1- Who Is That?

ARC 1- THE BEGINNING

I cried, I cried too hard

this is not true

everything was a lie

John Carl was alive i knew it

but...but...

as tears fell down to my face every memory sink in within me, I cried again, repeatedly

time passed by and I hear some noise in our living room through our house is not that Big I can hear clearly the noise where is it coming from

“What is that!?”- Dad

“I don't know hon, let's go get Mary Ann!”- Mom

there was a strange phenomenon happening all over the world. There was this PURPLE FOG covering the entire earth and everyone is falling unconscious one by one

“Mary Ann my daughter!”- Mom

 my mom rushes to me, and she is so worried that makes me confused

“Mom, what happen!?”- Mary Ann. I ask her with worry and confusion in my face

“We don’t know, but we should stick together!”. Mom tone was a little weird as if something scary was happening.

my father quickly locks the room and rush to our side and hug as deeply

the purple fog slowly covering all over my room and my vision becomes blurry and my eyes became heavy

and the surrounding is shaking strongly

“Mom... Dad...”- Mary Ann, as I tried to reach them but my consciousness was slowly slipping away

everyone all over the world has been fallen to sleep-----

“Mary Ann, my child! Wake up!”

 there is a voice calling me

“Mary Ann, please wake”

“oh god, please! Mary Ann, please wake up!”. Its tone was full of worry and start panicking

I can hear some familiar voices calling my name, I can hear their cries and plead

I slowly open my eyes and saw that my mother is crying!

“w-what happen mom?”- Mary Ann

 her eyes were swollen and tears falling to her eyes

“thank goodness your awake!”- Mom

mom suddenly hugs me tight and father follow up also

 I look at the surrounding and don’t found the purple fog

“what happened where’s the Purple Fog?”- Mary Ann, confusion struck me because of the sudden situation

“We still don’t know but you should stay there and I check what happened to our house”- Dad, his tone was very confused too, and worried about our safety

my mom went and check if there is something strange happens in our house but there is nothing, everything was all the same as before

it looks like that purple fog never happens

My Dad suddenly shouts, his eyes are fully wide and flabbergasted. “how come is this!”

“hon what happen?”- Mom, she rushes immediately to Dad due to his sudden outburst

 my dads face looks very confused, and can’t believe to what he found out

“check your cellphones date!”- Dad, as he points our phones with great haste

I quickly check my phone but there is no signal, but something is strange

“how come it's already January 1!?”- Mom

 with a surprising look, my dad tells us what he found

“yes that is, how come we’ve slept for 5days straight”- Dad

“There is also no signal even in our wifi there is no internet connection”- Mary Ann, my body feels shiver and can’t understand what was happening

“wait for! Ill try to call my friends”- Dad, he stands up quickly and move around the house

My mom chased up his action and grab his phone and contact her friends. “me too”

mom and dad try to call their friends and relatives but there is no signal in every part of our house

meanwhile, I check out our window if there is something outside of the house

as I check the outside, there was this man that is lying on the ground and his companion is a little strange

I focus my eyesight firmly to see what’s happening and suddenly blood gush out in the person's body who’s lying on the ground!

like in a horror film, my body shivers, and gravely shock at what is happening before my eyes

he’s eating the man!

my entire body instantly trembled, my sweat suddenly becomes cold and it shook my entire being in fear!

“ill check outside if there is a signal, wait for me he- “- Dad, he waves his and planning to open the door

Before he opens the door I shout. “DAD NO!!”

my dad and mom was shock because of the sudden rise of my voice

but after looking at my expression they slowly go besides me and check what have I’ve been witnessing

Dad gulf soundly as he saw what is happening outside. “holy mother of god...”

my mother can’t take what we are witnessing and she rushes to the kitchen and vomit

everything that flashes in our eyes is something that is inhuman

My dad closes our window slightly and covers it with the curtain. After that, we are staring at the half-closed window.

every information that is going inside our head is too hard to absorb

Dad broke our silence, with tense in his tone he asks us

“what was that...”- Dad

 after father’s question, a loud noise suddenly be heard

*RROOOAR!!**RRRUUU RUUUU ROAR*

we are silent, deadly silent, but there was this noise that makes us frighten. This noise comes from the monster outside of our house that is feasting at the man

 mother suddenly talks, her eyes are swollen and her whole body is shaking

“hon... what was that I’ve never seen a normal person done something like that”- Mom

“me too first don’t make any unnecessary noise lets stick together”- Dad. he remembers clearly what was they saw earlier

 the fear also eats all my courage and push myself nearer to my mom

“okay”- Mary Ann

when we are going to the living room, I give a quick glimpse at the happening outside and there is one person at the rightmost not far away from the monster that caught my attention

my eyes went big and sweat becomes cold. The person outside is...

