Just as I was preparing Mr. Knight's schedule for tomorrow, I received a call from someone I didn't know, telling me she was his mother and she wanted to have him over at their family house for lunch.

"I just received a call from your mother, she's requesting lunch" I told him. He looked so engrossed in what he was doing that I felt interrupting him, was a bad idea.

He looked like he'd snap me into two for interrupting.

"Was I scheduled for anything?" He asked rubbing his temple.

"Uhm, not really, the meeting you have with Mr. Obaseki, is by two" I informed him as I scanned through the tab.

"Call him, Mr. Obaseki, tell him I can't make it, look for some damn excuse, we'd have the meeting at 7:00 if not, we'd have it on Monday" he instructed, and I nodded my head in obedience.

After the long day, getting home was the only thing that kept me sane.

"Girl, I told you to call me when you're done with work so I'd come pick you" Mandy said as I entered into the house.

"And disturb your first day of work rest? Nah I'm good, besides, someone dropped me" I said and I wished I hadn't because, that's when I saw Sally and Nifise that has been sent from hell, stride into the living room.

Just great.

"Hey babes, who did you say dropped you?" Nifise asked at the same time Sally asked "who's he?" 

I let out a groan in frustration, rubbing my temple as I did.

"Can I at least change from my work clothes?" I said lazily as I dragged my bag to my room.

Just as I was about going into the restroom, I heard my phone ring, who could be calling me at this time?

I picked it up to see my mom calling. This woman wouldn't let me rest.

"Hey babe" I answered

"It's your father you're calling babe" she retorted making me laugh.

"Are you back from work?" She asked lovingly "yes, ma I'm back, just got home" I said, hoping she'd just tell me by she called and allow me to rest.

"Is that why you called me?" I asked carefully, knowing she'd insult me if I said the wrong word(s)

"Yes, I wanted to be sure that you're at home, how are the girls?" She asked, "they're fine o" I answered, unbuttoning my shirt.

"Okay now, I'll call them, when I feel like"she said and after years of knowing this woman, I could practically see her raising her shoulders sassily.

"You should rest" I told her

"It's your generation that should rest not me, you're forgetting that I called you abi?" She asked

"I'm sorry, but I really have to go. I'll call you, I love you shuga" I said hoping she'd just hang up.

"I love you too, sweetheart" she said and hung up.

Finally, I could have time to my self.

"Girl, how far now?" Sally said as she barged into my room.

Oh My God.

"Take, please microwave it for me, I'm coming down now" I said handing her the take away container that had my uneaten lunch in it.

"Please" I added when she didn't collect it.

"I'll tell you all you need to know" I said and she collected the container, leaving me once again, in peace.

My peace was intrupted, by my phone ringing.

What does she want now? I thought as I picked up the phone, answering it without looking at the caller.

"What is it this time mother?" I asked, only to be greeted with silence.

"I'm not your mother o" the caller said and I nearly threw my phone away, I took it from my ear to see the caller ID, but it was a strange number, the voice sounded odly familiar though.

"It's Casper joor" the caller said and I sighed in relief.

"Why didn't you say so at first?" I asked pouting "these days, I enjoy frightening you" he said and I laughed "it's just today, I won't give you that satisfaction anymore" I said and he laughed this time.

We talked a bit, and I knew, that the peace and quiet I want, I won't get it so, I just wore a black short and a white tank top and went to the living roo to meet the girls before they plan my death and burial.

"So who was they person?" Mandy asked when she saw me coming down the stairs,

I ignored her and went to the kitchen to carry my lunch- turned- dinner.

"It was Casper, y'all remember him right?" I asked and they nodded they're heads smiling at me like they were waiting for the ice breaker.

"Sooo, anything juicy happen?" Nifise asked wiggling her eyebrows at me,

"Nopee, nothing happened in fact, I just got off the call with him and he said he wants to hang out tomorrow and I should bring my tall fine friend with me so I'd be the third wheel" I said and put a large spoon of food in my mouth.

"Sally bear, why don't you tell them what happened today?" I asked, turning the table around.

"You met the famous Casper?" Mandy squealed.

While they were interrogating her, I quietly went to my room with that was left of my food.

Fun fact: the conversation November had with her mom, is how conversations with my mom always play out.
