[8] Little girls Ezma

After finishing eating, Maze and Ryan started moving out of the shopping mall. But suddenly a crying girl drew Maze's attention and without informing Ryan she walked towards the girl.

A man was pulling her hand and trying to take her somewhere which didn't seem right to Maze. She hastened her speed and grabbed the other hand of that little girl.

The man that was dragging the little girl's hand seemed pissed by Maze's sudden action and out of fret, he pushed Maze to the ground. He hurriedly picked up the little girl and started to run. This movement deepened her suspicion over that man. She too started to run after that man.

people were staring at them curiously instead of helping them out.

Ryan suddenly noticed Maze was not beside him anymore.

"Shit ! I should've kept eyes on her" He started to curse himself.

Then when he noticed the commotion that was going on in the basement of the mall. He shifted a bit towards the crowd and his eyes went wide open at what was happening there.

Maze was running after a man who had a little girl in his lap. It seemed they were playing 'cop and thief' game where Maze was playing the role of a cop.

He sighed and mumbled under his breath and rushed to stop Maze from disturbing others.

Maze was almost running out of her breath, that man was way to faster than her imagination. Abruptly a thought crossed her mind and she threw a trash can aiming that man's leg.

And it worked, that man's speed became stagnant as his foot got stuck in the trash can and he fell flat to the ground. The baby slipped out of his arms and fell away.

Maze got startled and before she could understand a loud scream left her mouth along with a few more outcries from everyone around her. She closed her eyes in fear and when no more screams came to her ears, she opened her eyes, and the corner of her lips curved up forming a smile at what she saw.

Ryan was standing there holding the baby girl in her hand. She rushed towards him and tried to check out if the girl was fine or not. That man got hurt and his head was bleeding. He started to groan in pain.

When she was assured that the girl was fine she turned towards the man wishing to beat the shit out of him.

Meanwhile, mall security captured the man.

Maze and Ryan was asked to co-operate by the security as they both were under suspicion too. Ryan and Maze nodded and agreed to collaborate with them.

At the security section Maze and Ryan were sitting with the girl in her lap. She was too small around five to six years old. She had Platinum blond hair and light grey eyes. Maze was too fascinated by this little girl's charm.

"What is your name baby?"

That little girl started at Maze with her grey eyes that got reddened due to crying over a long time. She blinked her eyes twice and replied with a soft smile, " Aazma (Ezma)"

Ryan tried to hold back his laugh seeing the little kid making mistake in pronouncing her own name. Maze elbowed him gesturing him to stop.

Maze wasn't much wounded as that man couldn't harm her much. The doctor just released her prescribing a few painkillers and antibiotics.

Meanwhile, that child's parents were contacted to come and take their child.

That child was the daughter of the CEO of a pharmaceutical company and that kidnapper was trying to abduct her just to take revenge from her father. But because of Maze and Ryan, all his plans went in vein

"Why did you run after the man?" a man with a baritone voice asked Maze.

She stared at the security-head and then the police inspector beside him, "The way he was pulling her seemed dubious to me. And my suspicion intensified once he pushed instead of asking me why I was stopping his child. Or perhaps "what is wrong with you?" might be a good escape for him. But he chose to push me instead of acting as his guardian."

The security head gave her a mild smile hearing her straight-forward answer and he shifted his gaze towards Ryan asking him to explain his part of the action.

Ryan nodded and began talking, "When I couldn't find her, I started to search for her. Then when a tumult attracted my attention. And as I moved towards it, or I might say luck by chance, I appeared there and was able to save her"

"Hummm... Because of you two today we were able to apprehend the leader of the group of child trafficking groups. Thank you both very much. And for that, the government will surely reward you" The  Police Inspector said in a heavy and professional tone. The security head seemed pleased with them.

"Not only government, we too want to repay you for saving our child," That girl's mother said.

'Yeah, she is right. you guys should get the reward for your bravery" That child's father said in a happy tone.

"No please, we didn't do anything to get any prizes. Please do not humiliate us by rewarding our efforts" Maze stated politely.

Ryan nodded to support Maze. In his mind, he fell more deeply in love with her.

He was already lost in his thoughts regarding Maze and he being together but dragged out to reality by Maze's hard pinch.

"Ouch" He squinted his eyes at Maze rubbing his sore arm where he was just brutally pinched by Maze.

Everyone got a bit startled by his sudden screech and asked him what happened.

Maze gave him a pretentious smile stating him to concentrate as they were about to take leave from there, "Nothing, Leave him".

The kidnapper was brought before the kid's parents and Maze for confirmation. That girl's parents affirmed saying they had a clash going on regarding some business issues. He refused to collaborate with that man as he does illegal business, and that's why he tried to abduct Ezma intending to force her father to agree on his term.

That kidnapper screamed and started cursing Maze as soon as he saw her there since she was the one who violated his plan. But he got quit receiving a few hitting from the security officer.

Ryan grabbed her hand to encourage her. She turned to him and gave him a dry smile.

"We would suggest you to stay a bit cautious or perhaps we might arrange twenty-four-hour police protection....."

Before the police inspector can finish his word Maze jump in between and cut him off "No..no..no.. Please, I will be fine.."

"Are you sure?" The Security-head asked arching his brows.

"Yes, I am sure" Ryan tried to say something but was stopped by Maze. Before Ryan or any of them may force her to accept the police protection she urged to take leave, "I think we might need to leave now"

"Okay, stay safe," the Security-head said with a smile.

Maze smiled and bowed to them. They smiled back as a medium of being respectful and bowed to Maze and Ryan. Maze hugged that little girl Ezma.

That little girl hugged both Maze and Ryan and kiss their cheek.

With a smile and after exchanging a few considerate words, they took leave from each other.

The mess got Ryan a bit more worried about leaving Maze alone, what if she brags more trouble like this for her. Though her intension wasn't bad but it could be lethal for her.

After getting assurance from Maze that she would stay out of trouble and would be safe, Ryan let a sigh of relief and agreed to go.

Yet it seems off to Ryan as if something severe was about to happen. His inner raw feelings were asking him not to leave, but the situation was not in his favor and he really had to go. With a heavy heart, he chose to ignore his feelings and decided to go.
