Five

                 *•ARA's POV•*

I don't know and don't care how long I slept. All I know is that it's been one of the longest rest of my life. As an omega, we had to wake up really early to work. We didn't have the time to sleep. 

    I woke up this morning in a different environment. For a moment, I was confused and alarmed but later I calmed down after I remembered where I was. 

   I'm in the Black Pack. Cindy is now the Luna. I have a mate, and my mate freaking walked away from me. That idiot. When I get my hands on him...

     I jumped out of bed with new found vigor. Today's agenda is: Look for mate then yell at mate for walking away.

Make him feel bad about it.

Turn on water works if need be.

I was gonna do all that but first I needed to freshen up, eat, then find out where the hell he stays so I can whoop some mate ass.

    Downstairs, Cindy and her mate are having breakfast.

   "Good morning Cindy, good morning Alpha."

   "Morning Ara." They both respond.

   "Call me Rodrick. There's no need for titles. Come, have breakfast." Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, toast, jam, butter, coffee, hot cocoa, you name it. But I knew I couldn't eat for free. 

    "Rodrick I can't eat and stay here for free. I need to pay you in some way."

   "What do you mean? You're a guest. Besides, aren't you Caine's mate?" I scowled when I heard my mate's name.

   "I am but that doesn't mean I can stay here for free. Please let me cook for y'all. I beg of you." He thought about my offer for a while then reluctantly agreed.

   "Fine. But only dinner. Nothing more, nothing less." 

   "Thank you! Besides, Cindy loves my cooking. She simply can't live without it and I'm not sure your sloppy food could catch up to mine" I stated smugly which earned a laugh from both my breakfast companions.

            *•CAINE's POV•*

After eight o'clock, I felt better. I normally shutdown from five to eight because that was the time when it happened. It's part of my system now. 

    Guilt. That's all I feel now. I feel guilty for leaving Ara hanging like that but it's not my fault. She won't understand. Scar didn't also ease my guilt, he kept on pestering me to go to her but I couldn't. Not at that time of the night anyway. 

    I have a lot of things to do today. First of all, I have to apologize to my beautiful mate. Then I have to move her into my—our home. I won't let her stay at Rodrick's place any longer. She's mine and mine only.

"Even I have to apologize to Amanda. Her wolf is the sweetest mate anyone could ever ask for."

"What's she like?"

"Well, I haven't seen her yet but from the little time I had with her, she was very sweet. She's sassy and nice at the same time. And she's also very funny but feisty. She's everything I've always wanted."

"Whoa! Haha! Calm down big buddy. Corny much?!" I laughed.

"I'm not being corny. Until you spend quality time with Ara, you won't know what I'm talking about." With that, he blocked our link. I think I just made my wolf pissed at me.

    I prepared myself to meet my mate, with a speech and all. After 253 tries, they went something like this...

     Babe, you know my body shuts down at five to eight o'clock because of something that happened to me. Scratch that!

      Ara sweetheart, sugarplum, my heart...Scratch that, too corny.

     I couldn't do it. There were many more corny, sappy things I could say but it wouldn't have made any sense to her. I'd just have to tell her half of the truth then. So it's settled. I'll lie but I won't lie. Gosh! I don't make sense anymore. 

    Time to head over to see my mate!

                 *•ARA's POV•*

Time to go kick some male butt! 

    "Rodrick, thank you for breakfast. Could you do me a small favor?"

    "If it's in my power, sure. Tell me."

    "Could you please direct me to Caine's house? I need to say a word or two to him."

   "Umm... sure?"

   "Thank you." He gave me the directions to my mate's house which was supposed to be our house until he ditched me without any future plans.

   I grab my cleanest pair of clothes, minus the holes. I really needed a new wardrobe. 

From what Rodrick told me, Caine's house is within a walking distance, roughly fifteen to twenty minutes away. On my way there, I passed the training ground. There was some sort of intense training going on which was captivating but I couldn't stop to watch. For some reason, Amanda was pulling me towards the training ground but I had a mission so until I whoop Caine's sorry ass, I wasn't going anywhere.

"Let's just check it out. Something is pulling me there." She begged. I wasn't having any of her whining today.

"No Amanda. We have a mission to complete. We'll visit the training grounds later."

"Just listen to me and turn around."

"No! Stop insisting." Then I blocked her from pestering me and walked all the way to my mate's house only to notince he wasn't home. Shit! 

Where could he have gone now?

    Knock knock knock! Ignored.

    Knock knock knock! Ignored again.

   Knock knock knock knock knock knock.

"What?!"

"Well, if you'd allowed me to figure out why I was itching to go to the training grounds then you'd have know that our mate is there."

"Ughhhhh! Why didn't you say that earlier?"

"Mehmehmehmehmehmeh! That's what you sound like."

I rolled my eyes at Amanda's childishness and started making my way to my mate, again. As I neared the grounds, I felt the pull get stronger then it clicked. It's the mate pull. That's what was pulling me over. Now that I think about it, the person fighting the big guy looks very much like Caine. As I neared and got a closer look, the person really was Caine—a shirtless, sexy Caine. His body was sweaty and his hair's matted to his forehead because of his sweat. I think he finally felt my presence because instead of throwing a punch to finish off the big guy, he stiffened which gave the big guy the opportunity to knock him out. Ouuu! that looked painful. I moved to help him but was blocked by someone. Looking up to see the idiot who blocked my path, I saw a guy smugly looking down at me.

    "Well, well, well! What do we have here?" He took a step towards me and I took a step back. 

     "Look at what the cat dragged in today...an omega. Because of you, our Beta lost his concentration. Tsk tsk tsk" He said after getting a good whiff of my scent. That gesture alone made me feel disgusted. Only my mate can make smelling someone else feel so right. 

   "Leave me alone." I honestly tried to move past him but the damn guy was too big. I pushed again but this time he just held me by my wrist which made me feel fifty shades of disgust. I looked at Caine to see him rousing from his little mishap earlier so I screamed.

    "Let me go. I just wanna see Caine." 

   "Disrespectful little thing aren't we? Calling the Beta by his name a punishable offence. Shall I teach you a lesson?" 

   "Maybe I should teach you a lesson first Daniel." The voice said from behind me.

I'm not really happy with this chapter cause it's short and boring but I wanted to get something out there so here it is. What did you think? I'm literally throwing this chapter to y'all cause it's almost my curfew and I've gotta skedaddle. You know the usual so please don't forget to do them.
