Auteur: Ezeihekaibee EbubechiAfter spending most of the day getting sun tanned at the beach we decided to go home.
On our way home I replayed the events of the previous day in my head, the image of Linc and Sandra doing the gross stuff I saw them doing kept flashing. God how I wanted to get rid of that memory.
I know, I know.
I said I wasn't going to think of them this summer but come on, a relationship of almost three effing years and a best friend of like since foever, you just can't get rid of the memories that fast.
Time they say is supposed to heal ya, so I'll let time do its job.
My mind soon drifted to the events of today. It actually felt nice going to the beach today but I don't think I'll be leaving the house again so soon.
Ivan Davids.
The hot brown head with the muscles.
On a different occasion I would've been looking forward to meeting him again but nah I'll pass.
He's such a flirt.
Obviously a play boy.
The type that'll ruin a poor unsuspecting girl.
He's so not what I want or like but seriously what do I want?
What do I like?
Simple, nothing.
I don't want anything from guys again. They're pigs that can't stick to one girl.
Idiots.
As these thoughts were going through my head I didn't realise that we've reached home until Jade brought me back to the real world.
Mom and Dad weren't around, they must have gone to one of their numerous charity events.
Those two, their love for helping people can be overwhelming.
They left a note on the freezer telling us to eat whatever we wanted because they won't be home for dinner. Well I guess that would be pizza; two large boxes of pizza.
What?
I love food.
Wait did you think I'll be one of those rich girls who eat only salads?
Ew! After all it's food that gives all the boobs and ass you could ever want. Starving won't do that at all.
We ordered pizza and while we were waiting for the pizza to arrive I decided to ask Jade a question that has been disturbing me a bit.
"Jade" I called.
"Yeah?" she answered without looking up from her phone.
"How did you know that guy's name?"I asked.
What?
I was curious, so?
I've lived here for as long as I can remember but I've never seen that guy before and he obviously doesn't go to our school and from what I saw at the beach he knew quite a lot of people.
"Which guy?" She asked without looking up from her phone but I knew she knew who I was talking about.
"Jade you know who I'm talking about" I said sounding a bit frustrated.
Hey! voice that's not how I wanted to sound.
"I don't know who you are talking about, there were many guys at the beach.
So explain, what does he look like?" She took her eyes off her phone finally looking at me squarely on the face.
I know what she's doing.
Hmph.
She can't just let a girl get over her last relationship before she'll start pushing her into another one and I know she won't give me the answer I want until I explain what he looks like.
"Fine. The tall brown head that was talking to me, you know the one you were fan-girling about" well two can play the game.
"Oh that one-" she said, 'yeah that one' I was about to say but she cut me off even before I started talking.
"Wait, I fan-girled about like five guys today and two were brown heads, one was cuter than the other. So was he cute?" She asked keeping her innocent but mischievous face.
This cousin of mine.
"Yeah, he was cute. Are you happy now?" I said rolling my eyes playfully.
"Yes I am" she said grinning from ear to ear.
"Now my answer" I demanded.
"First of all" she said smirking.
"It's good to see you're moving on quickly"she said with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Oh please" I rolled my eyes "that's not what I asked you" I added.
"Yeah it's not. Well he doesn't live in this town but like seriously you of all people are meant to know him" she said looking at me expectantly.
"Unfortunately me of all people doesn't know him" I said mirroring her looks.
"Okay if you say so. His father is Eros Davids, a very popular and rich business man." she looked at me pointedly before continuing.
"The Davids, deals in fashion, cosmetics and hotels and your Ivan Davids who is the heir of his Dad's company is a model for now so he makes his own money. He's still in highschool though, a senior just like us. You saw him at the beach today because his family has decided to reside in this little town for business purposes and lastly this town is actually their home town" Jade told me looking back at her phone while giving me time to process what she just told me.
"So you are saying that I should know him because his father is a businessman?" I asked.
"Yeah, and from my sources they are the people hosting the party that your parents will go to after the charity event" she said casually looking up from her phone and looking back at it almost immediately.
"Mum and Dad never wrote in their note that they were going to a party afterwards and how do you have so much information about Ivan Davids?" I asked curiously.
"I have my sources" she winked not giving me the information I asked for. It's probably Google for all I care.
"By the way, why do you want to know about him? Eh?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows.
