[ Chapter 12: End of first ]

A girl stood beside the circular table. It was Gu. She stood up as soon as she finished her food.

: Come on, the next subject will start.

Gu said to them.

Then the five girls walked away with a happy mood.  When they reached the classroom, Leah who found someone felt relieved.

Then Leah walked in. She sat at her seat and looked at the guy. Jin was asleep. She really didn't know why Jin always sleeps and never talk to anyone.

: Why is he?

Leah muttered.

Then the other girls also walked in and sat at their own seat.

The students also appeared. Each of them who walked in sat. They haven't talk or anything else.

The room went silent because there stood the most hated professor.

[Jean Jackobo]

Age: 56

Height: 5'9

Eyes: Brown

Hair: White

It was their professor in intermediate math, Prof. Jean Jackobo.

[Intermediate Math is the upgraded version of Elementary Math. Elementary math is their subject when they were in second grade. However, Intermediate Math is also basic math. It covers algebra, functions and more.]

Prof. Jean Jackobo is not just a professor but a doctor and a master's degree. He who wore a calm look and a poker face. But that face can kill. He is known as the "Terror" among teachers in their department. He is called like that because he CAN'T help himself but give students a failing grade.

[The grading system of [NISU] is different. A 5-point scale, from the lowest to highest -- 0.00 to 5.00. It wasn't 90 or 85, not A-E,  not like in Elementary School or Secondary School. In short, it was different from Kto12 grading system.]

[K to 12 means, Kindergarten to Grade 12, from elementary to secondary.]

[Tertiary education means, college level.]

[NISU] grading scale]

[ 0.0 = 100 ]

[ 1.0 = 95 ]

[ 1.5 = 90 ]

[ 2.0 = 85 ]

[ 2.5 = 80 ]

[ 3.00 = 75 ]

[ 5.00 = 65 ]

[ 0.0 grade stands as the highest grade and 3.00 stands as the passing grade while 5.0 stands as the failing grade.]

Then the time ticks. Students listened and noted their professor lectures. A very different life of what Leah experienced. This subject is killing her.

*Ting*

Luckily the bell rang again. It means it was already done. The subject was done.

: Class dismissed!

Their professor dismissed the class.

: Intermediate math is very hard!

Leah muttered. She wracked her brain to find the X and Y. Yet she couldn't find it.

: Why are those numbers dancing! What am I, not talented?

Leah asked herself in despair. Then she looked at someone who is in the front row. It was Gu. She is still writing some notes.

: If Gu sat beside me then...

Leah said and pause her words halfway.

: Maybe I can do well?

Leah asked herself. Then looked at Nami to calm herself.

But Nami looked at her with disgrace.

: You!

Nami grinned at her. However, Leah is not responding to her.

: What did you say?!!

Nami asked her. It was not that loud but ear piercing.

: Umm... Nothing.

Leah replied back to her. Her mood calmed down.

: You!! You opposed me to sit here! Am I right, Leah?"

Nami said and asked her. It was very fierce and it matches with her slanting eyebrows.

: Uh! I didn't mean that Nami. I mean... if you just know how to find them if it is rational or not and the ordered pair then, then maybe we finished the question on time?

Leah rebutted and just asked her. She looked at her while explaining.

But that words crushed Nami's heart.

: Humph! That also meant I'm useless here! I'm done with you, Leah!

Nami said. Then she stood up and walked away.

: Don't!

Leah called her and ran after her. Then Leah caught her.

: Where are you going?

Leah said. However, Nami looked at her with irritation.

: Don't cling at me! I'm going to CR!

Nami shouted but the class heard her.

: Umm...

Nami did not know what to say! She shouted that part loudly. She blushed and looked at Leah.

: This is your fault, Leah!

Nami thought and pushed her away.

: No!

Leah called her. But Nami ran away from her.

Leah dramatically lied on the floor yet that only worsen her social points.

Her classmates are laughing at her.

