When her gaze landed on us she jumped frightened, hitting the wall behind and letting out a piercing scream. Slapping a hand over her mouth, she took a closer look.

“I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult” I scoffed. But I didn’t blame her. A grown-up man with puppy eyes and a waving back and forth tail who was idiotically grinning at her with his fangs exposed, along with a quite awesome fae female was unusual for her, to say at least.

She was still staring when we started our talk about do’s and don’ts. After we tried our best explanations we encouraged her to ask her questions. At first, Jocelyn's voice was so hoarse and low that even with our hearing we should do our best to hear.

I left feeling tired again. You need more time to recharge after a trip to humans. Jo became comfortable with Jade so I could get a rest. I had an idea about her but wasn’t sure yet.

Deciding to relax I climbed the roof above my room. Our house was on a hill surrounded by sky scratching, thousands of years old trees. From my spot, I had an amazing view of Celirium. I fell in love with it long ago, from the first time I climbed up here actually, then it became a habit. Whenever something felt wrong I would be here, contemplating its vibrant energy.

The Palace in the north part was built half under the hill atop which was the oldest sacred tree, legend said it was there where the first fairy appeared. The Palace was huge, to say at least, built of light blue and white stones, its finest gothic architecture proudly towered over the city. The main streets in the valley were surrounded by rich mansions, expensive shops, and restaurants. Then there were other parts of Celirium, with suspended bridges and roads to connect the constructions up in the trees. Little streams, lakes, and waterfalls were all over. Our lives depend on nature so we built our civilization around it and not instead.

I lift my gaze to the starry sky, always being amazed by its surreal beauty. I used to wish that I had wings, big and strong, with silvery feathers. And I wished so hard about them that I could feel their heaviness hanging from my back. I spread them wide and shot into the night.

Coming back to reality, I decide to go down to the training room.

After a few hours of exercising my sword skills with another member of Tamor’s ‘society,’ I feel as I am about to cough my lungs out. My body is covered in sweat and trembling from the exhaust, blood leaking from some fresh cuts. Our training was always rough, however, we all knew it was better safe than sorry. Just then the door swung open and I saw a familiar figure which caught the attention of all males in the room. Her rose-gold messy hair flows down to the lower back, she was covered in dirt and gray blood (some troubles on the way I guess). Once the beautiful pale blue dress was now worth of trash bin. Her skin got darker than usual like she was at the beach and not in the mountains, and her angelic face was concerned about something.

“How could you hide that from me?!” Rosalind yelled from the doorway. Running towards me she hugged me so tight I could barely brief. Then she smacked the back of my head.

“Ouch”, “What are you even talking about? And what was that for?” I asked confused.

“About your breakup with Colm obviously, you dummy.” She throws me a sympathetic look. Making me laugh.

“You run in here covered in dirt and blood and you are actually concerned about my relationship with a worthless male?” I chuckled as we made our way to the dorms.

“What?” I thought there was something serious between you?” she exclaimed confused.

“Yeah, I thought as well, but no.”

“What? How come?”

“Well, he was thinking I’m a florist from a small shop, and so I was not worthy of him. That told me enough. He wanted just to fuck me for a while. I wouldn't have a problem with that if he wasn't lying about our bright future.” I replied smirking. Ro gazed at me like I became a pixie.

“So that’s you who beat him almost to death?”

“Yeah, well, he insulted me, it was his fault anyway” I scoffed, she shacked her head in disappointment, “What about you?” I asked motioning at her.

“Met two trolls in mountains, they tried to take advantage of a lonely girl.”

“Now are you happy that I insisted on you to train with us?”

"Well, I have to admit that my powers aren't always enough."

She then hugged me tight and I mirrored her action.

“I missed you so much.” She confessed.

“I missed you too Ro.”

We split to our rooms for a shower, wanting to meet afterward but Tamor summoned me to his office. I hoped it may be about another mission, so I could think about anything but Dumarque, but am I that lucky?

When I came in, he was sitting at his massive wooden desk reading some papers. His office was spacious, always neat, and impersonal. Walls filled with books and documents, large windows forming a wall with a panoramic view over Celirium. Polished wood covers almost everything around. I sat down in a comfy chair across from Tamor, waiting for him to finish his read.

“I received some invitations to the reception held by a close friend of Lord Allaway, our minister of war.” He explained lifting his eyes meeting mine.

“Okay so where I am in this?”