"If you think that I'm having a crush on Ivan then you are absolutely wrong, it's not been up to a week since I broke up wit Linc–" I paused.
"And as much as I don't want to think about him or have anything to do with him, I can't deny the fact that he once meant something to me. That– that I once loved him and it won't take a week to make me get over him. No it won't. So stop all these relationship talk because no matter if the sky should fall, I won't love anything that wears only trousers or shorts and please don't think that I'm angry at you, it's just– I need to think. Goodnight, I'm going to my room" with that I ran up to my room and shut the door leaving a shocked Jade downstairs.
I woke up the next day feeling really bad for how I snapped at Jade last night, the only crime she ever committed was trying to make me happy and so I decided to apologise to her.
Luckily for me Jade is a reasonable and good person, after apologising she said that I didn't need to apologise and she even hugged me.
Talk about wonderful cousins.
Jade had to go today, she was invited to Italy on a short notice last night to some kind of seminar for aspiring fashion designers.
Yup.
You guessed right, she wants to be a fashion designer and I know she's gonna be the best our generation's ever had.
I helped her to pack and accompanied her to the airport then came back home.
Mum and Dad were working from home today and since Jade was staying away for one week, I'm sure as hell that I wouldn't step out of the house to face the scorching sun or stupid people for nothing.
Meaning that my routine would be sleep, wake up, eat and sleep again throughout the week.
I was about starting my routine when mum called out "Ella darling".
Not good, not good at all because whenever mum calls me 'darling', it's either for a news that I'll love or a news that I'll hate or maybe just an information that she'll want me to keep.
"Yes mum" I answered trying not to groan as I made my way to the kitchen where she sat on one of the stools at the island sipping a cup of coffee and flipping through a magazine.
"How are you?" She asked immediately I stepped into the kitchen.
"I'm fine" I answered taking a seat opposite her.
"No I mean how have you been?" Mum asked with concern written all over her face and that's really weird for my mum to ask me that type of question.
Don't get me wrong, my mum really cares for me more than how a 21st century multi-millionaire business woman cares for her daughter but to start with I didn't just see that question coming and it's unlike mum to ask such questions because she always has an idea what's wrong with me.
We have this strong mother-daughter bond.
If you have that type of bond with someone you'll know what I'm trying to say.
"I'm okay" I answered sincerely even to my own surprise, I was really okay.
Somehow I had stopped over thinking about Linc and Sandra.
"Are you sure?" She asked looking so concerned.
"Yes mum, I'm absolutely okay" I said giving her a small smile.
"Breakups suck as hell.." mum said suddenly tucking her honey blond hair behind her ear.
Sometimes I wish I was blessed with her hair colour like I was blessed with her green eyes but I'm still grateful I got dad's Auburn hair.
"I didn't say anything about breakups mum" I said grinning knowing fully well what her answer would be.
"You are so easy to read, easier than your father" mum said with pride in her voice.
"Whatever mum, but I'm totally okay" I told her reassuringly.
"Okay then, I just wanted to make sure"
"Why I actually called you down is to tell you that we are having some guests tonight and I want you to be on your best dress and best behaviour– although I know you always behave yourself" she winked. "They are coming for dinner" mum said with a lot of confidence.
Confidence? Don't ask me what the confidence is for.
If its for her wonderful cooking or the fact that I can't back away because I said 'I'm okay', I really don't know.
Now she's looking at me expectantly for what exactly? I don't know.
You can never understand mothers and their brains until you become one.
What??!!
Where the hell did that come from?
Ella you just quoted mum.
Just shut up brain!
And give me something to tell her now.
"Okay mum, I know I can't back away now, so who exactly is coming tonight?" I really wanted to know and that's very unlike me but I should be living a new life now right?
So don't be surprised dumb brain. No you're not dumb.
You just talk a lot in my head.
"Mr..." Mr. Someone I Don't Know Yet she was about to say. Like she was about to tell me the name of the someone I don't know yet before her phone went off.
"Business" she whispered leaving me to stare at nothing at all. Just space and space and space.
Hey!
Don't call me mad because it happens to majority of the human race.
It took me a while to realize sitting here on a stool balancing my elbows on the kitchen counter with my palms on my cheek starring and thinking of nothing in particular is a waste of precious time and I decided to start my sleep, wake up, eat and sleep again routine before night falls.

