Sibling Trouble

She felt beautiful to hold, her soft, plump curves fitted against his hard muscles, and he gently rubbed her back, trying to soothe the upset away.

"Now let's try again, who was on the phone?"

Millie gulped, she would have to tell them who it was at least. She would just say they had argued.

"It.." she hitched breath, "it was my sisters, my twin sisters."

Nick put his hands on her shoulders and held her away from him so that he could see her face. "Your twin sisters? They frighten you that much?"

"Nick" Gabriel shook his head. "Come and sit down, love."

Nick grabbed a couple of beers from the fridge "would you like a drink Amelia?"

She shook her head "no, thank you."

"So you have twin sisters, are they older than you?" Gabriel asked, knocking the top off his beer.

"They are three years older than me they're twenty-six."

"Do they look like you?" Nick asked.

Millie gave a bitter laugh, "No, not at all, they are tall, elegant, very slim, beautiful" she said wistfully.

"Hmm, I suppose that depends on your point of view, beauty is in the eye of...whatever. What do they do?"

"They're models." She said quietly

Nick slowly nodded his head, his interaction with models had been short-lived, he had never found one that he got on well with for more than about ten minutes. He knew they couldn't all be the same, but as far as he was concerned, the ones he had met were a set of selfish individuals and far too up themselves generally. Especially the one he knew best, his friend Jasper's girlfriend Georgie. She was such bitch!"

"So why have they upset you?"

Millie looked across at Gabriel, "Oh, we just had a bit of a row."

Gabriel raised his brow "that must have been some row, I'm not sure I ever scared my sister that much."

"What are their names?" Nick asked fiddling about with his phone.

"Pearl and Ruby Ashton."

Nick nodded, still looking at his phone. "Hey I won a grand, that horse came in!" He switched from his bookmakers to Twitter and searched for Pearl and Ruby Ashton.

Millie was starring hard at the tabletop.

"So what did you row about?" Gabriel said cocking his head so he could see her face.

"Something stupid, it doesn't matter." She mumbled.

Nick read the latest tweet from Pearl Ashton. "Oh, lucky us!" He murmured, he passed the phone to Gabriel

" Meeting two of the most glorious men in the world on Friday!"

Pearl had used a picture of them both from the last show they had done. Gabriel put the phone on the table in front of her.

"It looks like your sisters can't wait to meet us, Amelia."

Millie felt like being thrown off a tall building would be less traumatic than when she saw the Tweet that Pearl had uploaded. Covering her face with her hands, the tears squeezing through her fingers.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry, I didn't tell them that you would see them, I didn't. I really didn't!" The tears slid down her face, and she quickly brushed them away.

Gabriel pushed Nicks phone away and reached over to Millie.

"Shh, don't cry, we know you didn't tell her, it's okay." Gabriel wiped the tears, still running down her face.

"I..I..I'm sorry sh..she always tries to ruin things, always wants things that other people have?"

Nick passed her tissues and went to get her glass of water. They both pulled their chairs up closer to hers. Gabriel put his arm around her, and Nick took hold of both her hands in his.

Gabriel let Nick lead the conversation.

"Amelia, shush now, that's enough, stop crying now. We know you didn't tell Pearl and Ruby they could come here, we know." Nick took a tissue and wiped the tears from her face. "Take a breath, Amelia."

Millie shuddered a breath in, she was so embarrassed by all this, and her tears were more of anger than for pity. She could feel Gabriel's hand rubbing soothing circles on her back.

They waited for a few minutes until the tears had stopped, and Amelia was calm.

"You know we meet people like your sisters all the time, there are always women trying to get us out on dates or trying to work their way into our inner circle." Nick stroked the back of her hands.

"I assume they think they've got an easy way in with you being here." Gabriel stroked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Unfortunately it doesn't work like that," he smirked.

Millie looked up at Gabriel "what do you mean?"

Gabriel winked at her "don't you worry sweetheart, leave it all up to us, everything will be fine."

Millie gulped, these two didn't know who they were playing with, if the meeting didn't happen or even go to Pearl and Ruby's satisfaction on Friday, she might as well just hand herself in to the police station.

"I'm getting hungry, are you still up for cooking dinner or shall we get a take out?" Nick asked, feeling his stomach growl.

Millie took a deep breath and stood up, "no, I can cook, I prepared meatballs with chilli and vodka sauce and pasta."

"Sounds wonderful, I'm going to get changed," Gabriel said as he stood up and stretched. "Are you going to phone Claire?"

"Yes, I'll do it now before she goes home."

Gabriel cast a glance at Amelia at the other end of the kitchen and lowered his head to Nick, "Be nice."

"I'm always nice" Nick turned his head to him and pecked a kiss on his chin. "But I do like living dangerously." He said with a stunning smile.

"Behave, phone Claire."

"Yes, master."

"You really wanna go there?" Gabriel snapped.

For a moment, they stared into each other's eyes, and eventually, Nick lowered his gaze and Gabriel went back up the kitchen stairs.

Millie busied herself at the other end of the kitchen, she stirred the sauce and watched for the pasta boiling. She had no clue if this was going to work out or not, she resigned herself for it to not work out at all. Nick and Gabriel couldn't be coping with her tantrums about her sisters forever and a day, and that is what would happen if she stayed here. She would give it until the end of the week and then leave.

She would do her best in the time she had left, cook the fabulous meals they wanted and freeze everything, at least then they would have proper food to eat for a while when she had gone. She would make sure that everything was perfect for them. She would leave notes on how to do everything. She sighed in relief now that she had made a decision.

Maybe she would leave London, go to Cambridge or even further up north, she knew her sisters would never travel to such an unfashionable place. In fact, that would be ideal because then she would be free of the twins forever. The only sad thing would be that she would only see these two beautiful men in magazines or on television. She blinked her eyes rapidly to dissipate the tears that were forming and concentrated on stirring the sauce.