“I want you to approach his right hand, Basil Vadas, he appeared around two weeks ago out of nowhere, we searched but couldn’t find anything and that is strange, he has an influence on Allaway, and is pushing him and everyone else on continuing this war.”

“Why don’t get rid of him?”

“It’s too early for that. I want to know what he has on the minister.”

“Okay, you have something specific in mind?”

“Well they may be lovers, but I think Vadas is also in females.”

“Seduce him then. I hate this kind of mission.” I sighed heavily.

“I know but Carmila is busy and Rosalind is out of the discussion.”

“Yeah, I know. When is the big event I want to sniff around Vadas before it.”

“In three nights.”

I think about all this for a moment.

“I think it’s enough to prepare.” I agree, still thinking about details, “as whom I go there?”

“I intercepted an invitation on Lylia Jordin’s name,” he said handing me the envelope. I smiled recognizing my fake identity. Which I used so many times.

“So I am back on Lilium street?”

“Yes I arranged for the house to be ready by tomorrow so pack your things, Jade is moving there with you as your butler, oh and the girl is coming as well.”

“Wow, that’s some improvement in her state,” I say, shocked that Jocelyn is coming.

“Yes, that was her wish, she grew some trust towards Jade and don’t want to be apart.”

“Did Jade told you that she may be his mate?” I asked Tamor nodded at that. “I think she may be a werewolf, I caught a slight scent, but because of her fear and weakness I’m not sure.”

“That’s interesting, she may not know as well, we’ll wait and see.” he thoughtfully replied, “now go pack.” he dismissed me when I was about to close the door I heard him saying: “be careful Sky.”

I smiled at him “Always.”

I let out a sigh. Seducing wasn't hard for me. But trying not to kill those males was. Although I like this work, sometimes I hardly can contain my feelings. Especially anger is getting the best of me. But still, the challenge, and adventure, and a way of letting out this turmoil inside of me, all this was addictive. Occasionally I think about 'what could've been if-', but nevertheless, I always choose this path in the end. Maybe I was born to become an assassin. Perhaps I wouldn't be satisfied even if I had a peaceful life.

I almost reached my room when I heard a boom in there.

Her Story   Chapter 16

“Wake up and shine.” A well-known voice yelled from somewhere. Groaning loudly I tried to untangle the covers from around my body. Upon opening, my gray eyes met a pair of dark red ones. Not even 10cm away. I jerked back into the pillows. My legs hit his side, resulting in him falling off the bed.“What the fuck, Damon?!” I growled at him, getting up from the other side. He was still laughing.“Not an evening fae?” He smirked, standing up from the floor.“Not when someone appears before me like that! Gods!”Rolling my eyes I went to take my clothes.“What hour is it actually?”The sun hasn’t set yet so it must be early in the evening.“Six.”Oh, why? Why everyone tends to wake me

Her Story   Chapter 15

I snuggled closer to the crock of his neck, watching the motion of his raven wings. Strong and beautiful. Not like the ones I saw most of the time, which were butterfly, dragonfly type, or something similar, fragile and smaller. Damon’s were massive, vigorous. Suiting a warrior. Suiting a king. He landed again on the mans

Her Story   Chapter 14

I hate carriages. These small spaces get the worst of me. But it was the proper way for a lady to travel so I must endure. Surrounded by walls, I couldn’t distract from my thoughts. I shouldn’t leave like that. I felt Vadas’s gaze following me, he either knew something or was suspecting. I sensed a change in his attitude. I guess I lost this one. And what now? I probably screwed up ‘Lylia’. This identity was one of the most complex. It took me 4 years to build a credible background for her. And Tamor. Gods. I can’t imagine what he will do. Arriving home I was still trying to figure out what to do. But when I approac

Her Story   Chapter 13

Vadas POV Well, well. Who finally decided to step in the light?! He gives the impression to be wilder than before. I guess his hidden place in the forest did no good to him. Still, his charisma is rocking the crowd. All creatures present in the room are dropping their mouths. Murmurs spreading like a wildfire. That hasn’t changed. I look down at my baby. Her face is one of total indifference or so she tried, but, I caught a glimpse of fury. Interesting.

Her Story   Chapter 12

Damon POV I smirk crossed my face as I saw her. The little one was beautiful in yellow. I watched quietly her spectacle. The fucking asshole was all over her. He was worrying. So Lilith already had him at her little finger. Nice. Still, the way she looked at him at some point- I stepped a bit forward when she looked up, and she instantly spotted me. I gave
