Inside a dimly-lit underground dungeon, Rose was chained to a chair. Countless lashes from whipping and slashes from weapons adorned her body. Wendy Lou had performed all sorts of imaginable tortures she could on Rose’s body, watching Rose suffer in pain, yet refusing to let her die just yet.

Right now, Wendy was sneering from above. “Who would have thought that one day the almighty Rose, the ace killer, would end up like this?”

Wendy reached for the blade on the table and made a clean slice of the tendons of Rose’s right hand.

“Argh!” Rose yelled a painful cry as she sucked in some air. In between breaths, she asked, “Why? Why... are you doing this?”

“Because you’re merely a wretched servant, a weapon that belonged to Abyss Group. Walter Shawn belongs to me! This is the price you need to pay for seducing my man!”

Wendy viciously stabbed the blade into Rose’s thigh, smushing the flesh of Rose’s thigh as she twisted the blade that was firmly stuck.

“I shall be frank with you. Walter and I are to be engaged soon. Furthermore, I have rid you of all your trusted aides within Abyss Group. Nobody would ever remember a nameless orphan that was picked up off the streets!” Wendy exposed the cruel reality.

“No, Walter would not allow that!” Rose shook her head.

Wendy’s underlings dragged a teenage boy into the dungeon. That was little Mike, the boy that Rose raised since he was a child. Rose screamed as Wendy shot at the boy’s thighs. “No! Don’t! Let him go!”

“Kneel! Kneel and kowtow to beg me!” Wendy demanded.

Rose slumped unto the ground and kneeled before she firmly hammered her forehead unto the ground saying, “Miss Lou, I’m sorry! I have acted out of my league to think that I could be a match to Mr. Shawn! I beg you to let go of my brother!”

Wendy burst out in laughter, followed by—Bang!

The bullet shot through Mike’s head.

“No! Wendy Lou! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you!” Rose yelled out in despair.

“Ha, kill me?” Wendy scoffed.

Bang! Another shot hit right at Rose’s chest.

Rose slumped lifelessly unto the ground as she heard Wendy’s distancing voice. “Revenge? Wait for your next life! Disfigure her face, then throw her into the woods to feed the wolves!”

Rose felt the icy cold blades slashing through her face before she was thrown like garbage into the woods. Cambodia has such complex geography that nobody would be able to save her.

In this lifetime, she had easily placed her trust on a man, thus she was destined to perish painfully. However, if there was another lifetime, she was going to hunt Wendy Lou down, and obliterate her to bits!

“Hiss-“ Rose supported her throbbing head as she sat up. What greeted her when she opened her eyes was a hospital room setting. She struggled to get up, feeling like a thousand pounds heavy. She shuffled her way to the toilet but was unable to hold back a piercing scream when she saw the mirror reflection that greeted her.

“AHHHHHHH-“ The face in the mirror was still hers, but what was with that glutton-like swelling? She pinched on the flesh of her tummy. ‘This body was at least 150 catty.’

She flipped through the hospital charts that were by the bedside. The information clearly written on it were—Charlotte Luther, 18, Female, Cerebral Concussion.

‘Who is Charlotte Luther?’

Memories belonging to Charlotte waved through her mind. Charlotte was the Luther family’s least-favored daughter. Her mother passed away early. Her father, Timothy Luther had three other children with her stepmother Suzanne Yale, a son, Justin Luther, and two daughters, Jessica and Joanna Luther. Charlotte was the third child in the Luther family, someone negligible. Furthermore, she had always been sickly and weak since young, her academic performance was always substandard, therefore nobody ever looked highly upon her.

In summary, her father did not dote on her, her mother did not love her, her grandfather despised her for being useless, she gave up on herself, and was a useless weakling.

Rose sighed. She was feeling rather despaired for being reborn into such a body. In her past life, Rose was an arrogant and cold beauty. The body of an ace killer was always in tip-top condition, and her figure was curvaceously excellent.
