Chapter Eight.
Author: vanillaNathaniel’s Obsession
Rosalyn stared at the mountain work in front of her. That didn’t even bother her. It was the fact that she was left to think about all the cases she handed over to other doctors including her colleagues. She knew there were a few cool cases, but she was stuck here doing paperwork. She sighed as she picked up her pen. If she wanted to sit at a desk all day she would have studied something else, she thought to herself.
“You got yourself in this mess,” She heard Dr. Hunter’s voice in front of her. Her head raised up at his voice.
“Dr. Hunter, how did the surgery go?” Rosalyn asked with a small smile on her face. She was disappointed she hadn’t been in surgery with him because she knew the patient they were seeing today.
“It went well, but that’s not Mrs. Taylor. That was a trauma. Her surgery’s delayed and that’s great because you will be coming into surgery right now,” Dr. Hunter said shocking Rosalyn, she didn’t know what to say to that.
“I can’t. Dr. Weiss has me sorting papers until the end of the week,” Rosalyn said as her face fell. She had been the one to diagnose Mrs. Taylor and she had been following up on her case. Now it was time for her final surgery and she wouldn’t be there now.
“Dr. Weiss is going to have to a change of heart because you will be coming into surgery with me," Dr. Hunter said winking at her before he walked away.
Rosalyn just stared after him.

“What are you doing here?” Rosalyn asked in shock. She just got off work and arrived at her apartment. She was about to reach for her key in her bag to unlock her door only to see Nathaniel standing outside the door. She was so tired right now.
“Is everything alright?” Rosalyn continued when she got no response from him.
“Open the door,” Nathaniel said over her questions. He obviously couldn’t answer them.
Rosalyn only rolled her eyes at him before she opened the door.
“Look I’m tired now, I just want to get something to eat and go to bed,” Rosalyn said as she walked into her apartment. She dropped her bag beside the door before she took off her shoes there too.
Nathaniel didn’t say anything to her. He just stared at her. He couldn’t really get her out of his mind and it was really bothering him. He could hardly even get his dick hard without thinking about her. He needed to have her so he could get her out of his system.
“I really don’t have a lot here, I’ll need to go shopping again,” Rosalyn said more to herself as she opened the fridge.
Nathaniel made his way towards her. He stood behind her so they were both looking into the fridge. He lowered his head before he spoke in her ear.
“You work so hard there only to have them treat you like shit,” Nathaniel said into her ear. He wasn’t mincing his words either.
He didn’t miss the way she gasped as she felt his presence behind her. All the hairs on her body stood in attention.
“They’re not all so bad. Besides they’re not the reason I work there,” Rosalyn finally managed to say, her mouth was suddenly so dry.
“Well you shouldn’t be working there,” Nathaniel said before he moved away from her. He saw how she let out a deep breath, then she closed the fridge.
“You know anything like personal space?” Rosalyn asked rolling her eyes. She didn’t like how crowded she felt when he was standing behind her. It was like in such a little time he had control over her.
Nathaniel didn’t offer her a response. He grabbed himself a beer from her fridge. She wondered how he felt very comfortable in her own space. Rosalyn only shook her head. She knew her parents would call anytime soon and she didn’t want them to know she had someone over. Most of all, a guy. Knowing her parents, they would overreact.
“You’re very pretty you know?” Nathaniel said out of nowhere. He was looking at her so intensely that she felt her skin react to him. She was hot all of a sudden as her cheeks reddened.
“I’m sure you get that a lot. You have a lot of guys asking you out,” Nathaniel said as a statement but he was asking her.
“Umm thank you,” Rosalyn said wanting this topic to end. She really hated talking about her looks. Yes, she knew she was pretty, but she never really paid attention to guys who came her way.
“How many men have you been with?” Nathaniel asked before he took a swig of his drink.
Rosalyn stared at him in shock, wondering where the question came from. She knew he was serious because he was still staring at her as if he was waiting for a response.
“None,” Rosalyn said holding her breath. She didn’t even realize when the word left her lips, it was like she felt this longing pull to respond to him.
“None?” Nathaniel said raising his brows in shock.
Rosalyn nodded looking away from him. She hated how her face was getting hot. Her sex life was like something she never thought would come into existence after her prom night.
"Well I have tried dating a few times but it never worked out," Rosalyn explained when he kept staring at her silently.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” Nathaniel said when he saw how serious she was.
“I’ve been busy you know. Medical school and all,” Rosalyn said feeling the need to explain. She didn’t really have time to date and even when she tried her partner always pulled out saying how she never put effort into the relationship.
“So you’ve never had sex,” Nathaniel asked again making Rosalyn roll her eyes. Why was it such a shock to him? There were a lot of people in her shoes, she obviously couldn’t be the only one, she thought to herself.
“Why?” Nathaniel asked a few minutes later.
“Let’s say, I’m waiting for the right person,” Rosalyn said. She also didn’t want to just give it up to just anyone. She wanted it to be memorable.
Nathaniel laughed while looking at her, causing Rosalyn to frown. Why was he just laughing at her?
