From within him, a deep, rumbling growl surfaces louder and louder. The stillness of his chest moves in and out as if he is trying to catch his breath. I knew this was wrong. How could he? He is a vampire. Vampires don't breathe. They are fucking dead.

Slowly, I back away from him as the floor beneath me trembles. The dressers rock back and forth, dumping the drawers and several piles of clothes onto the floor. One by one, the pictures fall off the hooks. A vase of red and black flowers shatter, leaking not water but a red liquid trail. I scream and jump out of the way as a chandelier drops from the ceiling and shatters glass everywhere. One enormous golden frame picture of two archangels slides sideways off the hook while the smaller frames fall onto the floor. An antique marbled vase falls off of the dresser and burst into a million of small broken pieces.

"Someone help me!" I beg.

The bed shakes, making it nearly impossible for me not to fall over or worse…

“Katrina, I am not strong enough to help you. I tried! I really did. It is too late for you now, you fool!” The voice spats at me.

“No, it's not!” I argue, trying my best not to give up.

Ever so slowly, he lifts his head. His eyes are black and soulless. His skin color washes away as a shadow emerges from his chest and slowly separates from his body. Covering my mouth, I try my best not to scream as the demonic creature shifts its head and looks at me. There are no eyes, just empty black holes. The Demon has three fingers each and smelled of burned ash. The more I stare at it, the more I recognize what it is.

"Katrina!" The voice yells out.

“I know,” I answer as I glare into the eyes of the demon. “It’s an Orramoth. Fucking body leeches.”

The Orramoth stretches its body and immediately turns its attention to me. I watch in horror as it opens its mouth and glides across the room. The demon's empty eyes shift red and make a clucking sound. My throat becomes dry. I can barely breathe as it sucks the oxygen from my parted lips.

The closer it comes, I claw at my neck for help and plea to my inner voice for help, "Help me! Please, I can't breathe!"

“I know! It… it's… killing us!” The voice begs weakly. “Hurry… get us out of here…. now!”

 I answer weakly, "I'm trying, but I can't!"

"Yes, you can!" She yells back.

"Don't you dare give up now!"

I looked to the vampire, hoping he could help me escape. I discover he has not fallen or passed out. He is left standing frozen solid in his place. His eyes are empty and staring off into another world.

Helplessly, I watch as the black shadow grows larger and larger until it hovers ten feet over my entire body. I can not see the vampire’s body anymore. The Orramoth has him blocked by its massive shadow. "Dear God! Help me!" I plead.

The color of the Orramoth's eye changes again. This time, they slowly fill to the brim with a blood-red liquid and small black veins. I watch as the tiny veins dance across the pupils like they are putting on a show. From the corner of its mouth, black droplets tease his cracked grey lips. It was as if the longer he floated in front of me and the more breaths he took, the more solid his body became.

The Orramoth reaches out to me and smiles with open arms. It chanted over and over.

"She will be miiiiiine.

Until the end of tiiiiime.

She will be miiiiine.

Her days are goooone.

It won't be looooong.

Until the end of tiiiiime."

"No!" I whispered weakly as a single tear slid down my cheek.

"She belongs to meeeee!" It says as it slithers closer to my face. Cold chills spread over my bare body. It feels as if the sheet isn't even covering a single inch of me. As I attempt to move, it growls louder. A tear slid down my trembling. I am shaking so hard that my hands can barely grip the mattress and sheets.

"Miiiiine." It threatens and reaches its long fingers out to my tongue.

"Please...no!" I cough through the words.

“Please!”

As its transparent hand touches mine, all the nerves and sensation slip away, making my hand feel cold as ice. As the chills traveled through my arm and up my shoulder, I looked down at my skin and realized that it had turned ash-grey. My heart speeds up rapidly, causing it to feel as if it is pounding through my chest. The pain is unbearable. My throat burns as my breathing completely stops. I feel the room fading away. I close my eyes. The room is silent. Moments pass as I feel the rest of my body become cold and still.

A distant screeching sound echoes throughout the room. It pierces sharply through my ears. I slowly open my eyes. Everything is blurry. I hear another growl booming louder and stronger than the demon. I can see the shadow backing away from my body. I try to see what is going on or what could be stronger than it, but the room is too blurry. I can not completely make out the details, but I can see another shadow coming towards me—a tall man in the distance. I want to move, to run into anything… but I can't.

"It's going to be okay." The stranger reassures. "I'm here now. I swear to you, he will never touch you again!" A pair of powerful arms glide around my body. The moment he touches my body, the room becomes pitch black. All I can hear is the distant sound of boots hitting the floor, and a door slamming loudly into my ears. I close my eyes and allow the night to consume me.

His Destined Queen   Chapter: Fifteen: Finding Answers

“The World of the Unknown. A book to die for.” My mother used to tell me stories of Vampires, Werewolves, Demons, the Orramoths, and the worst of them all, the Darklings. Most of the creatures she told me they blew out of proportion. She said writers did this to make a dollar or two, and some did it to scare the shit out of their kids and make them listen.&nb

His Destined Queen   Chapter Fourteen: The World of the Unknown

“The Darklings?” A trail of burning tears, one by one, flow down my cheek. I try my best to whip them away. Each one keeps coming. Another and another. I didn’t want to cry, but there was a part of it that felt so damn familiar. It was pulling at every ounce of my soul. How could I push down the gut-wrenching feeling? It was impossible. Completely. Utterly. Impossible.

His Destined Queen   Chapter Thirteen: The Dark Side

The darkness fades away. My eyes flutter open and adjust to where I am. Looking around, I discover I am in a horrific bathroom all alone. The walls are now moldy with grey bricks, and there are cobwebs on every corner and crevice. Leading to the slimy cement floors are rusted water stains and by the toilet. There is what I assume to be human feces smeared against the sides of an old wooden cabinet. Covering my mouth, I look away and hold back my vomit. I realize Raquel has sucked me into my worst nightmare."N-no, Raquel," I whisper in fear

His Destined Queen   Chapter Eleven: Marked Identity

With one hand, Raquel moves his shaft out of the way, and with the other, he cups his hands around his balls and moves them so I can see the tattoo. The moment I see it, I am drawn in by its power. “Wow, Raquel. It is beautiful…” I whisper more towards myself. The tattoo is of no ordinary design. The intricate details almost seem inhumanly made. Swirls of dusty-grey storm clouds surround a midnight-blue sword. They begin at the handles and spiral throughout the golden blade. Behind the sword lays black and blue tip wings. Each feather tip is like a tempestuous addiction. The closer I come, I want to touch it.Visions of the wings wrapping around me, never allowing me to escape, consume my thoughts. I look up at Raquel and shiver, not understanding how
