Chapter 1: And We Met Again

Pravi’s POV

‘Classical Dance.’ I love dancing especially classical dance especially Kathak. Not because he used to like this, because I love punishing myself for loving him so much. Whenever I start dancing, I dance non-stoppable for hours until my legs hurt or bleed. Even now, I am dancing but the sound of claps made me realized that I have ended my performance.

Finally, I smiled gently, looking toward the audience who are here to see my show. I waved my hand gracefully. After that, I left the stage to freshen up. After a few moments, when I changed my clothes and came out of the changing room, I saw Miraan Ghosh, the owner of this Dance Academy standing outside the room, also my sponsor.

“Miraan?”, I asked in confusion. “Why are you standing here?” For how long he has been standing here?

“Thank God, Pravi. I wanted to announce something important in front of everyone.”, He spoke. “Let’s go”. He gripped my hand, but I immediately pulled it back. “I am sorry.”, He gave me a warmed smile, but it cannot melt my icy heart.

“I am sorry.”, I apologies as well politely and gave a small smile which I am sure hasn’t reached my eyes. You see, I am an amazing actor who is too good at giving fake smiles. In a minute or two, we were back on the stage wondering what important announcement Miraan wants to make?

“First of all, I want to thank you Ms. Pravi Basu for her amazing performance.”, He said on which crowd cheered and cradled my hand and kissed on it. ‘Control Pravi, Control. You can hit him publicly.’

“Thank you.”, I again gave a fake polite smile. Immediately he kneeled down in front of me, making me surprised and confused.

“Ms. Pravi Basu, my life is wonderful because you are with me, you make me happy even if I feel sad and low. Your smile lightens up my life and all the darkness disappears. Your love has made me crazy. I will love you till the end of my life. And I want to be with all my life. I love you!”, My eyes widened in shock after listening to these words from him. “Our parents have already said yes for our Marriage but I want your yes as well.”, Saying this, he opened a small box revealing a beautiful ring. “Will you marry me?”. Everyone started hooting for saying yes while tears started welling in my eyes, not because I found this proposal cute, but it reminded me of HIM. It reminded me of my carefree days I once knew.

“Even our parents are staring at us. Pravi say YES.”, Miraan said, on which I look around only to find that he was saying nothing but the truth. I gaze toward my mother, who was giving me a hopeful smile. She knew what am I thinking?

“Yes”, I finally said, trusting in my parent’s choice. Everyone cheered after listening to my YES. Miraan grinned like an idiot. Just like I had grinned after HIS listening to yes. He inserted the ring in my ring finger. I started feeling like I am cheating on HIM.

“Shit.”, I heard Miraan cursing. “Ring is loose, but I remembered correctly that I had given the jeweler the correct size.” He talked with himself, and gladly he was right the ring was too loose which could have slipped from my finger anytime. I know why? But this incidence made me happy.

Time Skip

I left from there because I was tired of giving fake smiles and thank you, but one student of the Academy approached me.

“Ma’am, I need your autograph.”, She said and forwarded a tissue toward me. “My name is Priyanka.”, She replied before I could have asked her. I was about to sign on it but something caught my eyes ‘I want to meet you near elevator-ASR.’ I remember the short form of HIS name. I looked toward the girl, but she was nowhere to be found. Before I could have realized my legs had already started walking toward the Elevator, but no one was there near the Elevator. I was a bit disappointed and immediately a heard a sound of ‘DING’ and someone pulled me inside the elevator.

I stared at HIS brown eyes and then his face. It’s been 6 years since I have last seen him. He has changed little at all, still handsome, ambitious, and composed. Those who didn’t know him could never guess his age.

“I have patiently waited for all these years to let a caterpillar turned into a butterfly. And Hell, I will let anyone claim what is Mine.”, I heard him speaking on which I felt legs being jelly. Thank god. He has held me in his arms carefully, but I have to act strong. I can’t let him affect me. My gazed fall on his kissable lips which used to be prohibited areas for me when I was a teenager. I wonder ‘Am I eligible to kiss on his lips?’. He observed me carefully. “Do you want me to kiss you?”

“Whatever, I don’t care.” This was the flat lie. Hell, I will let no one kiss me except him. He cupped my face with so much care and kissed me so passionately as his life depends on it. His warm breath was melting the ice with which I had placed around my heart, which I had built with so much difficultly. He just used his lips while kissing me, not tongue. “Aarvik…”, I moaned his name and pushed him away before I lose my mind.

“I love you, Pravi”, He blurted, panting heavily, trying to have caught his breath.

“Until when? As usual, you will find out any reason to leave me again.”, I may sound pissed because I am. I saw Aarvik smiling bitterly. I wanted to say ‘I love you too’ but I could not say that. Not until I get a few of my questions. I have heard many things about him in these years.