Can I Learn To Love Again? TWENTY-FOUR
Third person's P.O.V “You're too slow son, too slow” the first man said disappointedly while the other man rolled his eyes discreetly. “It's a slow process, you of all people should know this” “A slow process that's getting to two months?! This is a snail's pace. We need to act fast and you are the way to the first step of this plan and you haven't done anything!” the first man boomed. “I'm doing my best” the other man said through gritted teeth, his anger rising slowly. “Doing your best” the first man mimicked. “You just have to be fast so we can get to the F.B.I and get this over with” “I would put more effort” the other man said calmly. “Sometimes I wonder why and how you are related to me” the first man said dismis

Her facial expression changed immediately he said it and put his hands around my waist but she started smiling almost immediately as though nothing happened. “Oh, Ella. I didn't see you there” she said in disdain. Yeah right, because I'm invincible. “Miranda” I nodded at her with a tight smile while she eyed me like I was a rotten piece of meat. “How is Sandra?” she smirked thinking she had struck a nerve not knowing I don't give two shits about a certain boyfriend stealing bitch that has a name that starts with an "s" and ends with an "a" “She should be fine” I answered, smiling sweetly at her. “Oh right, I'm sorry. You wouldn't know. You guys broke it off on a bad note. I'm really sorry about Linc though. I never trusted him to start with.” Is she being serious

Recap:-“And I'm outta here” Jade said and walked out of the room when Ivan reached me and placed his hands on my waist. ««« “You dressed to kill unsuspecting victims like me tonight, huh?” he asked jokingly, his smirk still in place. “I dressed to kill just one unsuspecting victim” I smiled innocently and winked at him for more effect. “And who might that be?” he asked smugly, although he knew the answer. “The fine gentleman holding my waist who dressed to make the ladies turn twice” I said cheesily, a small smile playing on my lips as I played

“Oh Jade! The shoe you got me is so pretty” I gushed at the shoe Jade bought for me.It was transparent and plain at the top but the real design and beauty was on the heel. It had diamond butterflies engraved on the heel making it look so spectacular. “I almost got you some black stiletto. Just as I was about paying for them I saw this shoe sparkle in the corner. Once I looked at it I saw you.” Jade grinned. “My feet will surely be on vogue's front page by Sunday!” I squealed excitedly. “Mhn” Jade nodded, stuffing a muffin into her mouth. Lucky bitch with great metabolism. “Okay enough of the shoe. Sit down here and hand your hair over to me” she snatched the shoe from my hand after she had finished her muffin. “Fine” I huffed and took a seat so she could style my hair. My makeup was already set. All t

"There's absolutely nothing for me to wear on Saturday, I've checked every dress in my closet and none of them just fits" I whined to Jade who was playing around with her phone on my bed. "The mall has what your closet doesn't have" she replied dryly not giving me the attention I needed and I climbed onto the bed and sat on my heels beside her. "Jade, I know that you and Joshua's relationship is still new and all so lovey-dovey but please I need you here with me. Body and soul" I batted my lashes at her. "Fine, fine, fine. Grab your bag we are going to the mall" she huffed and I grinned at her. "Thank you so much! You're the best" I said hugging her tight. ★ "That one is too bright" I said scrunching my face at the yellow dress the sales girl attending to us was holding up. "So true" Jade agreed. "What about this

Ella “Have you ever watched the sun set at the beach?” Ivan asked me. We were in his room scanning through Netflix. I've been hanging out with Ivan because Jade has been busy with Joshua and I don't want to intrude in their relationship. Ivan has been such a gentleman, I guess he wasn't lying when he said that no one can hate him for a long time. Of course he has been bringing up the kiss just to tease me; I pretend to be offended sometimes when I actually like it and he has been hinting that he won't give up on us. Most times he says it outrightly.Since the day he kissed me, he hasn't done it again but he can't stop himself from pecking me on every part of my face except the lips of course. He's making me confused, I really want to give him a chance but he might actually end up cheating… he's quite popular to the female population in Willow Cre
