Taking care of herself
Author: Shin Sungmi"Take care of myself? You are telling a four year to do that? What a joke! I will show you how a four year old takes care of herself!" Seraphine mumbled as she paced around her play room.
Betty and the other maid, Anna, watched their Young Lady with concern in their eyes. Ever since since she has returned, she had been acting strangely; it seemed that the Young Lady was growing worries.
Unaware of the thoughts of the Betty and Anna, Seraphine remembered about the contents of the novel.
Since the novel also had written about 'Seraphine's' childhood, starting from her four year old self, she could recall reading about this situation as well.
Her main concern right now was to avoid meeting that important person. Knowing how the story will unfold, meeting that person will be disastrous— something that can't be avoided later on.
So, that's why, she had to work early on it.
Even if she did not yet believe that this was a reality completely, this did not seem to be a dream either.
The guest was the wife of the Marquess, Venessa Ilyster. At the age of late fifties, Venessa was a strict woman and had a low tolerance when it came to her anger. Moreover, her temper worsened for her family started to decline.
She was chosen to be responsible for Seraphine's education. It was understandable, seeing how Lyle was busy and wouldn't have time to deal with it completely. Moreover, he was not a female.
Before her family started to get worse, she was known for how she perfectly conducted herself, and her children was famed for that as well. Therefore, many families wanted to hire the lady— the royal family included.
It wasn't a shock that Lyle was able to hire her since he was the oldest son of Vougeious family— the family's whose influence came second to the Royal Family.
But this wasn't the part Seraphine had problem with.
After a year of being 'Seraphine's' teacher, Venessa spared no space for a single mistake when it came to Seraphine and punished her severely— even going as far as abuse.
Even Lyle did not go to that extent!
Although Venessa could have been severly punished for her acts, the female lead stayed silent about it, afraid of bringing trouble to her family— a typical masochistic female lead thing.
Seraphine did not think that Lyle was unaware of it; someone as smart as him surely would have been able to notice that. He most likely chose to turn a blind eye to it.
Seeing how she had gotten two scums as brothers, Seraphine could only sigh; this place was filled with enemies.
Now, her thoughts revolved around how to prevent the meeting. Even if Seraphine wanted to reject it, Lyle wouldn't allow it. Moreover, the words of a four year old barely hold any effect.
Although temporary solution, she had to come up with something, and as for the grander, she will think of it later on.
°°°
After putting in much effort, Seraphine was able to escape to outside of the mansion. Tricking the guards and maids took a lot of effort on her part, and she had to do it exactly at the time guards switched their shifts.
Having read the novel, she remained the random detail on the time, and amazed at her memory, she used the secret route the female lead used to escape the mansion.
Of course that route was found by the female lead when she was much older.
She really loved the author for being very much descriptive in her novel. This gave her an advantage of knowing all the important routes in her grand mansion.
Once she was outside, she searched around the heaps of trees while hiding from guards. Her small body gave her quite a lot of advantage.
But the disadvantage to it was there as well. Due to how small her footsteps were, she had to run around in order to be quick enough. Moreover, since she had a lack of stamina, she had to take break every five minutes.
Finally, after all that effort, she finally found the pond and was caught in awe on how beautiful it was. The moon was reflected on it beautifully, and it seemed to sparkle under the moonlight.
Surrounded by beautiful flower and greenery, the fireflies moved around. This just seemed like a scene from a beautiful movie, and she was awestruck at it.
But her time to appreciate it was short. For when she had heard the footsteps behind her, she knew that she had to act.
Although she was able to escape, it was expected for them being on her trail soon, and this was a part of her plans.
The quicker they arrived, the better it was because, even if the sight was mesmerizing, the air was freezing.
Hearing the sounds get closer, Seraphine summoned all the strength within her, and taking a step forward, she jumped into the pond once she spotted the guards from the corner of her eyes.
Judging from their shocked expression, she knew that they recognized her, and as the water drowned her, their rushed footsteps came towards the pond.
Her swimming skills were of barely any use in this body, and as she was slowly losing consciousness, the coldness was making her regret take this decision.
This was terrible!
Soon enough, she could hear the sounds of the guards jumping into the water body, and everything around her started to turn dull at this moment. Feeling relaxed, she closed her eyes and left it to themselves.
Although Seraphine hated hurting herself to get this fulfilled, sometimes one had to give up in order gain bigger accomplishment. Moreover, she will remember it as a funny memory in the future— hopefully.
Before losing her consciousness completely, she could vaguely feel her body being pulled upwards.

