Songs of heartbreak
Author: Venom01The studio was deserted, all except for one lone figure, seated at a piano, waiting for the night to lull the Alpha to sleep so she wouldn't feel him anymore.
April knew that the lyrics to her latest song would stir up some emotions, but maybe it would prove cathartic for her heart as well.
Writing about Zade was always hard, but bringing the lyrics to life with her voice took the pain to a whole new level, it made her heart bleed, combined with her wolf's melancholy howling it sometimes drove her a little mad.
The music started out slowly, April's fingers gliding across the keys, like a familiar lover as she hummed the opening bars, losing herself in the song.
"You step into the night, complete the darkness, with your silver smile and eyes that see through the parts of me, covered in other people's prints.
You bleed me dry, tearing at this foolish heart, this foolish heart of mine, and I come undone. So take what you need from me, I give all I am to you, I bare my throat to you, put my trust in you, and yet you let me go.
So now I reach out I reach for up the sky. And I'm running out of reasons not to die. Don't let me don't let me go on. Why am I forever and always alone? You were the shadow to my light, but did you see me, did you feel me bleed?
A stranger, I'm just a stranger outside looking in at you smothered in other people's prints and right now I need a miracle I think I'm losing my mind now, set me free don't murder me, don't watch me bleed. Don't let me bleed out on the floor."
April knew the song was in its rough stages, and there were many nights ahead working with the band to polish it before she was to be put on display, singing her heart out. A part of April wondered if Zade heard her music, had he figured out the lyrics were about him?
It was the only way she could communicate her pain and she hoped deep down, her fated mate hurt just as badly.
As April crossed out lyrics and reworked them to the piece of music she had chosen, she was unaware of being watched, the shadows shimmering slightly as the Goddess who had taken an interest in her made sure the young lady couldn't see her.
NEFELE
Sometimes, she reacted before thinking things through, but the young Goddess was tempestuous and had taken a liking to the she-wolf bleeding lyrics into the mic, and, well sometimes gals just have to have each other's backs.
FLASHBACK
Nefele enjoyed creating storms.
From her vantage point up in the Heavens, the cloud Goddess put every ounce of emotion she had into making her once a year worldwide event as fierce as possible; usually, the silly little humans had enough sense to stay inside while she wreaked havoc upon the land but that year, as the heart of her creation, was nearing its magnificent crescendo, Nefele spotted a small gathering of were creatures forming a circle around two figures.
Feeling affronted, the vengeful Goddess pointed her fingers near them, sending lightning crashing into the trees behind the circle, thinking this should be enough to send the ugly creatures scurrying into their homes, but no one moved.
Piqued now, Nefele summoned a blanket of heavy rain and hurled the angry mass towards the circle, but still, no one moved.
"AAaaaaargh!" How infuriating!
Deciding that this warranted a closer look, she settled into her true form and floated closer.
The two wolves in the center were clearly going through the rejection process, a curious little ceremony that Nefele personally found distasteful.
She knew how her sister Selene agonized over each pairing she made, and rejections from fated mates tended to cause death in the weakest wolf, which was truly barbaric.
The young she-wolf stood bravely though, on her own as the male grandstanded to their audience, and Nefele's brow furrowed at his arrogance.
Against her better judgment, she seeped into both minds, trying to locate the source of the rejection. and whilst the young she-wolf held nothing but purity in her soul, Nefele could plainly see that the young male Alpha wanted a strong bloodline to bear his future pups.
The petite woman stood her ground as Nefele's storm raged around her, refusing to bow down and accept the rejection and the cloud Goddess found herself admiring her inner strength; how wrong it was to assume higher blood meant stronger children, as Nefele recalled many an underdog coming out on top and proving more worthy than those of higher rank.
Making up her mind, she whispered the words in an ancient language known only to the Gods, and set in motion a course that would change werewolf kind forever.
As transparent as mist in the rain Nefele placed a kiss lighter than a lover's sigh on the she-wolf's throat, infusing her voice with the gift of fertility, whilst simultaneously unleashing the curse of sterility on all male werewolves, the only cure would be the gift of song, the only person who could save their species from extinction would be the little wolf they were carelessly throwing away.
"Don't let them take that from you little wolf." The young Goddess whispered as the pack males led April away, and satisfied that justice had been served she let loose the storm of the century, reminding Earth dwellers of the power of the Gods.
END OF FLASHBACK
Nefele was only seen when she wanted to be, and over the past couple of years she found herself popping in regularly to check in with her self appointed charge, yes she watched as April fought against the rogue madness, stood by when she sung in the streets for a crust of bread, manipulated the weather so the young wolf wasn't too cold out on her own.
Of course, she couldn't help but meddle a little in that upstart little Alpha's life too, a fact that his wolf was only too happy to support her in.
And a cheeky smile flitted across her face as she remembered the look on Zade's face the first time Chase had torn the throat out of his bed companion; Nefele had damn near fallen off her cloud with laughter.
From within the comforting shadows of April's studio, she was able to properly see the tremors underneath the young girl's skin, it wouldn't be long now until April's wolf released herself and was ready to face the world again, blood will call to blood, soulmates will be reunited and Nefele hoped April was ready to face the maelstrom.

