Birthday

I would have slept through the whole day, but my cell phone, home phone, and the intercom were both ringing on top of my dog Molly barking too. I looked at my phone and it was almost 1 pm.

“Shit!” I stumbled out of bed rubbing sleep off my eyes to see who was at the gate, ignoring Molly, my cell, and the landline.

“Hello, who is it?” I said through the intercom.

“It”s me babe let me in, ” he responded before I opened the gate for him running to the landline that had started ringing for the second time.

“Hello,” the line went silent before someone responded.

“Hi, I have been trying to get a hold of Macy is she available” my heart stopped.

“I’m sorry, Macy passed away two days ago.” I hung up without thinking about how the person on the line would respond or how they knew each other?

“Hey, babe,” I turned around to see Julian holding balloons.

“Happy birthday!”

I gave him a faint smile as he came close to hug me “Hey, thank you. Can you tie the balloons on the chair there.” I pointed at the chair.

“Are you hungry girl, huh? Sorry I made you starve,” I walked to the kitchen to grab Molly’s food before putting it in a bowl for her while she wagged her tail.

When Julian walks over Molly starts barking at him. This always happens when he gets close to me. It reminds me of Macy, she always said I shouldn’t trust him because Molly sees his true colors too. It still felt weird to talk to her in the past tense when I spoke to her a few days ago.

Julian started snapping his fingers as I had drifted off again. “Hmm, sorry, did you say something?” I asked him.

He folded his arms and started talking again.

“I know this is bad timing, but I want us to celebrate your birthday as planned and you made a promise.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish smile.

I knew what he is talking about we have been dating for six months and he has been wanting to have sex. Since I have never done it before he has been asking me to consider which I never promised. In fact, I told him when the time is right, we would do it.

“Maya, are you listening?” He walked over to me looking me in the eyes while rubbing my shoulders with a smile.

I have always hated how he made sexual advances at me, but I will do it when the time was right.

“Babe, you know that I want my first to be special, and when the time is right, you will know” I smile, kissing him. “With Macy’s death, I have a lot on my mind and I need to start making adjustments”

“Okay, I understand, ” he sighed. “Will you still come later so we can celebrate?”

“Yeah, will drop by after I visit mom,” I smiled at him before my phone rang again.

“Let me leave you to it. Oh, and wear a dress, ” he blew a kiss my way before he left, and Molly started barking at him after she had finished her snacking.

“Molly, no,” I said, clapping my hands together.

As Julian left, I rushed to my room to answer a call and it was my friends from school making a video call. After the call ended, I got ready wearing a dress before I went to see mom.

It was 6:15 pm and after having my late lunch with mom, I made my way to Julian’s. I sent him a quick text to open for me and it took him a few minutes to respond and he came running to open for me. He pulled me into a kiss before leading me into his house.

“Are you hungry? I can make sandwiches.”

“No, had a late lunch with mom” I responded.

“Well, in that case, ” he smiled, holding me by the waist.

“Babe, what are you doing?” I asked, pulling away and setting my bag on the couch taking a seat, and taking my shoes off. Those heels were killing me since I wore them earlier.

“We won’t do anything you don’t want to,” he said, reaching for my angles rubbing them.

We had been going at it with the make out like we normally do but he had reached my breast and his hand had moved up inside my dress unclipping my bra without pulling away from the kiss.

“Julian, we need to stop,” I pulled his hands down from me still kissing him.

“Maya, do you know what you are doing to me right now?”

“Babe,” I bit my lip pushing him gently by his shoulder.

“Maya,” he sighed, looking at me, his eyes filled with desire.

“I- I don’t think I’m ready” I gave him half a smile

“Sure,” he nodded with a wink.

“Sure?” I looked at him smiling.

“Just know this is what you do to me,” he took my hand and placed in between his jeans where I could feel a bulge. Before I could respond, he had placed his lips on me again this time kissing me with urgency.
