ADVERSITY

Don't confuse love with admiration. It could be worst, just because you don't know what the meaning you create a different scenario.

“Kurt, I get you to bed okay” she whined, uncross her arm, reached him, take his arm around her waist and get him not fight walking them to the bedroom, he hugging her closed to his side, leaning close to her hair, his breath hot again her “You smell good” he mumbled to have grunted by her as she kept they balance to climb the stairs, shifting her grip on him a little tighter when she felt as if he was slipping under her hold

“Come on, work with me Kurt” she grumble as they move stumble on the stair

“I’m sorry” he said quietly as they climbed the stairs again with a little strength from him

She had no other choice but to take him to her bedroom, she forget guest room was locked and can’t stand the weight of him any longer, She grunted when they finally reached the bed, easing him into it, remove his boots, and cover him in the blanked, went to change clothes and clean herself, she come back to watched him for awhile, make sure he sleeping, when she thought so, she turned around only stop when Kurt reached her hand, she hesitated but hear him mumbled “please stay Di” make Diane turned around to looked at his heavy eyes.

She had no strength to fight, she knew that he wouldn’t rest while drinking if no one stroked his hair or stay next him, she just pull her hand away to moving on the bed next to him, she faced him, slowly move her hand, reached forward and smoothed the stray hair from his forehead, after all this time it feels weird when you have someone beside you, sleeping on your bed, they have separated their house for a year, he stay in the country and she here in the city, work always make them separate , after five years trying together

She looked at his face watched his breath change, she knew he was ready drift away, his expression calm unlike she saw in the living room, haven't done this for a long time to him, not to forget how desperate he is, she gulped, inhaled lowly, hold back her tears

“I’m sorry kurt” running her fingers softly in his hairs, she closed her eyes don’t know her sadness make her drift away too

With sunlight coming in through the curtain, she open her eyes to look at someone next to her, she blinked her eyes several time and remember what happened last night, he still sleep with little snore, she didn't know what would happen when he woke up later, maybe he will regret to see her next to him, not wanting to think about that, she left the bed and headed for the kitchen to make a coffee, while she waits coffee to be serve, she heard the sound of her cellphone ringing in the living room, just to see cary name on the screen

“Hello, Cary, what’s wrong?” she answered while trying to gather her thoughts

“Director firth wants to see you this morning, before the morning News meeting” he said on the other line

“Okay, see you in nine” with that she hung up and returned to the kitchen to drink her coffee

After finishing her coffee she returned to the bedroom with a glass of water and painkiller on his nightstand, careful not to make a sound, she rushed to get ready to work, she returned with the clothes and makeup on, ready to work, she sit beside him, watched him for awhile reached forward and smoothed the stray hair from his forehead gently, feeling guilty leaving him alone, she exhaled deeply and take a note in her bag and write it, decided to leave it too on nightstand

I have to go to work

Put the note on the nightstand, She pout her lips closed her eyes with guilty look to kurt, then she hurried goes to office news

In the morning, Director Firth with team leader David Lee by his side, watching Nancy Crozier bring the morning news at the broadcasting studio, after Nancy finished Director Firth approached her

“Good, you look great” he smiled politely with grin in his face talk to Nancy

“She better than Diane, right?” David mumbled try to convince Director Firth

“You're just happy, quickly gather the committee” he replied immediately leave the studio, go to his room

“Good” he muttered to Nancy, showed his thumb while following Director behind him

Diane was in her car heading to the office while she heard the news on the radio, that Malcolm Overby international player golf don't want to be interviewed by anyone

“Sorry, Malcolm Overby will not do interviews with any media, you can only see him on the golf course” someone is talking in the radio

“Overby... that name, but how could it be him, and it can't be him” she thought curiously and frowned, shake her head she stop her thought when she arrived at parking area

Kurt opened his eyes only to close again, his mouth felt dry, squirm his body, his head feels spinning, he groan loudly, he tried to open his eyes slowly and scanned the room where he was, and realize where he is and why he is here, he groan again before rubbing his face try to get up, he stop on his seat didn’t know what to do, blame alcohol while feelings desperate with himself, bowing his head down, he thought of how to face her, glancing on the nightstand he found a note with writing on it, quickly he took it and read it

When finished, he slowly closed his eyes, taking a deep breath he suppress out through his lips “Damn...” while running a hand through his hair, he looked at the clock on his wrist, and get it already at 9 a.m., his eyes widened remember that he had an appointment with a client at his firm in a minute, he quickly drank a painkiller on the nightstand, hurried to put in his boots and rushed out of the house into his car and drive to the firm.

Diane arrive at news office immediately headed to the Director Firth office, met with his secretary who said to wait inside the room, she waited and sat in a armchairs

“There you are” he said while sat on his chair when entering the room

“I am... I got a call from Cary that you wanted to meet me this morning” she said try to calm, show her polite smile while his eyes focused on her face

“Yes...about that” he answered after watched her for a long, looking for the right words to say

Gavin Firth is an old friend of Diane, he is five years older than her, Diane already considers him as a best friend, but not for him, he wants more but realizes that she is married so he can only protect her

“Gavin, do you have something to say?” she begin when she felt he was staring at her too long

“Yes, yes... I want to talk to you about last night?” he replied while blinked his eyes rapidly

“What, night?” Diane queried with a quirked eyebrows 

“That’s you make your junior look stupid in Television” he said met her eyes while she cross her arms and rolled her eyes

“I ask detailed questions representing the viewers as a reporter, she should be able to answer them” she said grumble avoid his face

“That aggressive attitude makes peoples think you are arrogant, Diane” he replied adamantly while searching her eyes

“Just consider it advice to educate junior from seniors, okay” she demanded incredulously, throwing her hands onto the air, her expression thunderous.

“Alright…this time you win” he answered with his smile, then he took a human documentary project proposal and showed it to Diane, asking her to read’s. “Bet your name and make it success” he offered while fold his arm just to see Diane eyes going wide as her mouth fell open

“But-, How about the News Night?" She shrieked

“Our reporters are not just you Diane, many can replace”….