In his arms Breaking dawn
'I don't want to open my eyes.' Celine tried so hard to stay asleep but, her body wouldn't cooperate and she badly needed to pee. "Kevin, can you pass me my robe honey?" She mumbled. It was the lack of response from her husband that made her slowly open one eye. For a second she was puzzled at her surroundings, and then it all came rushing back, and Celine shot up, reaching for Kevin, but her hand only encountered the cold sheets. And she knew. With tear-filled eyes, she glanced around, looking for anything that would tell her he had changed his mind, and Celine's heart skipped a beat when the flashing of his cell phone caught her attention. Stuck to the screen was a post-it note, with Kevin's telltale chicken scribble on it, and through her tears, she smiled at the typical Keviness of it."Press play." The chicken scribble read. And so she did. There was a moment when her clumsy man dropped his phone before he righted it, and Celine found herself looking

Titan watched as the Queen slowly rose from the ground. Blood lent savagery to her features as she looked straight at the wolves who were slowly working themselves into a frenzy. "Leave this place!" She demanded in an ancient tone, punctuated by the snap in her eyes as her dragon warred within her. "Honor your Alpha, he died a warriors death today without fear in his heart and let no one speak any differently." Her power was undeniable as the soundwaves rippled with it, and then April turned to Todd who still lay on the ground, winded from tackling a 300lb man."Thank you." She said simply but, to Todd at least, it sounded an awful lot like goodbye."I know about your curse, and I promise to come back with you to cure it, but you must leave these lands today, leave the Desdayos dragons in peace, and never return."Todd stood up, and even his wolf agreed that the woman standing before them was very different from the childhood friend he remembered. It seemed fitt

"Sweet Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!" Kevin yelled as he grabbed Celine and dove out of April's way.Todd threw himself in the opposite direction, narrowly escaping the swipe of an angry tail as April shot forward, bellowing again in defiance as she faced off against the God of Monsters himself.Typhon answered in kind, transforming into his monstrous dragon, angered beyond reason that this insignificant female dared to break the rules of combat. The tension in the air was palpable as April refused to back down, choosing instead to bellow a second challenge as she stepped in front of Adrastus and Zade, shielding them both against Typhon's beast.Adrastus stopped pursuing Zade, as he looked on in wonder at the beauty of his Queen, and he was in such awe, it took him a moment to realize what April was doing."April, no!" He exclaimed as Typhon grew to twice his size, shaking loose his mountain of muscles as he prepared to attack, and April turned her head, cocki

"Where is my mate?" Chase asked, ignoring the slap to his human face as he scented the air around April, but Fleetfoots unique scent was gone. April ignored his question, shaking off her friends' support as she stepped right up to him."Why are you doing this? You rejected me Zade, you rejected me. You shattered my heart and left me laying there broken in the rain. My friend would never have done that, my mate would have accepted me, whatever you're doing here is wrong, please just walk away and let me be happy." April finished in a whisper. Zade looked deeply into her eyes, and his gaze flickered from him to his wolf as they both struggled for control. Finally, the wolf conceded, allowing Zade to come through."I'm sorry April, I'm sorry for a lot of things, I'm sorry for listening to my father and bowing down to his will, I'm sorry for the pain that I caused you, and I'm sorry that it took me so l

Celine entered the chamber like a hectic tornado, causing Kevin to jump and Todd to startle from his awkward nap on the floor. "What the hell is going on?" Neville cursed from April's bedside."The Gods are walking the earth and we don't have much time," Celine answered, flicking her wrist to remove Todd's shackles and turning to her husband. "Your time to think is over Kevin, either you accept me, and all of the other supernaturals you're surrounded by, yes that's right, these three are werewolves," Celine muttered impatiently, "Or you walk away and get off this mountain while you still can."Todd scrambled to his feet as Kevin stood overwhelmed and rushed over to April's side, "What can I do to help?" He asked as he looked protectively at his friend, and Celine smiled gratefully at the Beta wolf."We need to wake April up before it's too late."Neville called to Titan, and she materialized in front of him already holding a tincture she had prepared, "Th
In his arms Time
Nefele watched as the wolves circled the bottom of the mountains. She was ordered by Zeus not to interfere but no one said that she wasn't allowed to watch how this whole thing played out, so here she was, staring into the waters of fate."Make a little room sister." A quiet voice said from behind her, and moments later Selene sat down as well, looking on with a frown."Typhon is angry with you too you know," Selene murmured, biting into an apple as she waited for the fight to begin, and Nefele just shrugged, choosing to remain silent. Typhon was a solitary God, preferring to keep to himself in the lakes of Mount Olympus as he watched over all of his monsters. Dragons were under his protection and guidance, which meant that Adrastus was his creation and the prophecy concerning April had been written by Typhon himself. As such it was no wonder that Nefele wasn't in his good books right now."I understand why you saved April," Selene admitted, watching the water a

"It would be a simple matter for me to pop down, heal her, and whizz back up, nobody would even see me, so I really don't see a problem."Zeus sat on his throne, trying to mitigate between two of his subjects. Nefele was always doing things that caused serious problems for the humans but n
