I reapplied my strawberry lipstick before knocking on Peter's door. He opened it instantly as if he had been waiting for me on the other side of door and led me to the sitting room

"Thanks for coming." He said and hugged me "I almost thought I did something wrong"

"Of course not" he released me and made his way to his usual spot on the couch

"The delivery man should be here in ten"

"What did you order?"

"You favorite food"

We ate our food in total silence and watched wrestling for some time before the atmosphere changed.

On my way there that night, I decided to give him another chance. Maybe if I explained to him what and what I wanted in a relationship, maybe he would bend his rules.

He shifted to my side of the couch and started touching my hair the way he always does. His breathing becoming more fast and when I was expecting his kiss was when he got up. 

He went to the TV and turned it off and was about to turn off the sitting room light when I spoke.

"Stop"

He gave me this curious look before asking why

"I hate doing it in darkness"

"You've been doing it in darkness for the past four years"

"Are we back at this conversation?"

"Peter, you try to understand me. There is no big deal in we doing in it with the light turned on and there is also no big deal in we doing it without our clothes on"

That question caught me off guard but I adjusted my expression before answering him

"I love you Peter. I gave you my virginity and how you're going to pay me back is by asking me such an insulting question" I said aggressively "I've told you what I want and since you can't give it to me, let me go"

"I'm not insulting you. You know I will never do that. I'm just trying to work out some things and you should try and lower your voice. We have been dating for how many years now?"

"I don't have time for that"

"Please"

"Five"

"And you have never raised your voice on me for once. We started having sex about four years ago and you've only complained a few times. Everything was fine between us throughout last week but this week has been strange. I love you Lexi. Don't do me like this"

I knew he did love me but love alone isn't going to satisfy my thirst for real sex

"Try to accept my wants and everything is going to be fine between us. Excuse me"

On Friday morning, I woke up as usual, fed Mama and microwaved some pizza for myself. I got a cold diet Coke and sat on the couch to continue my movie when a message popped up on my phone.

I reread the letter over and over again and I was still unable to understand what was going on

What the hell was happening? Why was Stokes enterprise sending me a job offer letter when I didn't even go there for an interview

Stokes enterprise was an extremely rich and popular food processing company in the city. It was one of the most competitive companies in the city and that made everything even more weird.

I signed the contract with the thought that they were going to get back at me with an apology that the letter wasn't meant for me.

Before the end of the day, I informed Judith and Cynthia about it, which made Cynthia to be knocking on my door for the second time that week.

"So girl, what were you talking about?" Cynthia asked

"See it for yourself" I replied and gave her my phone

"And you're sure you didn't go there for an interview?"

"Will I be lying. You know I keep nothing from you and you also know that my result isn't strong enough for such a big company"

"And you're going to be reporting to the anonymous Mr Jason Stokes?"

"It seems so"

Mr Jason Stokes was the only child of Mr Adrian Stokes, the founder of the Stokes enterprise, who took over after his father's terrible heart attack.

"I'm jealous of you" Cynthia said

"Don't be yet. What if I get there on Monday and everything was just a prank"

"That is also trueee. What if someone is trying to play a prank on you. That idea didn't even cross my mind"

"No matter what, whether it a prank or not I'm going there to see for myself"
