FACE TO FACE WITH EVIL

Kyra sat in her barracks and watched the remaining students complete the first round that is until it was Thanis turn 

knowing he was Gabriel's son they went all out on his trial even giving him an archangel as his opponent

Kyra rolled her eyes at the screen jeez what a show-off she grumbled watching as he strode out to face his opponent

white and gold outfit battle outfit shining under the sun

He drew his sword proudly thrusting the blade up into the air

The stands were filled with loud roaring cheers from everyone in the stands

Kyra sighed just get on with it already

Thanis began to do battle with his opponent so far he was holding his own with his swordsmanship he was also amazingly fast with his technique

As thanis crossed blades with his opponent a burst of power came out driving back the angel he had been fighting

When suddenly the hair on the back of kyra's neck stood up and she felt an ominous feeling crawling over her flesh that made a cold chill wash over her

The entire arena fell silent all of sudden even thanis and his opponent paused their battle

What's going on? she breathed Samuel?

I can sense demons he reported but that's impossible there is no way demons would be able to breach Sparda

A roar suddenly filled the arena shaking everything as a demon portal appeared in the middle of the arena a burning ring of black hells fire tore itself open great hulking things came marching out these were lesser demons

Frightening monsters they had no visible eyes or face to speak of only blistered and burned black leathery skin if it could be called that held a gaping mouth of razor-sharp teeth

its hands were large spiked clubs like from back in the medieval days except they consisted of flesh and bone,

and when they moved their feet the ground shook like small earthquakes

 the loud roaring sound came from their gaping mouths a huge army of these creatures came marching through the portal 

along with flocks of what looked like giant mutated pterodactyls with long deadly beaks and clawed talons flew out after them

Oh my god Kyra breathed she took off at run out of her barracks headed to the entrance of the arena

Kyra where the hell are you going Samuel called after her you need to flee and evacuate

Yeah well so does everyone else she cried we have to help

She skidded as she bent the corner and ran for the door her fist punching the button and making it open as she drew her swords

Thanis was fighting off some of the beasts right in front of her when the door lifted but his sword was having little effect 

on their tough hides, he was barely able to defend himself from their pounding clubs he was being overwhelmed

Kyra flashed past as she unleashed two waves of angel fire from her swords the angels fire ripped through the demons

 cutting them in half they burst in flames and collapsed turning to ashes

Thanis stood there stunned

You're welcome Kyra said to him not even pausing as she headed towards the next nearest swarm

All the Archangels including Gabriel were fighting at the portal entrance trying to stop the demons 

from swarming through attempting to force back the majority of demons into the portal 

The arena was erupted into chaos with younger students having nowhere to flee from the beast those who could fly were

 already taken off leaving their unwinged peers behind to fend for themselves

Kyra shook her head in absolute disgust no one had thought to stay behind and create an escape route out of the arena for the wingless ones

father give me strength she breathed 

she neared a group of students under attack they were shielding themselves with sigils but soon those sigils would be crumbled 

under the power of demonic miasma that poured from the bodies of the mutated pterodactyls as they beat their 

wings against their sigils trying to shatter them

with a sweep of her swords the golden angel's fire bursting from her blades

blasting the demons away from the students they caught on fire burning into dust

hey you kids follow me she yelled to the juniors stay close and shield yourselves ok the group of students 

rushed to her surrounding her with numerous frightened and hopeful faces gazed back at her thank you so much for coming to save us 

one boy said

its no problem she replied now you kids know how to use barrier sigils it would be better if you don't use them 

individually try combining them instead, they will be much stronger that way understand she instructed

the kids activated their shield sigils linking them together with Kyra's instruction she thought them as quickly as

 she could and soon a strong dome-shaped barrier surrounded the group of kids

you've got it now stay close stay under the barrier I'll take care of the demons outside ok

just follow me I'll get you guys out of here and also feel free to pick up anyone else who needs help and bring them into the barrier with you

have them use their barrier sigils too protect everyone by working together you got that

yes we understand they replied

turned and found herself facing another demon with a cry she engaged 

spinning her blade above her head and unleashing her power as angels fire exploded out in a flame wheel slammed into the demon 

hurling it away and the demon collided with another group of demons swarming toward them all of them 

bursting into flames and becoming ash she kept moving forward clearing a path through the demons ahead of them as she went

soon they made it to the arena exit where they encountered a troop of warrior archangels guarding it and keeping it clear of demons

you kids get out of here she instructed

thank you one of the kids a girl about twelve years old hugged her around her waist thank you we won't forget

 that the daughter of Michael saved us the girl said they quickly went through the exit

hey kid aren't you leaving one of the members of the troop tried to stop her she grinned no way are you kidding this is way too much fun

she took off running into another swarm quickly sending golden angels fire sweeping across 

the arena two three then a fourth wave clearing an entire area all on her own and finding another group 

of kids hiding under the stands inside a shield they had made

go get out of here Kyra yelled at them

thank you they all cried stay under your shield she instructed them

the kids ran back the way Kyra had just come taking advantage of the cleared area at the moment

