11. MYSTERIOUS MANSION.
Author: RoomsAmelia opened her eyes just to see she was in the bed.. in someone's bed?
Quickly she sat down and saw she was fully dressed not in her clothes but a navy blue velvet night suit, heaved in sigh she looked around to notice this was new to her.. the room.
The bedroom was furnished on a meagre budget but it was full of more warmth than Amelia had seen in many years. On the back wall was a mural, a tree with every colour of fall leaf imaginable and a few more besides. One the crude pine bed was a hand-embroidered orange cover. From every wall smiled black and white photographs of art and history.
The colours are nothing else, strong, vibrant. But where was she? Maybe at Richard or Van Dough's home?
It was not a house but seems a villa or a mansion...
The door on the knock interrupted her thoughts, as she turned around and saw an old female.. more like her grandmother..stepped in with a tray of food in her hand.
"Hello, hope you had a good sleep. Now please have some food. You are too weak.." the lady spoke sweetly as if she was her granddaughter.
Placing the tray, the lady noticed how Amelia was drooling over the food.. she let out a low chuckle and said, "It's for you.. have some."
Without saying a word, Amelia just gave an awkward smile and began to eat the food.
It was so good and she was so hungry.. so she could not control.
"Mind if I ask something?" Amelia asked, her mouth stuffed with crispy bacon the lady made.
"Ask away.." the lady smiled and said as she was sitting next to her on a sofa chair.
"Who brought me here? And whose house is this?" she asked, face filled with confusion.
"Well, you are somewhere safe. Don't worry for I can't reveal the name.." the word of the lady was sweet enough that she believed.
"But am I not in trouble? Because I can't afford to be in one right now." Amelia said in fidgety while her mouth full of food.
"Relax.. mind if I ask something too?" the lady asked, a little impatient, to which she just nodded agreeing.
"Who are you running from? And where is your home? Your parents?" asked the lady, noticed the sudden change of emotion on Amelia's face as she stopped eating and gulped the food in her mouth.
"Well, my father sold me to the rich men. My mother can't speak as he cut the tongue of her. And I'm the only child.." she told all of it in a quivering voice.
"He did sell me to perform on a night clubs, I guess or maybe to warm up the beds of rich men," she added in an uneasy tone.
"Do you know what that means?" asked the lady in curiosity.
"Yes.." she nodded while wiping the mouth with a napkin.
"How old are you?" asked the lady to which she replied by saying, "21.."
"Too young.." the lady nodded while looking around.
"By the way, the man who saved me, is he here? Is this house belongs to him?" Amelia asked in curiosity.
"A man? A girl brought you here, said she found you on the street, fainted.." the lady said unaware.
A girl? How can it be a girl? She remembered she fell in the arms of a man.. girl? No way she was not dreaming, it was real. I t was all real.
She cannot remember the scent of this man, but the man she bumped into for the very first time outside the bar, he had this majestic scent.. the glorious fragrance coming from him, was unable to forget for Amelia.
How bad that she didn't saw the face of that man but she is sure that he might be handsome.. at least she can tell from the perfect body of his when she rested her small hands on his large and broad shoulders and a giant neck.
"Hey, are you okay?" the lady snapped her fingers when noticed that she was lost in her thoughts.
"Yea, fine. Thanks.." with that she stood up to walk out of the room until the curious voice of the lady made her stop.
"Where will you go?" asked her, standing up.
"I don't know but I can't stay here either..." Amelia said, her face all innocent and decent.
"You can stay here with me... nobody can know.." the lady offered in humanity.
At least there are few people here in this world, who have humanity in their hearts. But she cannot live here, can she?
She has a tongueless mother to take care of... God knows what her cruel father has done with her poor mother by now.
"Thank you so much but I have to get my mother out of that house.." she gave a tight-lipped smile and walked out of the room.
On the way she saw the villa was huge and magnificent, the walls were covered with golden and white wallpapers with works of arts hung on the walls.
The two-way staircase was giving a breathtaking look reaching down to the living room, which was spacious and huge. It was some kind of a royal villa, Amelia had never seen this kind of place before.
And who the hell lives in this big, big house.....
She inhaled deeply and the smell of something delicious cooking was coming from the kitchen.
"Is this mac n cheese?" she asked, walking down the stairs and turning her face around to see the lady who was coming behind her.
"Yes it is.. and you be careful.." as the lady said those words, Amelia scoffed and replied, "Oh you know Mac and cheese are my fav........." when speaking her feet got tangled and she fell from the stairs, rolling and rolling down.
"Oh my goodness..." the lady put both of her hands to cover her mouth while her eyes bulged out.
She ran to see if she was okay.. and there she was.. lying helplessly on the floor.. holding her head which was of course bleeding.
"Are you okay?" asked the lady to which she smiled broadly and replied, "Uh... I guess." and the lady sighed, shaking her head.