Despite of his nagging, he followed her to everywhere and brought everything for her. He even matched his pace with hers despite of mentioning how slow she was.Just thinking about him made her want to let out a chuckle. His opinion in her mind improved slightly, and compared to Lyle, she found him to be a lot comfortable to be with. She had to admit that there was a certain amount of fun when it came to teasing him.As for the concerns in her mind regarding Glenn, she decided to leave it aside. At this age, Glenn did not do anything dangerous to him, and knowing how the novel went, Clayton would be able to solve them.Even if it made her displeased that Clayton was friends with him, she had an idea about how her words would not have an affect without evidence, and moreover, she was merely a child. Therefore, seeing how it wasn't that urgent, she kept it for later on.Now, her curre
Help! I don't want to be the female lead The trip
Seraphine stared at Clayton's back. He held her hands as they walked upon the streets, and although he occasionally ordered her to speed up, at the end, he maintained his pace with hers.Because of doing at least this much, she decided to stay silent and not retort to all those ridiculous insults of his."Where do you want to go?" he questioned.Seraphine wanted to do much more things than just pick up the supplies, and although she was sad that the one accompanying her was Clayton, she had to make do with the situation."I am hungry," she responded. She wasn't exactly hungry, but it was that she wanted to try eating out. This was the first time she was getting the chance to do so after transmigrating to here."You," he impatiently expressed, "Didn't you eat enough at home?"After that, he turned his head back to stare at her, and she merely blinked her eyes at him.
Help! I don't want to be the female lead Agreed to it
This was the first time Seraphine felt giddy after meeting up with Lyle, and he even agreed to grant that one wish of hers. With a cheerful mood, Seraphine was about to enjoy the snacks she had left behind when Betty spoke out, "Lady Seraphine, is there anyone you would prefer to invite for your birthday?"Seraphine raised her head to look at Betty and fell into a deep thought. Although there were couple of characters in the novel she would like to get acquainted with, she did not whether or not it would be appropriate to invite them.On top of all that, Seraphine in the novel did not have any close friends. So, it would not be strange for her to have no one to invite."You decide on the list, Betty, and I will write the letter inviting Kayden and Sharon. Lyle agreed," Seraphine expressed with a wide smile.Betty nodded her head."Betty, can I go outside? I want to buy supplies to d
Help! I don't want to be the female lead Mannerless
The shocked face of Betty's did not come as a surprise to her since she felt the same about letting out those feelings of her as well. This did imply a lot of things, and one of them showed that she cared— which was most definitely not the case. This was merely because she was aggravated as a reader; at least that's how she tried to convince herself.Nonetheless, she did not want to talk about this matter to Betty further for a feeling within in her insisted that she will be regretting that. Therefore, she simply closed the book before and picked up a cookie from the plate before making her way over to the door.Even though Betty tried to bring the matter up, she merely smiled at the lady, showing her intent on how she had no desire to push further on it.Betty seemed to have probably gotten the idea of what she wanted for Betty only sighed and followed her to where her brothe
Help! I don't want to be the female lead Woke up
Seraphine really suffered from a shock early in the morning. Not only did she wake up in between of her parents, she even had breakfast with them. Although her father barely said anything to her, just recalling about him patting her head was enough to render her speechless. She really did not know how to respond to that. As for her mother, she tried to make conversation with and show her care for Seraphine, but Seraphine was not able to bring herself to accept that. She kept things to the minimum as much as possible. Seraphine would prefer it better if her parents had neglected her completely, but no matter how blunt that was, she would not be able to let something harsh as that out. By the time it was afternoon, Seraphine was going through some books in order to learn more of this world. Due to her age, the amount of book she
Help! I don't want to be the female lead Grown up
"It has been a long time since I have last seen you," she commented, "You have grown quite a lot."Even though Seraphine in the novel liked to visit Sophia's place for the sake of Eli, Seraphine had no whatsoever desire to do so. Bringing trouble to herself was the last thing she opted for currently.Seraphine merely smiled at it.Fortunately enough, before Sophia was able to say something else and put her in a difficult position, her mother appeared. It has been a while since she had properly seen her mother. It wasn't as if her mother did not want to meet her; it was just that Seraphine avoided being in her presence as much as possible. The matter wasn't that she held hate for her mother like she did not her brothers, but it was just that she did not want to grow attached to the woman. Her mother's eyes widened when her gaze fell on her, and she voiced out, "Seraphine, what are yo

In such an era, murdering wasn't considered to be a big deal unless or until there was a justifiable reason behind it. Even though the matter was exposed to the public, the Royal family did not condemn Kayden Clementis— probably because of how they still needed the help
