CHAPTER TWO
Author: Tracy KeysSophia's POV
The party had ended due to my sudden exclamation which caused a lot of murmuring among them.
I was growing angry and impatient as I was so desperate to listen to my father's reasons for announcing an engagement without telling me before.
It was more infuriating as he sat down, saying nothing at all.
I wasn't ready for any marriage and I wasn't going to do so. Especially not to man that I've never known.
"Oh yes you are young lady." My dad replied in a slightly hoax tone.
"Dad listen I_"
"There is no contradiction here daughter." He interrupted and continued immediately. "You are marrying Tony Hartz and that's final." He said and left.
Dad was even more angry than I was...
Milicent's POV
I walked inside the bedroom immediately after my husband and closed the door.
"She has refused to marry him. What now?" I asked and he didn't say a thing. He just chuckled seconds after.
"What is so funny?" I asked and he looked at me.
"You my dear." He replied.
"When did you start caring about her?" He asked and I scoffed. Not like I cared.
"I am not being caring. I am just asking you a simple question. Cindy has shown her interest and in the man. Why can't you let her marry him?"
"No." He interrupted.
"Sophia is marrying him and that's final." He scolded and went to bed to sleep.
I walked to the other side of the bed and sat on it, wondering on what could be the deal in forcing a marriage on someone that did not want it.
Tony's POV
"I knew he would accept the offer." My dad told the old seer and I sighed.
I just hated the fact that I couldn't do anything to stop the engagement because I also wasn't happy hearing that I had to be bonded in marriage to someone as rude as her.
*****
"Did you just call me rude?" Sophia chirped in.
"You are interrupting." Cindy scolded but Sophia cared less.
"But he just called me rude."
"Of course I did. You were so rude. Did you even collect the flowers I gave you that day with a smile?" He asked and she kept mute.
"Well you were - but right now, you are the best wife and any man will be jealous of me right now." Tony said earning a blush from her and purrs from the others.
"Ok! So where was I?"
*****
My phone rang and it was Cindy calling. I presumed that she must have be devastated at the announcements.
"They have to get married in two months time and during the full moon." The seer said.
I was confused but more of shocked, wondering if it wasn't too early for me to get married.
"Sorry. Is it not too early?" I asked the seer and he looked at me expressionless.
"It is never too early. You have to do it quick. You know the consequences of further delay." I just nodded.
I wasn't that much bothered because the period of two months was enough time for me to sought things out and annul the wedding.
"I will be in my room now." I told them and headed upstairs for my room so I could make a call to Cindy.
She answered the call after a third ring.
"Hey babe." I greeted as soon as she picked up the call.
She sniffed as a reply.
"Cindy! Are you alright?" I asked and she scoffed.
"Yes I'm fine. Since my boyfriend is getting married to my step-sister." She wailed over the phone.
"Hey listen. I_"
"I really don't want to hear it." She cut me.
"How could you allow them choose for you?" She cried again but I couldn't tell her the reason why because it was silly and she wouldn't have believed it.
I even wondered on how I was going tell her that it was necessary without raising her suspicions.
"Tony, are you there?" She asked and I sighed.
"Yes I am. Look here Cin, I will find a way to annul this ok. I won't marry her. I won't even get engaged to her."
"Ok. Good night. I want to sleep." She ended the call immediately and I sighed.
I needed to start working on this. I needed to find a way to break the curse.
Sophia's POV
I still wasn't able to sleep at all. I mean who would have slept when the day had been spoiled?
Despite every single moment that I was trying to catch some sleep, the thoughts still came back, precisely the part where dad said he was getting me engaged. I kept asking myself why he had to make such a decision without even telling me.
A worried heart and a troubled soul was what I was left with the whole night. But my mind had been made up not to get married because I just did not want to.
****
"But Cindy I saw you going out that night." Sophia said and Cindy's countenance changed to a guilty look.
"Well yes you did. I didn't want anyone to see that I was going out that late at night." She replied.
General POV
Cindy walked out of the gate and entered a car that was waiting for her outside.
Her ride reached it's destination and she went out and knocked on the gate.
Someone opened it for her and she walked in.
"If it isn't my lucky day." A man said from the dark walking into the light.
"Cindy Alfredo Devale. What brings you to my den?" The man asked in a husky tone.
"I need you to do me a favour." She said in a hoax voice and smirked afterwards.
~~~
Tony's father was seen descending the stairs and momentarily taking a look at the stairs just above him. He was walking quickly but swiftly to the old seer so as to avoid noise.
