Chapter 8- The fight

Lisa was lying on her bed and gazing at the ceiling. She was thinking the incident that happened today. Few days before she was planning to tell Carl Black about her relationship with Daniel Brooke, but today she was scared to reveal this. Daniel Brooke almost revealed it, but she stopped him. She asked herself 'what just happened? Why can't I tell him?' She couldn't find answer. She was so confused that her mind stopped working.

She was feeling so tired that she fell asleep very soon. When she woke up it was already dark outside. She quickly freshened up and went to the living room. There she saw her father Mark Holmes was talking on phone and her mother was preparing dinner. She went to the kitchen to help her mother.

"Mom, what is in dinner today?"

"Your favourite dishes."

"Oh Mom I love you. OK, I'll help you."

"No honey, I'll do that. After marriage you'll go to your husband's house, so let me cherish you now."

Lisa was feeling sad to hear this. Her eyes were filled with tears and she said softly "Mom, don't say like that. I'll always be with you."

"Silly girl." Linda Holmes patted her and said.

Mark Holmes called out from living room "You two, come over here. I have something to say."

They quickly rushed to the living room to know what Mark Holmes was up to.

Mark Holmes said happily "I just received call from Mrs. Helen Black. She confirmed the date of engagement. It's on next week."

Linda Holmes clapped happily and said with grin "Oh, that's great."

A mixed feeling appeared in Lisa's heart. But seeing the smiling faces of her parents she couldn't help but smile. While her parents were chatting happily Lisa received call from Daniel Brooke.

She quietly went to her room and answered "Hello."

"I am outside your building. Come down."

"What?"

Daniel Brooke was feeling irritated and said angrily "Are you coming or not? Or Shall I come over there?"

"No, no, I am coming."

Lisa was feeling helpless. How can she go outside at this time? What should she say to her parents? A cold sweat appeared on her forehead. But there was no option left. She had to go outside, so she gathered her confidence and went out from her room.

"Mom I have to buy some drawing tools. I'll come back soon."

"It's getting late dear. You can buy it tomorrow."

"But I need these now. Don't worry I'll be back soon."

She hurriedly went outside after saying this. She rushed towards the gate, but she didn't find Daniel Brooke there. She looked around but still she couldn't find him.

She was very frustrated at that moment and thought that may be Daniel Brooke was playing prank with her.

She muttered "Humph... How dare you to play prank with me?"

She turned around to leave but someone placed a big palm on her mouth from her back and pulled her into embrace. Shock and fear hit Lisa so much that her hands and feet turned cold immediately. She tried hard to set free but the person was stronger than her.

In a blink the person dragged her to the corner of the alley and whispered in her ears "It's me."

He let go of her and turned her around. Lisa heaved a sigh of relieve but she was very angry and scolded "What the hell Daniel? Do you want to give me a heart attack?"

Then the smell of alcohol hit her nose. She frowned and said "Are you drunk?"

Daniel Brooke said indifferently "Yes I am."

"What is this Daniel? Why did you drag me out?"

Daniel Brooke chuckled and sneered "Now that you have fiance my every action is troubling you. Right?"

"Daniel you...."

Before she could finish Daniel Brooke pinned her on the nearby wall and closed the distance between them. He pressed her against the wall, pinched her chin hardly and said "Why didn't you come with me back then? How dare you to choose him over me?"

"Daniel you are hurting me."

Daniel Brooke released her chin and said "Now you feel pain. What about my pain? Do you have any idea how much I feel pain when I see you with another man?"

Lisa tried to push him away but failed. She said helplessly "You are drunk Daniel. We can't talk now. Let go of me."

"Oh, now you don't want to spend time with me. Hmm?"

Lisa glared at him and said angrily "You are crazy. Let go of me now."

"Crazy, huh? ..... You are the one who is driving me crazy. Why don't you understand, hmm? I am warning you Liza if you marry him I'll destroy him. You are mine, only mine. Remember that."

After saying this Daniel Brooke lowered his head and kissed her fiercely. He was sucking and biting her as if he wanted to leave the mark of his possession. Lisa was very scared with Daniel Brooke's action. He never kissed her like this. She was trying hard to set free but all her actions were futile.

On the other side, her parents were planning happily for the upcoming engagement. They both were very happy.

Linda Holmes said "I want to make pumpkin pie. Lisa likes it very much."

Mark Holmes laughed and smirked "Sometimes you should think about your husband also."

"Stop teasing me and go buy some sugar and pumpkin."

"Your wish is my command."

Linda Holmes giggled and said "Come back soon."

Mark Holmes grabbed his purse and left. When he came outside the apartment area he saw a man was kissing a woman forcefully in a corner of the alley. The woman was wriggling around to set free. Due to the dim light he couldn't identify them but when he went closer to them he can clearly see the woman. She was none other than but his daughter Lisa.

When he saw this a fire of anger erupted and he shouted loudly "Lisa, what the hell are you doing here? Who is this man?"

Sudden voice of Mark Holmes startled both of them and turned around to look at him. Daniel Brooke released Lisa and fixed his gaze at Mark Holmes.

Lisa rushed towards Mark Holmes and said with shaky voice "Dad please let me explain. He is....."

Before she could finish she was slapped hard by her father and she heard him to say "I was not expecting this from you. We are planning for your marriage and you are having affair with someone else."

"Sorry Mr. Holmes, you are the one who is separating us." This time Daniel Brooke said coldly.

Lisa turned around to face Daniel Brooke and said "Daniel please stop it. Don't make situation worst."

"What? I am making situation worst? Why don't you tell him that we love each other? Now that he saw us there is no need to hide anything. Tell him to cancel the wedding."

Lisa was feeling very helpless. She knew that the situation was not good and if Daniel Brooke didn't leave a big fight will start soon. So to avoid the fight she pleaded Daniel Brooke "Please Daniel please, you go now. It's not time to talk. I am begging you, just go."

Daniel Brooke got angrier to hear this. He glared at her and said "When is the right time? I remind you..... you are not going to marry anyone. I'll not allow it."

He then turned his gaze to Mark Holmes and said "Mr. Holmes as you know everything now so please cancel the wedding as soon as possible."

Hearing this Mark Holmes felt heaviness in his chest and also felt uneasiness while breathing. He clasped his left chest tightly to endure the uneasiness and said coldly "Over my dead body. You are arrogant and manner less. I'll never allow my daughter to have relationship with you."

Daniel Brooke chuckled and said "You can't stop me."

After saying that, he grabbed Lisa's wrist, dragged her away to leave.

Lisa was so furious that she shouted "What are you doing? Let go of me?"

Before they can go few steps Mark Holmes suddenly grabbed Daniel Brooke's arm and pulled him around. He slapped him tightly and scolded "How dare you to drag my daughter in front of me? You bastard."

Daniel Brooke was so angry that he lost all his control and grabbed the collar of Mark Holmes and scolded loudly "How dare you to slap me, old man? Do you know who am I?"

Lisa was stunned to see this and she immediately pushed away Daniel Brooke with her all might. 

She said angrily "Leave... leave now and never show me your face. I hate you Daniel. Leave... now."

Daniel Brooke glared at her and said coldly "I'll never forget this and I'll not allow you to forget this. Be ready to bear the consequences."

He turned around and left as soon as he said these.
