The big bad wolf
Author: Pravs_3618My father seems to be rich. For the first time in my life, I boarded a private plane. From the airport a big shiny black car picked us up to take us to our destination.
"Are you alright dear. Do you need anything" my father asked me for the 50th time since we started from my Grandpa's place.
That made me smile at him, and I assured him that I am fine and don't need anything.
For which he smiled at me in return.
"Dear, we are going to our home, which you already know. But that is not all. Our kind.. " his hesitation made me sad.
"I know about who you are the father" I made this easy on him. Of course I know who my dad is. He is a wolf shifter. My grandfather, even though he disliked my father for his own reasons, always used to tell me about who my father is and their King.
Even though my mother is a human, my father loved her dearly. He convinced my grandfather for her hand in marriage.
All the shifters were lead by a king. There are 5 wolf packs under the king, who are in turn looked after by their respective alphas.
Every now and then a shifter will challenge his highness, for his position as a king. But none seem to succeed in taking down the king.
It is said that he is one of the most feared being among the supernaturals and humans.
Even though I never saw him, my grandfather spoke highly about him.
He is the big bad wolf in my dreams. No one ever saw him shift, not even when he was fighting a shifter.
My father cleared his throat. I looked at him expectantly.
"Me being the security in charge of his highness we will be living in the Mansion."
"Which Mansion.," I asked like an idiot.
My father smiled " The king's Mansion of course".
"But father. " I started to panic. All I heard about that man is that he is ruthless and cold. He never tolerates clumsiness, and I am a student of the same department.
"You don't have to worry dear. The Mansion is so big, you won't cross paths with his highness, if you don't want to" This made me breathe a little bit easier.
"But be careful Thea, I am a security general. I had to make very tough decisions in my employment, that a few people don't like. They might try to harm you physically or mentally. Don't trust anyone dear".
The tone and seriousness with which my father warned me, is making me feel uneasy. What kind of place am I going to? But I have to make this work. I just got my father back, can't lose him again.
"Don't worry father, I will always be on my guard," I promised him.
"That's like my daughter" he gave me a proud smile.
After what felt like 20 minutes, we reached a dense forest. We drove through the thick forest for about half an hour and suddenly the driver took a right turn. For an outsider, at first glance you wouldn't notice the difference, but the path we turned in to seems to be like a small road which seems to be well used. And then an iron gate with two statues on either side appears. One of the statues is a winged demon and the other is an Angel.
The driver pushes a button on the dashboard and then the gates open up to let us inside.
The place on the other side of the gate is a completely different picture than the one we just came from.
This side is bright and green with colorful flowers and tall trees. It is a sight for sour eyes. There are houses here n there, the deeper we drive inside, the frequent the houses and people are. It's like a big town with big shops and buildings here and there.
"That's the Mansion" my father points out to a very big house at the end half surrounded by a lake.
"Wow" I whisper.
It is indeed beautiful. The house is at the edge of the lake with an iron fence surrounding it and a big gate in the front.
"This gate is the only way to get inside the Mansion" explains my father.
I can see why, all the other three sides are surrounded by water and a tall fence, I feel like it might be 30 feet high.
"There is a small passageway at the back of the Mansion, it leads towards the lake. You can go if you want to. Even your room has its own way down towards the lake" my father explained.
"Really ..." I exclaim excitedly.
My father smiles at me and nods his head.
“Thea, i want you to join us in the training arena tomorrow morning by 5am for the training” my father said after he dropped me off near my room.
“Yes father” i replied instantly.
“If you need anything, ask me my dear” with that, he turned and took a step forward to leave, but then he turned and smiled at me.
“I am really happy to have you in here Thea” he said and hugged me tight.
“You are all i have” he gulped “after your mother………” he stopped with out able to continue.
“You don't worry dad, you are in for a long ride with me this time” i teased him, trying to lighten the moment. He smiled a little.
“I’d like that dear. Good night, sleep tight” he kisses me on my forehead. With that he left me alone in my room with my thoughts.
I showered and changed in to my night wear which is just a big t shirt. I already had my dinner, so i just head to bed.

The wards exhaust the energy of anything which is trapped in it. That's what happened with Ornan. The wards which were activated by his magic trapped him between them. It slowly drained the energy force of his spirit until nothing left of him.Darius was visibly sad after that. He locked himself in his study only to come out this morning. He must have come to terms with what happened to Ornan. We all decided to take the witch lord upon his offer and visit his house.Me, Darius, Max, my father, Li, Melanie, and my grandfather came to lord Agamanan's house. It's an old house with stone walls and an ancient look to it.The house is three-story, the first floor has a living room, kitchen, dining room. The second floor has bedrooms. The third floor is prohibited to enter and that's where the books are. The third floor has four walls, if any person accidentally entered into it and sees that, they will just see four plain stone walls, nothing else.