“JANNELA...”- Mary Ann

I rush to my mom and dad and told them that Janella is lying outside of our house not far from the monster

but they are not moving

 why... why... why my parents are not doing anything

“dad lets help her!!”- Mary Ann, I plead to him

Dad’s face is too gloomy, and he is nothing looking at me. “but baby girl...”

“It was too dangerous darling”- Mom. she quickly followed up what was Dad told to us

 both of their eyes telling me that to let her, the fear is stopping them to do anything!

“but it is Janella!!”, I yell at them with pleading eyes, but they never move. “PLEASE!!! PLEASE Dad, save her! Mom!!!”

I ran to the door quickly but father holds my hand and not letting me go,

“dad!! let me go Janella’s need me!!!”- Mary Ann

 the confusion in my father’s eyes are slowly disappearing and changing to doubt

“but-“- Dad

“LET ME GO!! “- Mary Ann. I struggle hard but my father was strong and I can’t fight back.

my dad pulls me and hugs me tightly

“Sorry baby girl, okay let dad do the thing”- Dad

I can feel from dad’s body that he is shaking, but he doesn’t let it show on his face. He acts tough and reliable

“dad...”- Mary Ann

my dad quickly went to the kitchen and grab our sharpest knife, he also covers his arms using clothes

“hooooo... okay wait for me at the door okay after I rescue Janella shut the door fast”- Dad. he commands us immediately wasting no time

Mom is pinching her finger due to terror, but she still supports Dad's decision. “okay be safe hon”

I just nod my head, I believe in dad’s skill and I have faith in him

my dad goes outside slowly in a crouch

time to time father is checking at the monster if there are some changes in its behavior we also close the door slightly and only peek there

every second is like an eternity, the tense and pressure is too heavy, but we keep our eyes open to see what will happen

when dad arrives near Janella

the monster still busy feasting the human corpse

my dad try to wake up her and it was effective

Janella slowly waking up and see who is waking her up

“uncl-“- Janella. before she speaks, Dad immediate covers her mouth

With a silencing sign, Dad commands her. “don’t make any noise, just follow me”

she was still confused, but she directly follows my father’s order

They slowly going back to our house. Every step is like an eternity but they manage to gain a distance from the monster.

Janella sees me and waves slightly but I don’t wave her back,

suddenly she calls my name!

“Mary Ann!”- Janella. she waves at me while calling my name!

 shivers cross over my father’s body due to the sudden shout of Janella

“what the!”- Dad

because of the sudden call,the monster that is feasting on the dead body suddenly stands straight without moving its body the monster moves its head towards Janella!

 it cants be!

“RUN!!!”- Mary Ann. I opened the door quickly and shouted them to rush here.

my dad grab Janella quickly as they rush to our house, but the monster now is chasing them

 panicking but dad never let go of Janella’s hand

Janella sneak a peek at what they are running from and she saw a man with a bloody slitted mouth, red eyes and running fast towards them

 her eyes went wide and scream!

“WAAA!!!!”- Janella

the monster was fast but father, and Janella is near to our doorstep

“quick quick!”- Mom

as soon as dad and Janella arrives, mother and I shut the door quickly

*BAG!!**DAG!!!* DAG!!!**DAG!!!*

the monster is attacking our door but the four of us now pushing the door so that it won’t break and after a long minute the monster stop attacking our door

we lock completely the door, and all of us are now sitting on the ground

my mother gives Janella some water to make her calm

And a few minutes Janella breaks the silence. “what was that Mary Ann!?”

“I don’t know also when we wake up it was already there”- Mary Ann

Her fear still lingering in her entire being as she explains what she saw. “It was so scary, as if its face was already rotting”

I hug Janella deeply

“I thought I was going to lose you”- Mary Ann

Janella also hugs me back

“I won’t, sorry”- Janella

we cried silently while hugging each other

my dad check at our haft closed window

“the d-dead are moving...”- Dad. his tone was trembling as if he saw scarier thing than earlier

*KUOOKKKK* KKUUUUU RRRUUUUUUU*

as soon as father said it all of us go the window and peek

the man is already standing and acting strange

his intestines are falling apart but the man is not flinching and walks strangely away

 with a sullen expression, Janella calls this monster

“it was a ZOMBIE...”- Janella

 for a second our body become stiff and not moving an inch

my dad shut the window completely

and also all of us again are sitting at the ground

“so if those monsters are Zombie then everyone is...”- Dad

 mother stare only at the blank and follow up what fathers said

“in danger...”- Mom

“the man revives, so it means that if you got bitten by one of those zombies you will become one of them too right, like in the movies?”- Janella.

 without believing it, I just said

“yes...”- Mary Ann

all of us now are very frightened and shaking in fear

a single bite and we will lose our loved ones

my mom approach us and hug Janella and me

“mommy is here okay, don’t be scared I won’t be lost, darling the last person will be lost to you is -

John Carl and no one will follow, I promise”- Mom

I frown to what matters is my Mom saying."John Carl? who is that?"
