CHAPTER 2

Taming Faye:::::

Faye was running late for the interview she had this morning after applying to numerous companies for a job.

No doubt she is very beautiful, curvaceous ,smart and hardworking. Her mum own a small coffee shop few miles away from their home with just one person assisting her.

With no dad, she knew her mum was doing everything possible to make her and her siblings well catered for.

Faye started working at an early age to be able to complete her education and also help out at home, she does menial jobs like delivery person, washing dishes in restaurants, scrubbing floors just to get money to assist her mum and also pay her tution fees.

She had written several application letters to many companies in the state just to get a better job until the last one she submitted.

Sage group of companies had called her for an interview that morning, but looking  sat her watch, she was already late.

On getting to the gigantic building she took a deep breath and walked in towards the receptionist.

With a bright smile on her face she greeted the receptionist, "Good morning my name is Faye Smith, Iam here for the interview regarding the position of a secretary"

"Welcome Faye" the receptionist said, returning the smile as she adjusted her glasses.

"Please you can go in, there are others there waiting, someone will call you and interview you", She said showing her the way.

"Thank you" Faye smiled and nodded, she clutched her handbag tightly walking away.

"Good luck miss", the receptionist said, and  returned to her work.

Faye's heart was beating fast, as she saw those who went in before her came out with long faces, some were crying, cursing.  She silently hoped they will like her and give her the job, because she badly needed it.

She was getting nervous when the person before her was called in, she knew she was prepared for the interview but what if she flopped?

What if she was not who they really wanted?

What if she could not answer the questions thrown at her?

Beads of sweat formed on her forehead as she wiped it out with her long finger, she silently begged her star to favour her because this is her only hope, her only chance for something better.

"Faye Smith?" A beautiful woman called looking around the premises.

"Yes' she quickly stood up clutching her handbag tightly with sweaty palm.

"I'm Faye Smith" she cleared her throat gently.

" Alright, Please come in for your interview"  the beautiful woman indicated with her hand so she can lead the way as Faye followed her closely.

She walked in slowly into the room, there were four people already seated waiting to interview her.

She gulped.

That morning Daylan was not in a good mood, first he missed an important call that has to do with the billion dollars deal he was supposed to sign, secondly his house maid burnt his breakfast, that was his third house maid in a month!

He had made up his mind to employ another, maybe he would try a male chef and his car broke down when he was on his way to work.

On getting to his office the company documents he gave his typist to work on there were numerous errors in it.

Everything was getting on his nerves, he likes everything to be perfect and all the ideas to pull through, Daylan pinched the bridge of his nose calming his raging nerves a little as he outlined the errors in the documents.

There are some days when the thought of having a family comes to his mind, he has a big mansion that can house dozens of children, and a fortune that can feed them until they are aged.

No! He doesn't have time for that, family can wait until whenever he feels he's ready.

He angrily told the typist to retype the documents again after pointing out the errors, while the interview was going on downstairs.

Few Hours Later:::::

Faye came out of the building smiling as happiness radiated her beautiful face.

A dream come true finally!

She got the job!

A high paying job from one of the top leading companies in the country.

They were very impressed with her academic grades, how she comport herself, her work experience,and her eagerness to learn and adapt fast.

"I got the job"! She shouted, not minding passersby looking at her in a weird way, while some smiled congratulating her.

She quickly reached for her phone to call her mum 

"Ma!" She squealed excitedly, "I got the job mama!"

An excited voice from the other end of the call came out almost immediately but was drown by the noise of motorist and passersby.

"Thank you Mama, I'm coming over" she ended the call and immediately dial her bestfriend.

"Guess who isn't jobless anymore" Faye breathlessly asked when Maya punched the receive button.

"John?" Maya bored tone came out unimpressed.

Faye rolled her eyes, "John is just six! How can he be looking for a job at that young age Maya?"

Faye could hear Maya laughed as she quickly masked it up with a sniff clearing her throat.

"Okay, okay! My imaginary boyfriend"   Maya inserted smoothly with a chuckle.

Faye could help but groan and rolled her eyes, " Ladies and gentlemen my bestfriend sulks at guessing.

" I GOT THE JOB!" She shouted with a laugh.

There was a momentarily silence on the other end that made Faye wonder if Maya ended the call already, but it was substituted by a loud squealed. 

"OMG! You don't mean it!' Maya shouted.

Faye exhaled with a smile as she pulled the phone from her ears "Yes Maya, I got the job"

"Wait! Which company?" Maya asked.

"Sage group of companies" Faye whispered quietly.

"OMG! are you serious? Girl!! You're lucky!!" Maya congratulated her friend for finally getting a job.

"This calls for celebration" she chipped in.

"Yeah, yeah..... Let's go out by 7?"

"Yes girl"

They decided to celebrate at the newest bar in the town 'FAROUZ'

Faye quickly flagged down a cab, entered and gave the driver the address to her mother's shop.

She helped her in her shop till it was time to prepare for the celebration with her best friend Maya.
