Chapter 1

(Isabella POV)

"Papa!! Come on we are going to miss the bus!!" I shouted as I put on my shoes. 

"Slow down. You'll fall, Bella. I'll drive you if you miss the school bus" Papa said as he walked down the stairs fixing his tie.

The bus stop is a 5 minutes ride from my home and he always drops me there.Today we overslept because we spend the entire night celebrating my 15^th birthday.

Like always we got in our car and I turned on the radio and started singing along.

"Did you take your umbrella, Isabella?? It looks like there is going to be a thunderstorm." He said as I replied yes.

I looked up the sky and cringed as another lightning struck through the sky. The winds were blowing hard and honestly it looked like a tornado coming.

"Did you take your books?? Your pen?? Pepper spray?"  he asked.

"Pepper spray?? Really Papa??" I asked amused.

“Yes. You should be prepared. What if a boy advances at you?" he said seriously as I laughed heartily. 

My papa over here is hell protective of me, a little too much you can say. But still, I love him. My momma died when I was 5 years old. Papa is the only family I have.

Suddenly a lightning strike in front of us as I screamed. Papa cursed as he pulled the breaks but something went very wrong.

The car hit some unknown object. I swear there was nothing in front of us!

I was thrown to the front but a hand caught me from hitting the glass. The car somersault through the air and hit the ground.

"Papa!!!" I screamed as I felt pain all through my body.

"Shhh… I’m here baby Bella. Calm down. Are you alright? Does anything hurt?" He asked his voice seems to be filled with pain.

"I'm alright papa. Are you ok?" I asked crying.

"Yes, I am. Belle, I want you to slowly remove your seat belt and get out thought the window. Be careful not to step on the glass. Ok...” he said breathing heavily.

"What about you papa," I asked. I can't lose him. He's the only one I have left in my life. 

"I'll be alright baby. I want you to run to the nearest gas station and tell them about this. Remember papa loves you and won't let anything happen to you. Be a brave girl and always be kind and help others" he said as he started coughing.

"Hurry we don't have much time" he said as I nodded and removed the seat belt falling on the process. My knee burnt as I felt a piece of glass pierce through it.

I crawled out and shouted "papa, hang in there! I'll find help!”before I ran to the direction of the nearest gas station ignoring my pain. Suddenly I heard an explosion and I immediately looked back to find my car exploding to flames.

"Papa!!!!" I cried running back to the car but only to stop and watch a guy in a glowing violet suit and a big gun looking at me.

His eyes were mysterious and shined violet. His face was void as he started to walk to me.

Without a single thought I dashed to the forest but I can hear footsteps following close. 

I applied more pressure to my aching legs but I slipped falling off a cliff into a swarm of mud as everything around me turned black.

My eyes snapped open and groaned rubbing my aching head. It's been so long since I had that dream.

I got out of my 'not so comfortable' bed, wore my almost worn shoes and got out of my underground house to get some fresh air.

Yes I know it's dangerous, the aliens can kill me but all I want now is some time to think. 

It has been 5 years since papa's death. 5 years since I lost the last part of my family. 5 years since the alien attack.

After falling from the cliff I was taken by a group of refugees who trained me to be a health reliever.

Yes, I am now a doctor.

After 3 years of training I left the place and started my own clinic in the underground. It was more of a relief support home to children who lost their parents, wives who lost their husbands and other people without shelter. It was also one of the aiding centers to the injured soldiers.

Suddenly I heard a noise to my left making me freeze. It seems like a person is groaning in pain. I slowly moved to the sound of the noise to only see a guy, so handsome that it is a sin.

He was crouching, his back facing me. His hair was a mix of white and ash.

"Oh my god!" I said as I saw blood. He seemed to be badly injured in his leg as blood flow through it.

"A...are you alright?" I asked worriedly.

"St...Stay....a...away" he grunted and I stopped in my steps.

"Urgh!!" He shouted in pain swaying as though he will lose his consciousness any moment. 

"You're wounded badly!! Please let me take care of you!" I said as I walked closer and it seems he didn't notice me approaching as he looked at me with wide eyes. I sat down on my knees and looked at his wound. 

"Don't touch me" he shouted but he fell forward as I caught hold of him sending a wave of shock through my body.

I didn't know what to do. I can't carry him back and I can't leave him alone to go call for help. His wound is getting serious every minute.

"Isabella!! What are you doing here!! Wait, who is that!?" I heard a voice from behind making me look back.

“Daniel!" I shouted in happiness as I saw one of the soldiers I treat appear before me.

"Oh thank god you are here! Help me take him to the clinic. He is hurt bad!" I shouted.

He nodded without hesitation and quickly picked him up and we walk back to the clinic with the wounded man.
