Chapter 11: "K"

"Wait, there must be some kind of mistake, K is a girl." I protested but I know his phone suggests the opposite, he is definitely 'K'.

Kevin said, "Hey when did I ever said I was a girl? You know you should really stop jumping to your silly conclusions, okay?"

"But you're profile pictur-"

He cuts me off, "-is a girl that I like, it's a famous singer."

"Oh.. yeah, that makes a lot of sense actually." I continued protesting, "But still, 'K' is so misleading!"

"You're using the 'K' username as well."

"Oh yeah...I do."

Kevin laughs cheerfully and says, "Don't tell me you never even visited my profile? not even once? and you continued to talk to me without even knowing me?"

I nodded

"There is something completely wrong with you. You need-"

We said at the same time, "The right amount of nerds!"

We laughed at the same time as well as he handed a pack of nerds, the sour candy, I smiled at him, "Okay, you're really K."

"Still trustworthy as ever." Kevin continued, "Who were the guys earlier you were with?"

I felt a shiver all over my body as I remembered everything, I stuttered, "They're my classmates."

"Okay, don't worry too much, I reported the incident. How's your head? Is it still the same weirdo?"

I gently knocks on my head pretending it's a door and replied, "Yeah, still the same weirdo."

Kevin bursted out laughing.

I asked as I gulped down numerous candy down my throat, "By the way, how did you find me?"

He blushes, "I...kinda... followed you here because you looked uncomfortable when I saw you at the school gate."

"See, you're a stalker." I laughs and I continued, "Thank you, my knight in shining armor. Oh wait, I now bless your initial 'K' as 'Knight in shining armor', now you're required to save me every time."

"Weirdo."

"Right back at you!"

Ashley suddenly barge into my room and hugs me then instantly lets me go, "You stupid girl! Why would you trust those suspicious looking guys?! I should've tranferred back at class A."

Kevin whispered, "See? My sister's not a bad person, she just rude."

Ashley hits Kevin and says, "I see you met my twin."

"We're actually online friends!"

"What? You're the other 'K'?" Ashley asks and continued, "You're the girl Kevin lik-"

Kevin covers Ashley's mouth before she can even finish, Kevin said, "Right, we'll leave you to rest, besides, I called your mom, she's on her way here."

The both of them leaves as I waited for my mom.

Kevin Langdon POV

That was a close one, geez, Ashley just doesn't know when to shut up. I dragged her outside and said, "Hey you can't go around saying things like that to her."

Ashley pouts, "But it's true."

I sighed and gave her some money. She continued, "Besides I shouldn't lie to her, right?"

I gave her some more money and said, "Is that enough?"

"Well, I suppose for now." Ashley smirks playfully, "You're the best, thanks bro!"

Typical Ashley, just before she leaves, she says, "Oh, by the way, if I were you, I'd act fast."

"Yeah, I know."

I know about Angelo. He's all Kristina ever talks about. I initially planned on giving up when I saw them being close again, I thought to myself, "Ah, she's finally happy now." but then I realized that Angelo doesn't deserve her. 

I saw how he ignored him at the school gate, he didn't even try to stop them or worried about her. I'll just have to show Kristina that I can be better than Angelo and make her fall in love with me.

Besides, I won't forgive how he humiliated my sister's confession. Ashley always seemed headstrong and all but she's not. Not at all. She takes to the heart whenever people say bad things about her and try as she might not to mind them, she unconciously does.

I drove back home and messaged Kristina, "Get well soon."

she replied back, "Thanks, I'll see you at school tomorrow."             

I was blushing from a simple message. I rolled over my bed and Ashley mocks, "Kevin, honestly, you're optimistic as Kristina, it's sad."

"Oh shut up."

"To be fair, Kristina's the only girl that you mentioned to me."

I looked away, "That's because she's the only girl I like, like relationship-level kind of like."

"I'll give to her, she managed to make you blush like stupid."

I slept the night away.

Ahhh, I wish the night would go faster so I can already meet Kristina again.             

The next day, I eagerly woke up early and diligently fixed my uniform. I wore my black shoes and grab my things. I woke Ashley up even earlier since she takes too long to get ready. I called out, "Ashley, if you're not done yet, I'm leaving you!"

"Geez, what's up with you, it's a Friday and you're freaking excited." Ashley complains as she hops in the car

Ashley went ahead and entered our classroom but I dropped by Kristina's classroom first. Ah crap, good thing Angelo's not here today. I excused Kristina making every girl look at her with envious glares. Ah, that was a mistake, what if Kristina gets bullied again.

I explained, "Ah... it's for a school event by our club."

The girls ease up and waves goodbye at me.

As soon as Kristina walks out her room, I gave her a special mix of candies. She shouts out of excitement, "Woah! Are these the latest candies from AK Co.?"         

"Yep, it's my special mix with you in mind."

She looks confused so I continued, "Ah right. I didn't tell you about it before because it's kind of akward but...we uh our family... own AK Co. It actually stands for Ashley and Kevin."

"And you didn't tell me? I like your candies the most! I can't believe you actually makes them, you're so cool."

Ah... crap, it's her smiles that gets me. We would video call during the summer and I never open my camera because I was scared she'd notice my blushing face everytime she would smile. 

Kristina checks my temperature by placing her hands on my forehead, she worries, "Are you okay? You're so red! I have some medicine at my bag."

I grabbed her hand and places my forehead at hers and I said, "I'm not sick, you're just clueless."

Kristina raises an eyebrow in confusion so I pinched her cheeks as I leave and said, "Tell me how the new flavors taste like."

"I'll be your forever customer!"

I laughed, ahhh... she really is adorable. As I pass by a teacher, he asked me, "Ah, Mr. President, right? of the student council?"

I nodded

He continued, "Can you bring and arrange these papers to the faculty? They're freshmen applications."

I smiled and said, "Sure, let me handle it!"

I carried the box with files and carried it to the faculty as instructed, there I passed by Angelo. Huh? Why is he here? I arranged the files at the teacher's table alphabetically. I didn't mean to overhear what they were talking about but they were literally just beside me.

I heard the dean scolding Angelo, "How can you get yourself into that fight? I mean it's reasonable that you got made because a friend was injured at the karaoke bar-"

Angelo cuts him off, "She's not a friend."

Are they talking about Kristina?

The dean continued, "Even all the more reason not to! Look I expelled those students as recommended by the board and the student councils and I have to suspend you for a week, please get you actions straight."

Angelo replied, "Yes, sir."

His mom was there with him but she barely says anything. As they leave, I stopped Angelo at the hallway.

I said, "Angelo, right?"

He looks back at me with his right cheek swollen and both his knuckles injured, "What?"

"Is Kristina really no one to you?"

He gritted his teeth, "I don't know her and I don't care about her."

"Then why did you do it?"

"Do what?"

I replied, "Don't play dumb, your knuckles and your suspension. You're the one who beat them up didn't you?"

Angelo looks away.

He clearly have feelings for Kristina but if he doesn't plan on acting on his feelings and he'll be gone for at least a week. It's my chance.

I informed him, "I don't know if I should tell but consider it out or courtesy. I like Kristina and I'm planning on winning her."

He flinches and then turns away, "Do whatever you want."

I really will so you better not regret saying that to me, Angelo.
