Chapter 3 : The trip....

Jamie POV

Jamie wake up early to prepare what she need for the trip, Diane called me last night to be sure she take the leave from my work.

“Just want to be sure you do as you say last night…” she said… And look at her, she got her happiest look ever.

“What’s that look? I promise to come so I did what I had to do but please Diane never mention to Damien about this trip!” Jamie saw how her smile changed and by the look of it, Damien already knows…

"I’m sorry babe… John already told him!” Jam feel so disappointed to hear that she is going to be bothered about the entire trip. And she needed to persevere.

"I’m going to strangle you, babe! You don’t follow what you said to be the last time again… You promise me! I was not the one who told him you know… Its john,”

“You should tell him what I told you…”

“There’s nothing wrong with him tagging along with us…”

“You can say that because your not the one who will be bothered!” I said as acted as if I’m going to cry. I was just putting my guard up for the heartbreak. I’m not ready to have a serious relationship yet.

Damien is a perfect man indeed, Jamie can say that his every woman’s dream but she can’t give him hope… Jamie never know if she can give him the love he deserves.

“Why your so scared to gamble? Why don’t you give yourself a chance to be love and give love in return…” Diane said as she gave me the

“Why don’t you try to look” and Give yourself a chance…

“Don’t push it too hard… I believe love comes in unexpected time! You know what, let not just discuss this. Will just end up arguing again, I don’t want to ruin this travel..”

“Yeah right!” she said as we carry my luggage down the apartment. As we go down the two boys were waiting outside. As they saw us carrying luggage Damien help me put my luggage at the back of John’s Range Rover.

As he approaches me he greeted me first, Jamie just smile at him, Diane went to the passenger seat, Me and Damien stay at the back.

She don’t know how to react in front of him she feels like any moment she might burst out!

Because John and Diane lied to me! Why they treat me like this, this is unfair… Jamie said as she watch them both sit in front but my uneasiness makes me a bit unsteady at my sit. Jamie can’t start a conversation because right at this moment she was fuming…

She didn’t bother to start a conversation, and she was angry inside, my body feels like warfare. If they didn’t connive then I can freely express myself.

How Can I enjoy it? This trip is a mess. Yes, it is! And I just keep it to myself. I was looking outside the car when Damien talk and he said…

“Hey, why you're so quiet?” Jamie look at him and feels like her angry feeling subsided after she saw his handsome face. I’m not an expressive person so it looks like she didn’t care at all but I am…

That is why she is so bothered that she can’t give back the love that he is offering, that is why she want to have a time for myself but it ends up a time with them.

“Nothing, am just thinking bout work Jamie reasoned out.” He just looks at me and said.

“ Why don’t you give yourself a chance to enjoy the moment?” Jamie look at him in the eye and saw the feeling of concern in it. It's true…

All her life Jamie give it to her work that she don’t even have time for herself. She wake up in the morning do the house chores early, went to her first part-time work in a pizza parlor for 4 hours. And to the Williams Company as a CSR at night.

Jamie need to do that to forget her frustrations in life. Jam need to busy herself to forget that being alone is so depressing. She need to be positive in life because if sne will not do it she will find myself in a mental institution, haha…

“Ok!” She agree with him He smiled back. The atmosphere became awkward Jamie don’t know how to react..

There’s just a feeling that she want to give him a chance and experience love for the first time but am scared that she won't meet his expectations…

Since my parents died, I’m so scared to trust people, she shut herself to everyone that time Diane always comes to my aunt's house to cheer me up…

Yes, my father's sister Nellie tried to raise me but only a year after my mother's death, Jamie decided to live alone. She treats me as her daughter and Jame can say she's lucky enough to experience her unconditional love, she supported me all the way.

We're heading now to the airport when Jamie came back to reality. John parks his car in his usual parking space. She can say John is not an ordinary man also.

He is an only son and has his own business also. We got off the car and we went to the airport with our luggage. After checking in were just waiting now for our time to depart.

Damien starts a conversation with me. “Jam, you avoiding me… Why?” “It's only right to be distant to each other….” Jamie said to him he looks at me with a sad face…

“I’m not demanding for anything Jam… You deprive me of getting closer to you, I don’t understand anything because you never share to me about what happened to you in the past that you are so scared to rely on us!”

“Let's not talk about this, please… Not here…” He just looks at me with questioning eyes.

And he said, “ Alright! as you say so.” Yes, it true since she was alone she have a lot of questions but it ended up only keep it to herself…

She have Diane but since her parents left she don’t trust anybody now. Her unlucky life drags her to become a loner. It's so hard for me to open up my life, all of the people surround me think that she already overcome the longing, the longing of having a complete family, the longing for someone to confide in..