*Chatter*

*Chatter*

The class gossips about her.

: Sigh, Leah Su. What a beauty but another stupid! Idiot! AHA HAHA!

One of the girls in the front row said. She is not that beautiful nor ugly. That girl just mocked Leah.

: Jenny!

Leah called her name.

[Jenny Sung]

Age: 20

Height: 5'6

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Blonde

Jenny is a blonde-haired girl with a bunny headband on her head. This girl Jenny bore a deep resentment to Leah. She always mocked her. Throw something at her or even framed her from something Leah didn't do. Jenny doesn't like her.

But Leah didn't know why Jenny hates her so much.

: Don't call me by my name! You are stupid! You are ****!

Jenny trashed talked to her.

: Hahaha!

The students who heard that laughed at Leah.

Leah just heard those ear-piercing ugly compliments and the laughing squad.

: You!

Leah boiled in anger. That compliment strikes her the most.

Then Leah stood up. She wanted to fight that girl. However, Ji and Gu ran at her.

: Stop it, Leah! Don't fight them.

Gu said. She doesn't want Lia to go amok. And also Jenny has a group of friends who hang out with her.

: Don't stop me Gu! I will kill her!

Leah said. She refused to believe.

: Of course, Ji will help me.

Leah thought and looked at her enemy.

But Ji didn't move. Gu stopped her too. Ji wanted to help Leah but it wasn't a good idea.

: Gu! Ji!

Leah called their names. But Gu and Ji just looked at her.

: Leah! Let's go.

Gu said. She pulled her away. She didn't want Leah to become a laughingstock. Of course, her social points will really drop again.

: A beauty but another idiot?

Gu recalled those words from the woman who ridiculed her best friend.

Upon reaching her seat, Leah grinned.

: What is wrong with you girls! You stopped me!

Leah said.

: Don't trick me, Lia.

Gu said and looked at her straightly.

Leah just saw her serious face. She didn't want to see that face.

: I'm sorry. It was too awkward if I didn't fight back, right? They will think that I am a loser.

Leah explained.

: You are a loser long ago, remember?

Gu corrected her. It wasn't a mock but a truth. Leah knew it was a sermon again.

Then Gu continued to talk.

: Leah, we are college now okay? We're already in third year, right? We don't have to fight as always. We need to change also. Still, we will always be your best friends. Am I right girls?

Gu said and called the girls.

: Yes.

The girls replied. Ji, Nami, and Ole looked at her. It was warm and welcoming.

Of course, that touched Leah's heart. Then she smiled at them.

: Thank you.

Leah said.

: Group hug?

Ole suggested.

: Yes...

Their friendship is true to heart.

A man who dozed off from his desk woke up. His woke up because someone is disturbing his sleep.

: This!

Jin muttered. Then he looked at Leah and the girls.

: That girl! I really loathe her. My dog just died because of her! My dog...

Jin muttered by himself as he mourned about his dog.

: Sigh, her smiles. Sherry must be happy now.

Jin called as he took a nap again.

Then the time ticks. After professor Jean Jackobo there is P.E. 3 or Physical Education  3.

[P.E 3, this subject includes sports and history. The  history and the origin of every well-known sport like Basketball, volleyball, football, etc. and more.]

: Ting! Ting!! Ting!!!

The bell rang.

: At last!

: The class is finally finished.

Leah called. To her, P. E  is very easy and the is nothing to explain.

: Let us go?

Leah stood up and called her friends.

: Yeah.

The girls said and moved.

The girls walked out and reach the gate.

Afar from them, a man stood at the gate. He is waiting for someone.

: Leah!

Someone called her name.

It was Lance.

Lance waited for her at the gate. He really wanted to keep her safe. 

: Let us go?

Lance offered.

Then Leah looked at her friends.

: Bye!

Leag said her goodbyes to her best friend's.

: Yeah...

: Goodbye!

Then each of the girls parted. Gu and Nami walked together while Ji and Ole parted their ways.
