Chapter 5: "Feelings"

Our subject teachers came and go, they were discussing about the subject introduction and Angelo was barely listening to them at all but somehow, he still gets everything right. I heard Angelo was studied advanced courses in abroad, I guess he's in the STEM strand because he wants to be a licensed doctor.

He always wanted to be one. Only the Biology class seems to keep him interested enough to actually write notes. I found myself smiling. It was a plan from our childhood. He was going to be a doctor of his very own patients and I was going to be a doctor of computers, I wanted to become a computer engineer.

Our biology professor gives out his lesson plan and gave us an early break.

I ate alone by the bleachers... I knew it, I should've accepted Angelo's proposal to eat together but I know his friends wanted to catch up with him as well. I'm just glad Angelo seem to have a lot of friends.

Suddenly, someone approached me and says, "Hey, you're from my class, right?"

I looked up and saw her. It was the girl from my class, she have a shiny long black hair with mature pretty face, she looks like a model pairing her face with her height. She had a tanned skintone, she continued, "I have a club and you can check us out if you're interested!"

"Oh, sorry, I'm not good at socialzing."

"It's fine." She smiles, "It's a coding club. You know, computer coding."

My eyes gleams at the sound of that and making her laugh, she says, "I'm Ashley by the way,you seem interesting and funny, I think we'll get along."

meet Ashley Rivas

A pretty girl with a model stature, she is our class' representative. I heard she was originally from Class A but she shifts to Class B.

She has a mature heart-shaped face framing her two small and dainty hazel eyes. Ashley have a enviable golden tan as well.

Ashley stated, "You... want to be my friend?"

Ashley nodded, so I replied, "But... what if I don't meet your expectations?"

"Silly girl!" She laughs, "You don't have to, you just have to be yourself. That's what friends are!"

I was dumbfounded. She's right. It's been too long since I had a friend. In fact, Angelo was my only friend. When he left, I felt like I wasn't enough to be anyone's friend that I kept myself from having real and actual friends.

I smiled at her as she sat beside me to eat our lunch.

"Hey, let's eat lunch together tomorrow as well!" Ashley enthusiastically offers

"Sure!"

crap, wait, did Angelo said we were going to eat tomorrow or the day after tomorrow? Ahhhh, this is a mess! How do I tell her?

"Ah, Ashley, actually I-"

Ashley cuts me off as she grabs my hand, "That's great! I look forward to tomorrow!"

Awww, she's so cute and she looks so happy, How the hell can I refuse? But I promised Angelo first!

I continued, "But actually tomorrow-"

Suddenly, the bell rang so she said, "Oh, that's the bell, let's go back!"

So we did, I came back to our classroom with my gloomy face, I sighed as I sat down. Ashley went ahead and distributed her club flyers to the class.

She gave Angelo one, "Hey, you're new here, right? Are you interested in computer coding?"

"No, thanks." He coldly replied

"We have a lot of members, if you want you can join u-"

He cuts her off, "Good, then you don't need me."

Ashley looks down as she shifts her gate at me, she continued, "Kristina's joining."

Angelo glances at me and went back to sleep. But just before Ashley leaves, he says, "A flyer, give me one."

Ashley happily gave him one. 

Did he join because... of me? Oh don't be ridiculous, it's Angelo, he won't do anything like that! He hates inconvenience and he doesn't like computer coding that much but... why else would he join?

I put my hands in my heart instinctively. This is bad... my heart is beating too loud I'm scared he'll hear my feelings for him.

As the day reaches on an end, we were dismissed by our teachers. We went home exhausted.

Angelo Cruz POV

I went back to sleep in my room but just before I sleep, I saw the flyer Ashley gave me earlier.

I whispered to myself with Kristina on my mind, "Nothing special huh?"

She seems close with Kristina, I wonder how she does that with ease. Maybe I could ask her? Ah don't be silly! That would be wrong!

I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive.

what's wrong with me? Lately, I can't seem to understand what I'm feeling. It's weird.

Soon, my thoughts put me to sleep.

I was dreaming, the same dream, over and over again. The same girl. It's her but something about it feels different, it feels like a different person. The girl was crying when I left.

Why did I leave? 

I woke up to this nightmare with tears in my eyes, my mother went Inside my room and worries, "The same dream again?"

I nodded as I wiped my tears away.

My mother tried to smile, "Maybe, going back here is wrong, why don't you go back there with her?"

"No, I'll be fine." 

I got ready for my next day of classes, I wore my black track pants along with a plain black shirt. I already got my uniform but it's the first week so I'm not required to.

besides, I heard Kristina hasn't got her uniform yet, I know she'll be too anxious to be the only one wearing casual clothing if I start wearing my uniform.

I sat at my classroom but I can't help glancing at Kristina's seat. Almost everyone already arrived, they were greeting each other but my only concern was...Kristina

 ...She's not here yet.

ah, I wonder what this uneasy feeling is?