Someone to turn to when you feel like the world is against you. There’s a time when she want to go to a mountain peak and shout all my heart out until my sadness subsided until it drained me and all will fade…

Sometimes Jamie questioned life why she ended up like this. But still thankful for the life ahead of her… She is still young and have a lot of wants to attain in life.

“Babe let's go! “ Diane said and she can't hide the frowning look on my face…

“Oh! So you still remember me?” She gave her a very sharp eye.

“And why is that?” She asks in return

“The last time I recall we had a deal and now you just ignore it as if it, not your best friend, do you know how it feels…” She said as we walk.

“OMG! I thought we sort things out already…

“ And because of that all my expenses will be yours..”

“No worries, the boys are there… They will! Hahahaha” And that makes me smile This friend of mine made up my day! And she love her…

She was nodding herself when she pulled my hand and we headed to the boy's place together.

"So are you both okay now? Let's go its time for plane departure… Ok!" We both said

After 6hrs and 15mins. Travel we arrive at San Francisco International Airport at around 9 in the morning…

We ride the airport shuttle as if were two couples just like Diane with his boyfriend John and me Damien, as we get in the shuttle the assistant wrong us as a couple.

She goes against it but Damien touches my hand to confirm it. “Why you didn’t correct her…”

“Let her assume…” he said. I'm some kind of speechless by his determination, Jamie just ignore and started to sit next to him at the shuttle she doesn't know what gotten to her and agree to this setup…

Why not! Just go with the flow… She convince myself to just go with it, who knows… He can go inside my heart or touch my soul. Why not feel the moment she said to herself.

And she fall asleep while thinking. Damien offers his shoulder for me to feel much comfortable while sleeping and she oblique… Jamie set aside her worries to be at ease.

Damien is not a bad person after all, if she give him a chance shebwill be the luckiest girl in Beacon.

Damien’s family is well known in our place because of their businesses as one of the Anderson family but he never has air in the body…

He remains humble that’s the reason why he gets the highest position in their business.

She admired him for that, she didn’t know why until now he is single, Damien is handsome for got sake! And a bachelor… He shakes my shoulder when we are near the Hotel. “Wake up! Sleeping beauty… Were near the hotel now…”

“Mmm… Jamie said stretching her two hands and slowly open her eyes, until our eyes meet and she saw him staring at her.”

“Did I slept too long? I’m sorry am I too heavy? “

Jamie said very worriedly…

“No problem… You know I can take anything for you..” he said, Jamie lower her head as she get the hint of it.

This is the reason why she don’t want him to come… She feel so bad every time he does something for me that she can’t give anything in return, my conscience killing me every time…

All the actions his giving is melting me but every time I’m thinking of giving him a chance, she just can’t! It feels like there’s a force telling me not to… I'm still hoping for the right one to come…

“Jam, please give us a chance… You know how much I love you…” he murmurs at my ears… Jamie close her eyes and said

“ I’m not ready yet…Give me time, please… To think it over.”

“Were not getting younger Jam and besides were in the right age…”

“I know but I don’t want to give you hope, I hope you understand I can compromise myself just because you did everything for me… That’s unfair…”

Jamie saw how sad he is, shevwant to say let's try but she really can’t… Jamie swear her parents that she will give herself to the man she can feel love for. Only him.

Then suddenly we arrive at the famous PARKER HOUSE the known hotel in San Francisco. Diane gets three rooms, 1 for couple and 2 singles.

Jamie was so happy that she can have her room. Thanks, God! She tell herself… As we go to our designated rooms she bump into someone as she was walking holding my keycard, she pick up the keycard not looking at the man Jamie bump into…

As she looked at her, she was about to say sorry, but her tongue got stuck in her mouth...

“ You again!” Yeah, It's Francis Ribbs again…

The handsome and look like Hardin Scott in the film After… But the only difference is he has no smile at all, this man is so arrogant.

This is our second encounter but she never saw him smile. Is this guy always In a bad mood?

She question herself as she was looking at him.  On the contrary, Jam didn’t know that this was all a setup, the incident they had now was all intentional because she had been investigated and all her information is gathered.

Franz also knew about Damien, that’s why he decided to see her as early as right now. He wants this girl so much that his possessiveness to her is too much, they can’t deny the bond that they have and he will be willing to take the risk.

As Jam back in reality she takes a step back and she fainted… 

"Are you sure, we need to do this?" Nate asks me.

"Ah-huh... I need to do this..." he said.

"She will get angry with you.."

"I can deal with her temper."

"I see, so you have a lot of patience when it comes to her now?" Franz just look at him and ignore his mocking... Can he be more serious, he told to himself.

"And why is that?" He told him...

" So I cant get your help with this?"

" I just can't leave her with that man without a fight..."

"Ok! I got your point now... Satisfied?" 

As he was looking like a madman he smiled and assured to help me sort this out... Nate is a very supportive friend and because of that, he treated him as kin.
