“Thank you for saving me back there” I told Ivan weakly once we were in the car.

“No problem anytime, after all they deserved it, they don't deserve to be called humans because they don't have hearts” he said grinning, trying to lighten the mood so I had no other option but to return his grin with a forced smile.

The drive home was silent, too silent that I didn't realise when we when we got to my house because I was wrapped in my own thoughts.

Although the day started well, it's ending with a sore heart. A pain I hid so fast and so well has been dug up and now the pain is worse, I feel like my heart is in pieces. My heart feels like a shattered conical shaped organ.

But as cliché as it sounds whenever I remember how Ivan saved me from embarrassment, my heart feels a lot more better. He knows nothing about my past or those people, yet he stood up for me. I don't even want to start thinking of when he called me his girl.

“We're here” Ivan said bringing me back to the present.

“Oh, thank you so much for today” I replied, giving him a tight smile.

“I'm sorry” Ivan said as I was about leaving the car. I sat down back  and turned to him bewildered.

“What?” I asked confused.

“If I didn't make you to hang out with me today you wouldn't have been humiliated, so it's all kinda my fault and I owe you an apology” he explained rendering me speechless.

“Seriously Ivan” I said after a while, placing my hand on his.

“You don't owe me an apology, I would have seen the both of them another time anyways. It's just something that was bound to happen and I was lucky enough that you were there to stand beside me when it did happen, I'm so grateful” I said feeling like I was  going to cry at any point. 

After about a short silence, he turned my hand in his rubbing his thumb over my knuckles(don't forget the tingling sensation, it's always there even with the slightest brush of our skin) then he asked “do you want to talk about it?”

Yes– I wanted to tell Ivan, I wanted to tell him how hurt I felt, I wanted to tell him of every emotion I feel whenever I think of Linc and Sandra but I stopped myself, I've had enough embarrassment for the day and I'm not planning on adding my pathetic love story to the list. Afterall I doubt he really wants to hear what I have to say… he surely asked out of politeness.

I won't tell him, at least not today.

“No, I don't want to talk about it” I said pulling my hand from his tender grip but he held on tight.

“Whatever it is that happened between you three, don't dwell on it okay, it'll only bring you down. Always think of brighter days and forget the past” he said gently.

“Do you wanna come in?” Why in the name of Spongebob did I ask that!

You little stupid brain please stop leaving me when I'm around this dude. 

“You don't have to say yes, it's just that my parents are out and I don't want to spend the rest of the day alone but it's totally okay if you don't want to come in, I understand” I rambled, finally pulling my hand away from his and running my fingers through my hair.

“I would love to come in, you didn't have to explain why you asked” he said with a low chuckle, causing blood to creep up my neck up to my cheeks, thank God for long hair, it's really needed for times like this.

“Hey, Nuts” Ivan said exiting the car.

“Race you to the door?” He said grinning.

“Wait, what?” I asked but he had already run off.

“Hey that's not fair!” I say slamming the car door and running after him.

“What movie do you want to see?” I asked, scanning through movies on Netflix.

“That one” Ivan said pointing, coming to sit beside me.

“Bird Box?” I asked my face scrunching in disgust.

“Have you see it before?”

“Nope, but I've heard of it and I don't like what I heard”

“Then we'll watch it, I want you to judge it based on what you've seen and not what you've heard, what do you think?” I was silent for a while before I finally replied “fine”.

“Oh my God, oh my God” I whispered, hiding my face in Ivan's chest. It's official, I don't like this movie. I'm hardly watching it, I've been hiding my face in Ivan's chest for most of the movie and he's been laughing at me while holding me tight to his side. He's so paying for laughing at me in my time of distress.

“The scene is over, you can look now” he said with a smile tucking some stray strands of hair behind my ear.

“No, I won't look at that screen again until that movie's over” I say inhaling he's sweet smell. He has this woody masculine scent mixed with axe and cologne. Truthfully, I don't want to look at the screen again because his scent is heavenly and I can't get enough of it.

“Ok, your loss” he said chuckling and holding me tighter to his side.

I wish the circumstances were different, but I can't date him. He'll just cheat on me once I get boring. I can't go through two heartbreaks in one summer.

We were like that, tangled in our hands and legs watching movies and talking till it got dark and my parents returned and he had to go, with the promise of a call later.

Third Person's P.O.V

In a dimly lit room, three people; two males and a female sat at a table conversing.

“It's not called stealing, it is taking what rightfully belongs to us. It was stolen from us and it's time to take it back” the first male boomed.

“I'm doing my best” the other male replied.

“We know, my son” the female said going to stand behind the other male.

“We're only reminding you of your aim, okay” the female said calmly kissing him on his head.