“What’s funny?,” Rosalyn asked. She noticed he wasn’t someone that laughed a lot, but when he did she appreciated it.
“How do you think you’re going to know who the right person is ?” Nathaniel asked as Emily popped in his head. He had thought she was the right person, but that wasn’t the case.
“I’ll know,” Rosalyn said simply, just before a loud sound made its way to their ears. Rosalyn picked up her phone trying her best not to roll her eyes when she saw it was her mom calling her again. Did they seriously have to call every night? she thought to herself.
“How do you know I’m not the right person?” Nathaniel asked staring into her soul that Rosalyn had to look away. She hated the power that he had over her.
“Well for starters, I don’t know anything about you,” Rosalyn said with a small smile on her face. She pulled out some two boxes of noddles from her cabinet. That was going to be their dinner.
“What do you want to know?” Nathaniel asked. He could not believe he was having this conversation with her. He had not held a conversation with any other female in years.
“how old are you?” Rosalyn said a small smile on her face. She placed the hot cup of noddles gently in front of him. That was the best she could do.
“Thirty-four,” Nathaniel answered, looking at the cup of noddles and raising his eyebrow at her.
“That’s the best you can get from me,” Rosalyn said almost laughing.
“I’ll take it, I’m hungry,” Nathaniel said.
“Well, when you stand around stalking me all day..” Rosalyn said coughing after she said that. She filled her mouth after a spoon of noddles.
“This is my best flavor. It tastes better than the rest,” Rosalyn said. It was a spicy chicken flavor.
“Spicy. I don’t do spicy,” Nathaniel said.
“What really? Spicy food is the best,” Rosalyn said in alarm. She was shocked that he didn’t like spicy food.
“Yeah I’ve been told,” Nathaniel said remembering how Emily also enjoyed spicy food.
“You’re really attractive when you smile,” Rosalyn said looking into his eyes. She watched how quickly his smile turned into a blank look. It was like he didn’t know how to take her words.
“So what’s the deal with your sister?” Rosalyn asked after a few minutes of silence. She wondered if he found her.
Rosalyn didn’t know if his face could get any harder. She guessed that he hadn’t found her yet from the looks of it.
Nathaniel stared at Rosalyn not saying anything. He had been thinking of how to find out where Isobel was, but everything was coming to a dead end.
“She’s missing,” Nathaniel said simply. That was where he would leave everything at. He didn’t see Rosalyn as a threat, and that was not something he ever did.
He saw how her eyes widened at his words. He was sure she was not expecting that.
“Still,” Rosalyn whispered sympathetically.
“How do you know ?” Nathaniel asked her his eyes narrowing on her.
“Well your brother did well to let me know how it was my fault that you had not gone looking for your sister,” Rosalyn said as she remembered his brother. It was not a nice memory. For some reason, she knew in her heart that Nathaniel’s brother truly disliked her.
“I’ll find her soon. You don’t need to worry about that. Most of the time my brother says a lot of stupid stuff. He was meant to be home but he disobeyed me by going out that day and if anyone’s at fault it’s him,” Nathaniel said placing a hand over hers on the table.
Nathaniel felt his heart tingle at the small smile that made its way to Rosalyn’s face as she looked from their hands to his face.
“I hope you find her,” Rosalyn said giving his hand a little squeeze.
Rosalyn finished the rest of her and Nathaniel’s noodles, while Nathaniel just watched her. He didn’t know what he was feeling as he stared at her, but he knew that he was not letting her go any moment from now. The pull was too much for him not to get his fill of her. Even if it was only a one-time thing. They sat down talking about random things.
Nathaniel got to his feet and walked around the counter to stand behind Rosalyn. He placed his hands gently on her shoulders and he couldn’t deny the spark that was there. Neither of them could, he didn’t miss Rosalyn’s sharp intake of breath.
“You are very beautiful, I’m sure you get that a lot, and I don’t know there’s this thing about you. Do you feel it?” Nathaniel said his lips on her ear as his hands rubbed her shoulders.
Rosalyn sighed releasing her breath. She relaxed under his hold and leaned back into his chest. Yes she felt it, would it be so bad if she let herself go for a minute, she thought to herself. She always felt how it felt to be with someone who she felt this level of attraction for.
Her lips parted when his own lips connected with her neck. She shivered in his arms as she enjoyed the feeling of his lips on her. Her back was now fully pressed against his front, he was supporting her now.
Nathaniel left a trail of kisses from her neck until he reached the corner of her lips. Rosalyn turned in her seat, spreading her legs so he could stand between them. There was no hesitation as she raised her face up to him, offering him her lips.
The moment his lips connected with hers. She physically felt herself relax in his arms. As his tongue touched hers, a moan left her lips. Her arms made its way up and wrapped around his neck pulling him even closer.
Rosalyn’s brain was nuzzling with pleasure as Nathaniel left kisses on her chest. She didn’t even realize when he picked her up by her thighs and now he was fully supporting her weight with her legs wrapped around him.
Nathaniel looked up from her eyes looking deep into her eyes. It was like he was asking an unspoken question.
“First door on your right,” Rosalyn said looking dead at him too.