"He's asleep." He said. "What now?" He asked the seer who just feigned a smile.
"We can't keep lying to him Mr Hartz. Tony will eventually die." The old seer said while Tony's dad closed his eyes tight in pain.
I'M THE BOSS CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
?SOPHIA? After breaking up with Henry earlier on today, I felt bad like I had committed the gravest of sins. Maybe I did a bad thing by breaking up with him today, or maybe not. I retired home only to meet Tony's dad and my dad. They told me of the change in program and apologised for any inconvenience. "Two weeks!" I yelled completely shocked. "It was supposed to be in two months. Why the sudden shift?" I asked calmly. Normally, I would have raised my tone on them but I couldn't do so. "Like we said. We are sorry for the inconveniences." Tony's dad apologised. "Well it is ok." I told them. "I am not against the wedding anymore." Dad looked perplexed and I understood clearly because I'm not the type to conform to decisions so easily but I just did. I am a dif
✨SOPHIA ✨ I sat in the park waiting for Henry to show up. It's never written in a man's dictionary to be late but Henry had this special gene of coming unusually late for anything and he still has the habit. I constantly checked my time because I had better things doing than just to sit here and listen to the endless gossips and chatters I heard from the jobless ladies around. It was more than 30 minutes since I arrived here and he hasn't shown up. I shouldn't have come, it was bad thinking I could meet up with him. , what made me ever think that he was here in Atlanta? I stood up to leave when I spotted him coming towards me majestically. He will never change, will he? He has this manner of walking with his left hand in his left trouser’ pocket while his other hand is busy on the buttons of his tight check shirt. He has sha
✨ CINDY✨He was pleased when he saw us, looking at his face, his tan skin, his pale blue eyes, I knew instantly that he was special. There was a kind of bond that I felt between us but yet, I didn't understand. "Did you girls have to rent an apartment for me to be living in?" He asked with the sweetest of voices possible. Still amazed by the fact that he is here. Like he is here. Cynthia said yanking me off from my thoughts, "Look!" She told him. "We had to do it because it is our responsibility to treat our guests right." She said. I nodded in agreement to her statement. I decided to chirp in..."It's nothing. We will do more for the one that is here to help us." I told him. "Ok. Thanks so much for the kind gesture." He said. "After some few minutes, we both left, I and Cynthia back home. But she was unnecess
✨ SOPHIA ✨ It'd been two days after that tragic incidence at EVERGREEN. I even had to sue them but we discovered Tony hadn't tasted anything there, not even the water there. So I let them be and withdrew the case from court. I never had time to visit him nor call him, making me a bad friend. But I know he already is fine. Right at that moment, I had a Jennifer Howells case on my mind. She was out of comma yesterday so today, I was going to talk to her concerning the accident that she had. I was dressed in a green knee-length flared gown with a black belt on the gown. I wore black flats and picked my black bag. My hair was packed in a bun, a fat one at that. I took my new phone and placed it in my bag. I went out of the house but not after sighting my step mom, dad and her daughters. After some minutes, I was in Jennifer's private ward. Luckil
? SOPHIA? RECAP: ...Reality struck me. It was indeed my Tony trying to survive. ... I hurriedly stood from my seat, with one quick step I moved to his seat opposite me, and caught him before he fell down. At that moment I was panicking so I had no idea of any first aid aside from calling for help. Since we both were in the VIP section, and the only ones there, there was no way someone could have witnessed what was going on, aside the waiter who didn't seem to notice. I turned and saw him leaving so I called him back. "Hey!" I called and he hurried to where I was without me asking for his help since he had seen the condition in which Tony was. "Please help me." I cried out to him as soon as he came towards us. Tony was still in blood convulsions. "Miss please be calm we have to take him to the hospital. He needs medical a_" "Will you shut the hell up and h
I'M THE BOSS CHAPTER THIRTEEN
*Tony* I stood there staring at her with mouth opened. She looked so stunning in that dress, I barely recognized her as boss queen. She had loosened her hair and coiled it. I watched her draw closer as she descended the stairs. I studied her every single step she made. Thanks to the short length of the gown, I was able to look and admire her perfect and flawless straight legs. "Hi!" She greeted as soon as she reached where I stood, the exit door of their house. I suddenly lost my tongue because I knew not what to say. "You look breathtakingly gorgeous." I complimented the very first thing that came in mind. "Well you don't look bad either." She replied and I nodded. We stood there staring at each other in the eyes and I don't know if her eyes communicated what mine did because she broke off the connection. "Well let's get going." I tol
