CHAPTER IV

Lyka's P.O.V

The eyes on me are freaking me out but I think I am good at hiding it. "Everything Lyka," Mr. Harry replies. "I don't even know why am here. These people you are talking about." Right now I want to smack myself hard. I was told by Keith that I have a blubber mouth and now I am proofing the theory. "Will you tell her already so we can get this over with?" Marco nudged impatiently as ever. I mean I have noticed that he's grumpy and impatient whereas Ethel is precise. "I agree with Marco. The sooner the better." Ethel adds. I want to know what is going on. What is there to tell me that I see is taking Harry to make second thoughts. I am scared now if I am to say. Whatever this bombshell is, it might hit me harder. "Lyka, Olivia is not your real mother."

Did I get that straight? The woman I have known my entire life is not my mother. This is got to be some sick joke. As if on cue I laugh but I stop as soon as I start when no one fellows me but instead watch me like I have fuckin lost my mind. My mom is quiet. The room is dead silent. "Mom.." I know my voice is on the edge but there is no way Harry is right. My mom zeros her hazel eyes with mine. "Mom, tell me that is not true. I am your daughter. Tell them mom..." I know my voice is gruff but I don't care. I want to prove these idiots wrong. "It's true dear. I am not your true mother." she speaks slowly but steadily her eyes teary. I swear I lose it this very minute. My heart sets ablaze. My mom is not my mom. I can't believe it. I won't believe it. "That is not true." I immediately rise up from my seat scowling at them.

"Calm down Lyka. I know it is not easy..." I halt my mom. "Don't..I don't believe you people. What have you done to my mom? If you are not my mom, then who is it?" I don't care that I am yelling. I am sure these people did something to my mom. "Your real mother is the alpha of this pack. Evanna Whitrow is your real mother and she is dead." Alpha. Pack. Evanna Whitrow. Dead. I can't believe all this shit. "My mom is not dead, she's alive." I argue staring at my mom who at this moment is at the brink of tears.

"Please mom, say something." I plead to my mom who is watching me pitifully. "It's okay Lyka. It's true, everything they are saying is true." I feel my heart tatter in my chest. I stop breathing. I am suffocating now with each word. Instead I fall back into the couch when I lose my balance. "Honey," I hear my mom call. "How is this possible?" I ask when I breathe again. I need answers, I am fuckin confused right now. "Evanna did this to save you Lyka. You have enemies, we have enemies, they want to destroy you. What happened to the party was just a beginning. She had to give you to Olivia so that no one would hurt you." Mr. Harry elaborated. Marco and Ethel are just watching the scene. I think they are enjoying my freak show but right now, am not in the state to care. I was lied to. I am not who I thought I was.

People are trying to kill me. What did I do wrong? I have never wronged anyone. Why would anyone want to kill me? This is madness and I can't believe it. "What are you people?" I frowned angrily. "We are werewolves sweetie." Ethel replied in an obvious voice. Werewolf! This is the madness. They don't exist in real life. That is a lie. "Do you need to be that blunt Ethel?" Marco asked. "She would get to know eventually. I am making it quicker." Ethel rolled her eyes.

"Excuse me," I ran out from the room as fast as my legs could take me. I didn't care where I went but I wanted to be as far away as possible from these people. I heard my mom's voice call me but I ran for the door as soon as I spotted a large mahogany door with engravings and a head of a werewolf. Werewolf I can't get the word out of my head. I am no monster. My mind is just playing tricks with me. I run in the compound as I hear people call my name. I fight against the pair of arms that try to stop me. Their voices are distant. I can't make out their words. I instead use my judo skills to get faraway. The resistance doubles and I can't fight anymore. They are too strong for me to fight.

It is a waste of time and energy if i did so. I hear a sting on my left arm. I saw him pulling the needle out. I lose my balance and power. I have been sedated. I hear my mom yell but I can't make out what she is saying. I am then enveloped with darkness. I don't know how many hours I lay unconscious but when I wake up I am sure I am back in the room I was in when I first woke up. Werewolf The word keeps imitating me and I can't even control it. I gulp down the water in the glass and sigh. My whole life has been full of lies. Great. Just great. The door opens and the person I knew as my mom entered.

"I am glad you are awake." she says coolly. "I bet you are." I reply coldly. "That's no way to speak to me Lyka. I am your mother." she scolds. "I am wondering if I should call you mom or Olivia." I know am being a bitch but you can't blame me. My mom hurt my feelings. "Lyka, I am still your mom even though.." "Stop with the act, will you? When were you planning to tell me? It doesn't matter to you that toy have been lying to me." I snarl. Every time I think of the lies I have been living, I get more angry. "I did it to protect you." she muses. "Don't tell me that shit now. It fuckin hurts. That's how selfish you are." "Lyka," a voice stops me. Mr. Harry or Gabriel, I even don't know if Lyka is even my real name. Everything about me seems to be a lie.

"And you, you knew this this whole time. What were you doing at that college?" I accused him. "I was there to protect you Lyka. I had to do what i got to do." he replied. I can't believe the guy I adored so much is also part of a lie of a life this has been. It explains why he was at the party when those people attacked me and Julian. "Julian.. Where is he?" I ask hoarsely. "He's dead Lyka. Those men killed him." A fuckin arrow to my heart. I hated Julian but no day did I wish him to die. He was dead. I can't breathe. If am not careful, am likely to develop a respiratory disease because all the news I receive are suffocating. Before I fall, I feel the pair of strong arms catch me. I have no doubt it's Harry. I need to be alone. I want to be alone. I need to think.

"Are you alright honey?" "Get out!" I order immediately I gain my senses. "Get out now before I lose mind. I don't want to see your faces ever." I snapped cruelly. Mr. Harry walks my mom out who hesitates. I want to be alone right now. As soon as the door is closed, I fell back on the bed and wail. Karma is a real bitch. I don't know how many hours I spend in the room but I don't want to see their faces, I don't want to see the lies I have been living. I am hurting a lot. Julian is dead and this is all because of me. The maid brought me lunch and dinner but I can't even eat. I don't have appetite to eat. No one had tried to come talk to me and am thankful for that. I am not in my true senses. I wish I could turn back time. I wish this was a dream but I am afraid that this is my reality now.
