Chapter 6 Save May

During the time when I was waiting for Miss May’s reply on Wechat, I thought of the many different ways that she could message me back. I never expected that the first ever message she sent me was something like that.

At the time I was already in bed after taking a bath and brushing my teeth. However, reading that message made me sit straight up in bed in shock. This was bad, Miss May was in danger!

I could not determine the type of danger she was in. Was it a robbery, or did something serious happen to her body and she could not conduct first aid in time.

Feeling the rush of adrenaline, I hurriedly changed my clothes and headed out of my apartment. I managed to grab a cab and was on my way to the Cloudback neighborhood.

Honestly, I had no idea where the Cloudback neighborhood was located in the city. Coastline Cty had been undergoing such rapid development that property prices were skyrocketing, which meant that numerous areas, neighborhoods, and subdistricts in the city started to pop up like mushrooms after rain. It was almost impossible for me to even remember some of them.

Not knowing what kind of hazard she was in, I was very anxious and tense while in the cab. I pestered the cab driver to drive faster while attempting to contact Miss May.

The call connected, but only for a moment, and disconnected.

I tried again, but her phone had been shut off.

Putting the clues together, I boldly surmised that this was not something that had happened to her body. This was due to the fact that Miss May would not shut off her phone herself.

This meant that at this moment, there was someone else besides her!

Having that thought caused me to become more anxious, I could only ask and urge the cab driver to speed up.

“Sir, why don’t I send you to the airport instead?” The cab driver uttered.

Caught off guard by the question, I told him. “I want to go to Cloudback neighborhood, why did you mention the airport?”

“Bullsh*t, can’t you see I’m already flooring the pedal so much that my shoes are getting f*ked up? You keep telling me to drive faster, but I can’t go any faster than this! Why don’t you fly there instead? That should be faster for such an impatient guy like you. ” He shot back aggressively.

I… was about to explode with rage at that point.

Normally I would end up arguing or quarreling with him, but since this was a serious situation I had to bear with it and hold myself back. This was because I could get kicked off my ride anytime by the driver if I were to push the matter further, things would be even worse if that happened.

When the cab reached Cloudback, I tossed the driver a hundred bucks and dashed towards the neighborhood, not wasting time to get my change back.

I was surprised to find that the area was an old neighborhood. Besides having no guardhouse at the front, there was also no main gate and no working street lights, which left the neighborhood in an eerie patch of darkness.

Why would someone like Miss May live in such a place? I could not wrap my head around this.

Not thinking too much, I darted into the neighborhood. Only when I entered the area did I realize that she had not given me a building floor and room number. Luckily I realized that there were only two buildings that had more than fourteen floors. Besides that, these buildings only had a single entrance.

Unsure of which building she was in, I randomly chose one out of the two. Hoping for luck to be on my side, I went into one of the buildings, realized that it was an apartment building, and took the elevator to unit 1402, which was on the fourteenth floor. Upon reaching that unit I immediately gave a knock on the door.

The door opened quickly to my surprise, and there stood a charming middle-aged lady. She had a lot of makeup on and was wearing a silk nightgown. It was so transparent, I could, under the room’s lighting, make out her whole figure from a glance.

She took a look at my body and asked, “Why were you so late? I’ve been waiting for such a long time you know.”

I was confused, what kind of situation was this? Miss May sent me a message for me to find her in this neighborhood, why was this lady waiting for me instead? Who was this lady anyway?

Confusion filled my head.

Taking a few looks at this place, it did not seem like something urgent was happening. Since I thought Miss May would be inside, I followed this lady into the room despite my bewilderment.

Upon entering, I realized there was no one around.

“Where’s Miss May?” I asked.

The lady ignored me and began stripping. After a moment her plump figure was completely laid bare in front of me!

Honestly speaking she had a good figure for a middle-aged lady, under normal circumstances or if I fancied some fun I would definitely let her entertain me. However, Miss May was in a dire situation now, and I never had the intention in the first place.

“Hey hey hey, what’re you doing?” I stopped her while asking.

She took a look at me and said, “Why are you such a weird guy?”

What? I had not even mentioned how weird she was, yet she said I’m weird instead.

“I’m asking you, where’s Miss May?” I muttered.

She walked towards me and shot me an alluring smile. Caressing my chin, she replied, “There’s no Miss May here, I’m Lily. Calling me Miss Lily is fine.”

“Miss Lily?” I could not react in time and said, “No no no, please stop stripping. I wish to ask you, does Miss May not live here?”

She giggled and told me. “Stop looking for Miss May my dear. Miss Lily can do what she can as well, and she’ll make you feel really good and comfortable. Come to bed with me darling, let’s have sex.”

Only now did I realize that I had made a mistake, which means Miss May must be in the other building. This lady in front of me, Miss Lily, seemed to be a sex worker that was waiting for and had mistook me for her client.

“My apologies, I made a mistake.” I frantically broke free from her advances and ran out of the room.

She almost gave chase right away behind me, shouting, “Hey, don’t you leave so quickly, you haven’t even paid me yet! Everyone pays after they see me!”

In the elevator going down, I was feeling a bit glad that she took off her clothes. Because of this, she was hesitant to chase me beyond the room, if not for this I would have had to unwillingly fork up some amount of money for her.

That incident caused a lot of delay for me, and I did not know what was happening over at Miss May’s place!

I dashed out of the elevator, rushed to the other building, and took the elevator to the fourteenth floor.

In front of unit 1402, I gave a few knocks on the door.

Thump thump thump.

A long while after, the depressed voice of a man can be heard from inside asking, “Who is it?”

The voice was not loud, but I seemed to recognize it from somewhere. The guy sounded like someone I had met before, but could not think in the heat of the moment. I could not recall where I had heard his voice before.

“I’m from management, there seems to be a noise complaint from the residents below regarding the sound of natural gas leaking. I would like to come in and have a look, so please open the door, sir.” I informed him.

The guy inside seemed startled for a while and then replied, “You’re mistaken, my house doesn’t use natural gas-powered utilities. Please leave, I’m going to sleep now.”

That response gave me a sudden jolt of reaction, I remembered where I had heard that guy’s voice!

It was during that day in Soulmate café during the matchmaking meet up, that voice belonged to the man who was Miss May’s matchmaking prospect! I thoroughly went through my memories of that day. That was right, it was him all along!

In an instance, I promptly understood that the dangers and risks that Miss May was in, were all caused by this guy!

She had to be inside there with him, that I could be sure of. However, the problem here was him. If he did not want to open the door, then how was I going to get in?

Despite having learned some Taekwondo back in the day, I felt that simply breaking down a door built for theft prevention would be close to impossible, despite it looking quite old and worn down.

Looks like I would have to outsmart the guy then.