Kyra stayed where she was beating back incoming demons and keeping the area clear until the kids made it out safely before she moved on

this time she unleashed one of her swords cutting down demons ahead of her as she ran launching herself into the air 

spinning her other sword above her head and generating a fireball of angels fire she sent it hurling into thick swarms of demons from above

direct hit Kyra breathed as they all burst into flames and turned to ash as the demons died it revealed 

a group of students under a shield created by one of the guardian angels in the arena

you guys get out of here follow this path it will lead you out she cried

thank you, Michaels daughter I will remember this the guardian, said

Kyra gave him a nod as he evacuated the kids along the cleared path, she had made she moved on to the next swarm

a roar filled the air and Kyra paused her tracks looking towards the portal

Gabriel and several archangels were fighting a massively huge demon

Her eyes widened at the sight of a huge three headed Cerberus hound that was so large 

it was kind of stuck in the portal with half of its body still inside the portal only it's three massive heads had

 breached through and they were spitting black hells fire everywhere

they were trying to drive it back if that massive beast managed to break through then all hell would break through even worse than it already was

a large black flying demon swept over her head it talons grabbed her hair and it picked her up she was flown away above the arena

 dam you! Kyra screamed at the beat let go of me! she heard a battle horn blast for reinforcements

 at the moment she was occupied as she used her sword to fire a blast of angels fire above her own head 

the demon dropped her as it burst into flames 

she was falling out of the air her hair had come undone as it cascaded down her shoulders

 she looked down she had been dropped straight into a swarm of hulking demons all roaring up at her and waving their clubs in the air

huh figures she thought with a scream of anger she summoned both her swords as she dropped down 

she began to spin using her speed to build up energy 

as she came down angels fire swept out around her creating a tornado of fire that blasted the swarm 

to ash and sending the tornado roaring across the area destroying several more demons before it dissipated

she thought she would land safely on the ground below but then she kept falling right through the ground 

what the hell was happening? she thought quickly 

sheathing her swords as she tried to control her fall looking up realizing she seemed to have fallen through a demon portal 

the landscape around her changed from the arena of Sparda into underground caverns filled with black fire and roaming monsters 

pools of black lava bubbled the spirits of the dead drifted around moaning in their pain and despair  

she had fallen into hell what the fuck! she gasped 

when she finally landed she was standing on a rugged mountain top before a black metal cage occupied by a black smoky spirit 

she stumbled and almost fell as she realized whos spirit she was seeing 

Lucifer? she gasped in shock at the previous king of hell who had been killed and replaced by the new current king

it worked he said my summoning has brought you here child

why? what do you want with me? she cried

your father was my brother he said

yea well so is Gabriel if you want to talk to somebody then call him! she protested

gabriel is a useless fool I summoned you here because you're the only one who can help me

help you I am an angel I do not help the likes of you she gasped was lucifer off his rocker in his afterlife? 

listen to me child he growled rattling his cage I wouldn't have brought you here without a good reason

Azeazel the current king of hell intends to start a war I need you to send a warning to the seraphim guard

why should I believe you? she cried you're the master of all deception 

he shook his cage the rattling sound making her bones go cold

and echoed across the mountain top they were in with the most horrifying sound she covered her ears 

all right I'll listen jeez! she screamed 

look here he ordered casting his hand a vision appeared within a massive cavern there were demons 

million upon millions of them it was a huge and very organized army of demons the cavern was huge

 and endless somewhere in the deepest depths of hell 

there were demons there that she didn't even recognize from the demon classification system 

she had studied in school many of them were apparently new breeds of monsters 

among them were millions of demonic spirits 

what is this? she gasped horrified 

Azeazels army, Lucifer said thats why I brought you here as the previous king of hell sure I started a war with the big guy up top 

but my thing was showing up the faults in his creations yes I corrupted them and did all kinds of wicked shit 

but this? Azeazel intends to wipe out all of humanity and subjugate the world 

look here this demon army is modeled after the host they have various ranks and roles 

he even has archdemons just like the host has archangels 

he intends to replace the host with his own governing body of demons she breathed 

exactly! he intends to dominate and rule all lucifer said there are scarier things in this place

 than just me

there are things in here that the big guy himself locked away since the beginning of creation 

if azeazel lets them out in this misguided war of his they will emerge and the first thing they will do is eat hell to regain their power 

and from there all of creation will be devoured Azeazel does not understand this he thinks he can cut a deal with these entities 

but there is no bargaining with entities like them these are beings that are strong enough to rival the big guy they have their own agendas against him 

Azeazel is but a pawn in their hands once they get out nothing will stop them there will be no deal 

Azeazel will be nothing more than food to them there will be no earth no heaven no hell no nothing do you understand child 

as evil as I might be I would not go out to the extent of undoing all of creation, I like playing among the humans 

too much I enjoy life there is a distinct difference between me and azeazel understand!

I brought you here so you can see it with your own eyes you must find the seraphim guard and warn them there is not much time left 

okay how do I get out of here to warn them then she cried
