up, I swear I will grab her and take her to an empty room….

Clearing my throat again for a second time, hoping I will get her attention, I repeated my question.

“What is your name?”

“Olivia.”

She spoke softly and I felt the need to grab her and hold her in my arms.

Fuck…this can’t be happening.

Cursing inside of my head at the MoonGoodess and her stupid play of a matchmaker, and my weakness that I felt when I grabbed her and kissed her….I heard her softly asking me my name.

I looked at her thinking…wishing that things were different.

I didn't want a mate…not yet at least, and now I found her and she is none other but a freaking Siren!

Knowing well that anyone who finds their mate from a different species, he or she is to reject that bond and move on.

I'll admit I said if that was ever to happen to me, it will be a piece of cake to say the words and walk away.

I was free, I had girls chasing after me, and I could do anything I wanted….but that was before I ran into Olivia.

Fuck….

How am I supposed to do that?

Just the thought of doing it is making me feel heartache in my chest and I am supposed to say that out loud?

Fucking Elders!!

Growling out at the train of my thought I saw her slightly jump.

Great now scare her to your asshole!

“Marcus…my name is Marcus.”

She smiled slightly as I answered and I heard her repeat my name.

“Marcus.”

Hearing her say my name was like a melody I wanted to hear more and more.

Shit Marcus, get a hold of yourself, you can’t be with her, she deserves better than you.

Taking a deep breath, I exhaled it slowly as I clenched shut for a second my eyes to somehow gather the courage and clear my head.

“Olivia…listen…”

As I started to speak I was interrupted by a pair of arms clinging on my neck as a body was pressed tightly into mine.

"Mark, baby, I was looking all over for you."

A low growl was heard, and my eyes snapped at Olivia as she covered her mouth.

As I was about to say something, she turned around and spoke to Olivia.

“Who are you?”

I could see Olivia trying to calm herself, and my hands were itching to hold her in my arms and help her to calm down.

Instead, I peeled myself off from grabbing arms and spoke.

"This is Olivia…she…we bumped into each other, and her books feel down, so I was about to help her gather them."

Olivia said nothing as her jaw was tight, and I could see a fire in her eyes.

Great…just what I fucking needed!

"Oh, that explains it then. Will you go with me to cantina baby?" she purred as her arms again came over my neck.

Exhaling as she was like a fucking octopus grabbing me nonstop.

“Sure.”

As I answered, I couldn't but not see a hurt pass through Olivia's eyes.

Before I was pulled away, I crouched down and gathered Olivia's books and hand them to her.

“I am sorry.”

As I said that, I walked away trying not to look back at her.

Entering the cantina, I saw Logan and Tanner as they waved us over.

Sitting down with them, my mind flew to my interaction with Olivia.

The next moment I saw her enter the cantina and go to her usual table, the only difference now was the table was full except for just one empty seat.

Watching her closely, I saw her take that seat which was next to the brown-haired asshole who just smiled at her and said something into her ear.

I couldn’t help the growl that escaped me which in return made her look at me.

"Baby, what is wrong?"

Trying to get myself in check before I take that asshole by his throat and throw him away from her, I turned towards my friends and tried to engage in a conversation with them all.

I felt a hand sliding over my biceps and a leaning of her body as she whispered.

“I can feel your tense baby, we can go somewhere and I can help you take away that tension out of your body?”

A chair fell down and the next thing I saw was Olivia rushing out of the cantina.
