Chapter 50 What Do You Want Me to Do?

On the other end of the phone, Yin Yin'er sounded sleepy. "Hmm? Zichen? What's wrong? Just tell me. Let me guess, did you fall in love with a girl in Miruo Kindergarten?"

Gu Zichen put his hand on his forehead helplessly and said, "No, I'll send you a drawing draft later. You have to finish it before noon and then bring the finished product to me. Can you do that?"

After a while, a document was sent to her cell phone.

She took the phone and looked at the draft on the screen. In spite of her complaints, she quickly got up and got dressed.

After putting the semi-finished draft back into his mommy's bag, Gu Zichen printed out the draft he had finished and put it into his own bag.

He placed a small stool in the kitchen and then stepped on it.

Gu Zichen, who was slowly putting on an apron, shook his head and said, "Mommy is not feeling well. So I will cook vegetable porridge for her today!"

After everything was ready, Gu Zichen walked into his bedroom with a cup of cold medicine.

He gently put the cold medicine aside and then took out new clothes from the room to change into. After that, he put the pajamas that he hadn't worn into the washing machine.

After the washing machine finished its job, he put all the washing into a basket and then grabbed a higher stool.

After hanging his washing up, he jumped off the stool and walked to his mommy's bedroom. When approaching the door, he gradually slowed down his steps.

After wiping all the sweat from his forehead, Gu Zichen walked into the room slowly. Sitting by the bed, he put his hand gently on Gu Manman's forehead.

He let out a sigh of relief. His mommy's low fever had already gone.

Gu Manman, who was sleeping on the bed, slowly opened her eyes and gently held Gu Zichen's little hand on her forehead.

"Good morning, sweetie."

Gu Zichen smiled at Gu Manman brightly and said, "Mommy, good morning."

He helped Gu Manman sit up and placed a pillow behind her back. Then he handed a cup of cold medicine to her.

"Mommy, have another cup of cold medicine. You will be fine soon."

Gu Manman took the cup and looked at Gu Zichen, who had dark circles around his eyes and bags under his eyes. She frowned and felt sorry for him.

She stretched out her hand and gently touched Gu Zichen's dark circles and eye bags. "Sweetie, didn't you sleep last night?"

Gu Zichen nodded and said tamely, "Mommy, that's impossible! I went to bed as soon as I took a bath. I've already washed our clothes this morning."

Gu Manman's face was still filled with doubt. "But, the dark circles and eye bags on your face..."

"Well, I had a nightmare last night. Maybe that is the reason."

Gu Zichen tilted his head and smiled.

Gu Manman frowned and looked at Gu Zichen, her face full of sadness. "You must wake me up if you have a nightmare in the future. I will stay with you."

Gu Zichen nodded seriously with a smile on his face. "I know, Mommy. Take the medicine! Otherwise, it will be cold..."

Gu Zichen let out a sigh of relief as he saw Gu Manman drinking her medicine.

He picked up the glass and walked out of the room. "Mommy, change your clothes and wash up. I'll cool the porridge down."

Gu Manman slowly walked out of the room and then saw the pajamas and clothes hung up on the balcony, which removed her doubts.

It seemed that Zichen did go to bed last night without staying up late...

Gu Zichen, who was working by her side, noticed Gu Manman's gaze. He placed the porridge on the table.

Gu Manman hugged Gu Zichen from behind with a guilty look on her face.

"Sweetie, you shouldn't have done those chores! I feel heartbroken for you. These are things I should do. You are my sweetie. Don't strain yourself. I can't bear to see you like this."

Gu Zichen turned around and looked at Gu Manman's face with a serious expression. "Mommy, I'm not tired at all. I'm very happy to help you!"

He stretched out his tiny hand to push Gu Manman's hair from her forehead behind her ear, his face full of an innocent smile.

Gu Manman shook her head gently and embraced Gu Zichen tightly. "We can share those chores."

Gu Zichen was a little surprised and asked, "Mommy, how could we share?"

Gu Manman nodded seriously. "You will do the cooking. I will do the rest. What do you think?"

Gu Zichen touched his chin and shook his head. "No, I'll do the washing as well."

Gu Manman frowned and said, "No! I'll do the washing!"

They were arguing about sharing the chores.

Gu Zichen curled his lips and said sadly, "But Mommy, I can use the washing machine to wash clothes. It's easy! Just leave it to me."

Gu Manman could never resist Gu Zichen's begging.

She nodded helplessly. "All right, all right."

Gu Zichen pushed Gu Manman into the bathroom. "Mommy, hurry and wash up. Then let's have our breakfast."
