Chapter 64 A Troublesome Morning

As soon as she saw the child, Natalie subconsciously frowned slightly…

This action was not an indication that she hated that child. Rather, she was worried she would get into another conflict with her.

After all, she was an adult and she would not stoop down to a child’s level even if she were furious. However, if the child continued to find ways to be mean, it would be troublesome.

On the contrary, she had guessed wrong this time around. Despite the child expressing hostility when seeing her, she did not utter anything rude to her. She only looked at John and pleaded, “Can’t you send me to school this one time, daddy?”

“Molly, didn’t we discuss this earlier?”

“But…”

Molly did not finish her sentence and gazed resentfully at Natalie.

However, Natalie thought of something when she met her gaze.

She suggested, “Why don’t you send her to school? I’ll ask the butler to send me instead!”

It seemed as if he had anticipated this to happen. Not only did John’s face express unhappiness, but his expression also took a turn for the worse.

The look he gave her was like saying, ‘I knew that you didn’t want to sit in my car. But, I’m quite adamant to send you to work, what are you going to do about it?’

“I do want you to take me there but caring for the child is a parent’s responsibility.”

“Since you put it that way, then I’ll send Molly to school first and take you to work after that.”

“There’s no need to trouble yourself.”

She declined and continued, “Moreover, we are in totally opposite directions. Once you take her to school, and then send me, you would be late for work. So, it would be better if I go by myself.”

“In short, you’re refusing to let me send you. Is that right?”

Why did this man persistently misunderstand her good intentions?

She was truly speechless. However, Natalie knew that it would be useless to argue with this guy. Once he got angry, he would do things without taking consequences into account.

Hence, even if it was troublesome, she still tried to explain to him patiently. “I don’t mean anything else. I just think that it will be good for everyone. Also, it’s the school’s open day today. Don’t you want to go and have a look?”

“... What?”

What sort of reaction was that?

Was he not aware of what day it was today, and hence rejected his daughter’s request?

He repeatedly said that he loved his child dearly. Sure enough, could one really not expect a male to be as attentive to their child?

She sighed and continued, “My brother is a senior, so there’s no need for me to stop by now. But, students in the first and second grades would still invite their parents to participate. Aren’t you aware of this?”

“How did you know about this?”

“Because my brother goes to the same school, or have you forgotten that too?”

John, “...”

“Even if children are sometimes stubborn when it comes to the thing they want, it doesn’t mean they’re stubborn without reason. I think that it’s good to spend time and speak to the children once in a while.”

Natalie looked deeply into his eyes and continued, “Take the opportunity to have a heart to heart talk as father and daughter.”

Her words were sincere, and she said it in a calm manner.

Feeling that Natalie was not being malicious, Molly’s expression was more at ease. She looked at John hopefully again.

John’s heart finally swayed seeing his daughter in this manner.

Nevertheless, he had clearly said that he was going to send her to work. Now, he had to change his plan and send his daughter to school instead. He felt slightly apologetic.

Just as he was figuring a way out of the situation, Natalie proactively waved her hand to the butler who was standing nearby. “Can you give me a ride today, Mister?”

“Of course.”

The butler was a quick-witted person as well. He understood what he was supposed to do at this moment. He drove a car and stopped it in front of Natalie. “Please do get inside the car, young madam!”

It was a narrow escape from something terrible that could have happened in the morning. Now, it felt like she had gotten through it without a single scratch.

Natalie unexpectedly felt very comfortable when she entered the hospital.

Even so, the comforting feeling only lasted for a few minutes before a very fat woman blocked her way. Her obesity made her looked like she was circled with two swimming rings at her waist. The worry-free feeling instantly fell below the freezing point.

“I heard that you’re the one who treated my husband poorly?”

“What?”

“Are you acting dumb? I even asked specifically, and they said it was you. You were the one who negligently pierced through my husband’s heart and made him more ill. How are you going to bear this responsibility?”

Her words were disjointed and did not make any sense. Natalie could not recall this family member out of the patients that she had treated. However, since the other party had already started her accusations, there was no doubt that she should clarify, “I’m sorry, but who are you?”

“What? You’re still wondering who I am? I’m the wife of the man that you tried to treat but failed.”

Judging by the flow of this conversation, it felt like there was no end to it. Natalie was not an impatient person, but it was frustrating to meet this kind of people who were not able to express herself clearly yet still scold and curse without reasoning.

Her tone got harsher as she continued asking, “So, who are you?”

“What kind of attitude are you showing me here?”

The fat woman’s facial expression changed due to anger. She pointed at Natalie’s nose and shouted, “So, this is the quality of doctors from the Huahe thoracic surgery department? This is the kind of attitude you guys have?”

“I don’t care if you’re here to say something, or whether or not if you’re here to accuse me of something. I just want to know who are you? Or maybe, you could tell me who’s the patient you’re talking about?”

“You’re still acting clueless. I’m going to look for your hospital head right now and lodge a complaint against you. I’m doing it right now…”

In the end, Natalie still had no clue who the woman’s husband was supposed to be. She could only watch as the woman went to lodge a complaint against her.

Regardless, her conscience was clear. However, a nurse who knew her was anxious for her. “I think you should follow her, Dr. Snowden. We can tell the woman’s not afraid to cause trouble…”

“But I really don’t know who she is!”

“She’s with the patient that had an acute pneumothorax. He was sent to our hospital after the first aid treatment you gave. The patient’s surname was Johnson, and he was some sort of an executive.”

“Mr. Johnson, the vice president?”

If the woman was his wife, then she should have thanked her instead, right? Was she not the one that saved her husband’s life? Why did she come here to blame her?

“I’m not sure whether or not he’s a vice president, but I think you should follow up on the situation, Dr. Snowden. If you don’t, I’m afraid that the issue might blow up.”

“Did the patient experience any problems after my first aid treatment?”

The nurse felt that Natalie had been wronged as well. She said helplessly, "There are this sort of people around. Just because they don’t understand something, they automatically assume that it’s somebody’s fault. In short, no matter how you look at it, she’s definitely here to stir trouble!”
