CHAPTER THREE
Author: adesewa_xI opened the letter.
But what if it holds someone's personal information or secret? Wouldn't that be invasion of privacy?
It's not like you went to someone else's bag to take it, it's in your biology textbook. It's totally yours.
I turned to the first page to be sure I didn't take someone else's book by mistake. Temiloluwa's copy was clearly visible in my bold writing.
So it was mine...
Yes now can we get to the contents of the envelope already?
Rolling my eyes at my subconscious, I neatly tore open the envelope to reveal a folded foolscap sheet. I hastily unfolded it as the time for short break would soon be over and I wouldn't survive it if I didn't eat before it ended.
Yes. I love food, I know.
I diverted my attention to the open note in front of me.The salutation of the note almost gave me a heart attack.
Dear Temiloluwa,
So it was for me...
My eyes quickly skimmed through the rest of the letter's content.
Dear Temiloluwa,
I know this is the first day and all and I'm not meant to disturb you but I can't just NOT write this letter. I know you will continue to ignore me like always but I won't stop writing trust me.
'you are beautiful'.
To me, there are different ways people compliment. Some mean it as a joke, some just say it for sure but believe me I'm being sincere.
Ever since you walked into this school and I sighted you I knew it was love at first sight. I would just go ahead to tell you who I am but where's the fun in that?
But I'm promising you something.
Soon you will know who I am.
And you will be mine.
And I'll never let you go.
I love you(yes I know it's a strong word but I'm absolutely sure of it)
Yours sincerly,
love anonymous.
p.s : your sport wear shots is too short I would love if you wore the tracksuit...
I blinked once. Then twice, then again and again and again in shock.
Someone wrote me a love letter?
Someone just frigging sent me a love letter on the first day of resumption?!
Why did I suddenly feel like fainting?
"Awwwnn. That's so sweet."
That didn't sound like one of those voices my subconscious talked with.
My head snapped around so fast, that I thought it would snap. My eyes narrowed dangerously when I discovered who the intruder was. I folded the letter immediately.
"What are you hiding? I've seen everything that there is to see," he shrugged nonchalantly. I stood up in anger and whirled around to face him.
"You don't have sense. You're such a jerk! How can you be poking your crooked nose into matters that doesn't concern you? Is it your letter?!"
It wasn't that I was really upset about him reading my letter, he had enough brain cells to know that he couldn't tell on me to the teachers. I was angry because... because...
Because what?
I was infuriated because... because of the shit eating grin on his face! It made me want to stare all day. No! No! I mean it made me want to slap him all day. Slap! Not stare!
Yeah. Right!
I groaned and face palmed myself in frustration.
What in hell was happening to me?!!!
"Hey Missy. I'm talking to you. Pay attention!"
Oh. Mr. Jerk face is even still around.
"What do you want from me Timi?" I grumbled with a deep frown. I still wasn't sure why he kept smiling like a cat that was fed with too much cream.
"You."
"What?! What did you say?"
"I said I'm here to give you your punishment."
"Oh." Why did I sound disappointed?
"You came late this morning, remember? And I forgot to give you your punishment so—"
"Get to the point Timi."
"I was about to when you interrupted me."
"Then get on with it already, short break is almost over!"
"Do you even know anything apart from food?"
"Don't push me Timi. Give me my punishment or get lost!"
"Well, we'll see who will be getting lost when you're done clearing half the school's garden after school hours."
"Timi you wouldn't dare!"
"Watch me baby."
I didn't know what he was going to do when he started walking closer. My heart rate increased when he suddenly pushed me into the wall and pressed onto me.
My breath hitched and my face warmed up. I wasn't comfortable under his intense gaze at all.
When one of his hands left the wall beside my head and made to touch my face, I closed my eyes tightly, anticipating the moment his hand would connect with my skin and numb my brain. I waited and waited but that didn't happen. His hand didn't touch my face.
I cracked one eye open and then the other with caution. Timi was still there, but his hand was over to his side in a manner that informed me that he had only intended to check the bogus golden wristwatch on his hand.
Oh.
My stupid reaction wasn't missed by him, his smug expression and stupid grin that showed of his equally stupid dimples, that was on full display was a pointer to that. I felt so embarrassed.
"If they born you well, don't wait behind after school you hear?" And with that he was striding away with an annoying, knowing look, leaving me all flustered and tongue tied and mad with fury.
Good riddance! At least I could now breath without his stench polluting the entire area in the environment.
You mean that cologne that affects your senses in more than one way?
"Shut up!" I groaned audibly, pinching my glabella in frustration.
Sometimes I just wished those voices were visible enough to be given a tight slap or hit on the forehead.
I was still confused as to why he pinned me to a wall for that long just to show his wristwatch.
