Meeting her Fiance

It was a cold Saturday morning since it rained last night. Lihua is busy preparing her gift for Jingfei when her father entered her room and told her that today is the day that she will meet her fiance because the last time they arranged the small party for both families, the young man didn't came.

"What? I cannot meet him today! Nobody told me that we will meet them today. And besides, I already made plans for today, you know father that it's Jingfei birthday today." Lihua uttered as she continued preparing her gift.

"Your mother did inform you last night!" Lihua's father uttered calmly. Lihua did remembered that her mother went in but she cannot remember what she said since she was so busy thinking about the confession.

"But father, I cannot meet him today. You know it's Jingfei's birthday today. I need to attend her birthday party." Lihua reasoned out because she is still not yet ready to meet his soon-to-be husband because she knew when the time they would meet each other. The wedding should be held as soon as possible.

"You can just send Jingfei a message, tell her that you can't come because you will be meeting your fiance and that you cannot attend her party. 

"Lihua this will only be the first time that you cannot attend  Jingfei's birthday, I know she can understand you." Her father said.

When her father left the room, Lihua let out a heavy sigh, she is very upset at her father but she knew that she cannot defy his orders. And besides this supposed to be meet up with her fiance was already postponed for too long and even though she doesn't want to be married, she is also curious about who might her fiance be. She can just go against this marriage once she knew who he was.

Lihua just nodded and grab her phone to send Jingfei a message.

"Jingfei, I'm sorry. I cannot attend your birthday party. Father told me that, I will finally meet my fiance today. I will just ask Butler Feng to send my birthday gift today." Lihua texted and she then went to the bathroom to prepare herself.

Jingfei saw the text of her best friend and was a little bit sad because she cannot attend her party but at the same time, she is happy for her because she will finally meet him. She can't wait to ask her Lihua who the guy is.

"It's okay Huahua and thank you for your gift." she texted back.

After Lihua had finished her dressing up. She went out to go to the dining area. She had already read Jingfei's message.

"The Jian family called and they said that they will arrive at around 1 o'clock this afternoon."  The Zhou Patriarch said. 

"Lihua we know that you are not yet ready to get married but this is your Grandfather's wish." The Zhou matriarch uttered as she console her daughter.

Lihua just nodded and played with her food while thinking of Jingfei's party. She badly wanted to go because it is her best friend's birthday party.

At exactly one o'clock in the afternoon, the Jian Family arrive and they were personally welcome by the Zhou Patriarch.

"Welcome back to our humble abode." said Mr. Zhou said while shaking the hands of Mr. Jian and Mrs. Jian. "And you must be Li Wei?" he asked the young man as he extended his arm for a handshake which Li Wei gladly shake.

''You have grown into a fine young man.'' He complimented the young man as he lead them to the living room.

Lihua was busy texting Jingfei therefore she didn't notice that the Jian Family had arrived.

"Lihua stop texting where are your manners." The madam scolded her. Lihua lifted her head up and she was shocked when she saw her professor.  

Then she remembered that his family name is Jian. "Maybe he is the brother of my Fiance" She thought. Lihua stood up and greeted the Jian Family.

Li Wei could see confusion written all over Lihua's face.

"Good Afternoon Mrs. and Mr. Jian." Lihua first greeted the two elders. 

"And to you also Mr. Jian." she politely said and bowed.

"Ah this child, just call me mother from now on because you will be my daughter-in-law soon" Mrs. Jian said and gave Lihua a kiss in the cheeks.

Li Wei's eyebrow twitched, "She just greeted me like I'm old man" he thought to himself.

"Good Afternoon to you too, Lihua" He replied and smiled at the young lady, showing his perfectly even white teeth.

"Do you know each other?" asked Mrs. Jian as she observed that Lihha was shocked after seeing her son.

"He is my homeroom teacher and professor in English." Lihua replied politely. Mr. and Mrs. Jian were a bit surprise when they heard Ayesha's replied. 

Mr. Jian gave his son a meaningful look, and Li Wei immediately understood what his father's look means. He needs some explanation.

"Uhmm where is my fiance?" Lihua asked when she realize that there is no one following the three whom came in.

 The Zhi Patriarch and The Jian Patriach looked at each other so did the two Matriarchs. Ah right Lihua doesn't have a clue who is her fiance.

"Lihua dear this is our only son Li Wei and he is your fiance." said, Mr. Jian as he introduces her son to her. Lihua's jaw drop, she is entirely stunned, this handsome man is her fiance.

"But he is my professor." Lihua said while looking at Liwie who is now very serious.

"Yes! He maybe your professor but before he became one, you two were already arranged. Besides, you still can keep it as a secret that you two are married." Mrs. Jian pointed out which was agreed by Lihua's mother.

"But I am not still at the right age to marry." Lihua said again and she hoped that this arrange marriage would be break.

"Lihua, you will get married when you turn twenty." Mrs. Zhi uttered as she lightly brushed her daughter's hair.

"And you can have all the time to know each other before and after your marriage." Mrs. Jian chuckled.

Lihua felt defeated from arguing and making excuses and reasons just to break this marriage that was made by her Grandpa and Li Wei's Grandma.

"So we should discuss now when will the wedding be held. You two can register your marriage on Monday so that we could hold the wedding as soon as possible." Mr. Zhou said while looking at Li Wei and Lihua

Lihua felt devastated from what she heard while Li Wei is actually very happy and glad by his father's and Lihua's father's decisions.
