6. History Repeats

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I yelled to let my presence known.

"Hey sweetheart, how was school?" my mom Lily asked.

Everyone tells me I look exactly like my mother. But I disagree. I think she is way more beautiful than I am. She was also a complete sweetheart. Which was one of the biggest reasons why my dad fell in love with her in the first place.

"School was okay. I met a guy I think," I smiled.

"WHAT GUY!" my dad Jacob yelled from the other room. Great...here comes the lecture about how no guy is good enough for his little girl.

"Hi dad," I rolled my eyes.

"Who would dare look at you? I thought we discussed this. No guys until you are in college," my dad said.

"No dad, there was no discussion. You just said I can't date and I never agreed to it. Besides, I dated other guys before," I said.

"You did? I must've blocked it out of my memory," Jacob scowled.

"Oh, just leave her alone. I'm sure this guy is perfectly nice. Who is he?" my mom asked and looked at me curiously.

"His name is Anthony, we are planning on going to the fall festival together," I said excitedly.

"Ah, the fall festival. That's where me and your mom had our first..." dad started to say.

"JACOB!" mom glared at him before he could finish.

"Candy Apple! We had our first candy apple together!" dad said quickly.

"ohhkaay....well anyways...I asked him to go with me. He is really nice. Not like the jerks I've dated before," I said.

"You know, your dad was a real jerk when I first met him. I caught him bullying your uncle Ryan," mom said.

"Really?" I was intrigued.

"Mhm...then he had this unhealthy crush on me and he forced me to go on a date with him!" mom exclaimed.

"I apologized for it," dad muttered.

"Whoa...how did you fall in love?" I asked.

"It's a long story but it turned out all of that macho man attitudes were just an act. He was actually a big teddy bear underneath," mom laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Whatever, I was a tough dude in high school. The only reason I was nice to your mom because she was a total fox," dad smirked and kissed her. "Still is."

"Eew can you not do that in front of me?" I made a face even though I loved to see how much in love they were with each other. It's was nauseatingly sweet.

I went back to my room. I needed to pick out a cute dress to wear at the festival.

My phone dinged all of a sudden. A text.

What's up gorgeous? How about you help a brotha out again? The unknown number said.

I'm sorry, who is this? I typed.

It's your boy, Anthony. Oh, I'm sorry I meant Tony. Don't want to be confused with your loverboy Anthony T, the text read.

What? How did you get my number? I typed furiously.

My cousin Nell knows this dude who knows your friend Sarah. She spilled the beans 😁, he texted.

Goddammit, Sarah.

What do you want? I asked.

I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend again, he said.

What! No way, I replied.

You are doing it or bad things will happen to your precious Anthony. Coming to pick you up in half an hour. Chow Bella! 😘, was his response.

This bastard! He threatened me.

Wait....this seems familiar. Didn't mom say that's how she began dating my dad? And now the same thing is happening to me!
