Nicholai was currently at the restaurant, waiting for Delilah. He had been here for a good 30 minutes, and she hadn't arrived.
He sighed, he was about to call her, when he heard her voice.
"Doesn't feel good does it?" He turned around, she was in a black pantsuit, her hair was down.
She took a seat. "No, it doesn't, I thought you said you were ok that I came late, last time." She smiles.
"Good, that's what I was aiming for and I didn't mind, but Dream convinced me to give you a taste of your own medicine. But I think it was just for her own personal gain, where's the waiter?"
"She made me wait for 30 minutes just to get payback? Sounds like my sister." She laughs.
"It's petty, but you deserved it, don't you think."
"I did, I'm sorry again."
"Don't apologise, let's change the topic." He smiles, nodding.
"Tell me about your job." He said.
"So today at work..." He smiled as he watched her talk about her job. He loved the little shine in her eyes as she spoke about her day.
After a few minutes of her talking, she stopped. "I'm boring you, aren't I?" He shook his head.
"No, I'm actually enjoying this story, but why did Victoria say that she was obviously in the wrong." Delilah nods agreeing.
"Right! That's what I've been saying, Mikayla thought she was right."
"I think I just lost a little respect for Mikayla." Delilah laughed, he joined.
"Are you two ready to order?" He looks at Delilah she nods.
"Yes, I'll have whatever she's having."
"In that case, we'll take, the curry chicken with rice, extra gravy and your finest glass of white wine."
"Sorry, we don't have-" Nicholai slipped her a 100 dollar bill.
"Of course you do." He told her. The waiter nods, walking off, Delilah smiled.
"I thought you didn't drink."
"I don't but today's a special occasion."
"I'm glad you, think talking to me is special." She rolled her eyes, smiles softly.
"Don't ruin it." He laughs.
"Continue, your story." and she did.
They talked throughout dinner, once they had finished eating, they stayed at their table for a few minutes before leaving, Delilah had taken a meal to go.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" Nicholai asked opening the car. She nods, going inside he went after her.
"I did."
"Maybe we can make this a regular thing?" He asked she bit her lip, his hand itched to pull them apart.
"Maybe." Nicholai smiled leaning back in his seat.
Carlos drove her home. Before she got out she gave Carlos the food. "Here."
"Boss?" Delilah rolled her eyes.
"You don't have to ask him, take it." He still looked at Nicholai, he gave him a small nod.
Carlos took the food. "Thank you, Ms Crown."
"Call me Delilah." He looked back at Nicholai, he gave him a nod, Delilah rolled her eyes.
"Thank you, Delilah."
"Welcome, will I see you tomorrow?" She asked Nicholai.
"We'll see." She smiled closing the door, he opened his door, stepping out of the car, following her to her apartment door.
"Carlos will drop you off at work tomorrow."
"Ok." He raised his eyebrow, expecting more of a fight.
"Ok? You're not going to protest?"
"Fighting with you is hopeless." He chuckles.
"Someone's learning." She laughs softly.
"Good night, Nicholai."
"Good night, Delilah." She went inside closing the door behind her.
He smiled to himself, before walking back to the car. "Carlos you get the night off, send someone is to watch over her." Carlos nods, driving off.
